New Jersey Transit operates several commuter train lines throughout the state of New Jersey. Trains are primarily oriented to get commuters into and out of New York City. They are pulled by diesel, electric, and dual mode locomotives. Some of the trains originate at Penn Station in New York while others come from Hoboken Terminal in New Jersey. In this video, we will take a look at trains on several New Jersey Transit lines throughout the state. All aboard!

Translation required: Are Transit Trains what in the UK would be known as Commuter Trains? Commuter trains in the UK: Dirty, overcrowded, hyper expensive, unreliable timekeepers whose staff are forever thinking of reasons to go on strike.

Yes, these are commuter trains. New Jersey Transit is a government run transit agency that owns and operates commuter trains in the state of New Jersey. All the trains in this video are New Jersey Transit commuter trains.

RiversideRailProductions NJT dosent have all bad K5LAs, and there are worse in the U.S. And to be honest NJT actually has some pretty nice sounding K5LAs even for being choked. Oh and also one other thing its not the horns themselves, NJT has alot of engineers who prefer to quill rather than fully blast the horn.

Great video, Mike! I wish NJT had good K5LA's. That PL42AC looks weird. Alstom should've just stuck to their locomotives and let GE handle their genesis type locomotives. The PL42AC looks like a rip off.

Plus the njt gp40ph-2bs are the oldest in the njt with having a long life span for the cnj in 1960ish and now by njt so you could say that these locos are really great

Jackstermax That is a PL42AC. I think Athearn Genesis is making it, or they probably did.

It is indeed a PL42AC. As far as I know, only one company has made a model of it and it was just the shell.

I don't think I've seen 6902, but I might have. I know Spencer Hughes has some videos of it. 6902 has been parted out to repair other cars and will never be returned to service.

Now that the GP40PH-2Bs and now they have been rebuild differently still same train its just that parts had to be replaced like Hand rails K5HLA horns just like the GP40FH-2Bs EMDs and F40PHs the K5HLA horns 4112 I remember had P5 horn 4111 early 1980s had RS3L horn
