I would recommend putting an inline fuse in place instead of hooking directly up to the battery. A fender bender could turn into an engine bay fire real quick without one.

ewehinger I’m definitely still liking this bumper! Everything is holding up great, the finish still looks new after winter driving and no rust or anything. The install was pretty easy, I did have an extra set of hands which helps with the winch and lining up the bumper.

jdbrot no problem, hope it helps you out with your install! I don’t know anyone that has a Badlands winch, I remember reading an article that said it was decent for the price. Handy features are wireless remote and synthetic winch line, but that depends on budget. Happy trails!

Great videos Bryan! Been following the progress on your build. About to install the Arcus + Warn EVO 8S + Tuffy on my JLR soon. In your more recent videos the license plate is bent. But here it looks like the plate comes time perfectly vertical with the hook tucked behind it. Curious what happened? Does Tuffy bracket have enough room to tuck the hook behind the plate?

Hey man thanks for watching along! The Tuffy bracket works great with the Warn hook. I did add a Factor 55 Flatlink and it’s a lot thicker, that’s why the plate had to be bent a little. I want to modify the bracket to come forward more but haven’t gotten around to it. Let me know if you have any more question!

Thanks for the video! Helps out with what I’m looking to buy. With the winch hook placed against the fairlead and the license plate down like you have it at the end of the video, is there any rattling? Does the winch hook stay flat/flush against the fairlead? And does the license plate stay flat (the winch hook doesn’t interfere with it)?

John Covacci glad the video helped you out! The winch hook is snug and doesn’t rattle, the plate does sit flat and looks nice. I did recently add a Factor 55 winch hook that I did a video on, the plate no longer sits flat and I’ll need to modify it.

Mine ended up lowering about 3/4” from the factory plastic bumper setup. At the time I just had a spacer lift on top of factory coils so if you have an aftermarket lift it’ll probably sag a little less. Thanks for watching the video and good luck on the installation!

Thank you so much for the great video! Thinking about getting the same set up but did you add a new skid plate? I am insure if I can get away with the stock plastic from my rubicon or do I need to upgrade to a new steel one. If so do you recommend any?

Maxime Olivan I’m glad you liked the video! If you watch towards the end of the video I reused my factory metal skid plate, you should have the same skid plate under the plastic air dam if you have a plastic front bumper. If you have the metal bumper group it might be slightly different but should still work. Hope this helps!

No problem, I’m glad the video helped you out! When I installed mine I had a spacer lift on the stock coils and lost almost an inch. I now have an aftermarket lift with heavier coils and it handles the weight a lot better. If you have some sagging I would add a 3/4” Synergy spacer on the front coils to gain back the lost height.

I haven’t had the need to ever pull the grill but if I did the winch plate would definitely need to be moved a bit for clearance. The nice thing about the new 2024 grill is that they left room for the Warn which cables. Thanks for watching the video!

I didn’t really notice a difference at all, still get plenty of light out of the fogs. The Jeep is lifted so lights are a bit higher than normal anyways. Thanks for watching!

Will the LED fog lights (Rubicon plastic bumper) mount to the supplied brackets?

J S yeah they will, it comes with 2 different brackets depending on which fog lights you have. They definitely did there homework and supply all the hardware you could need. I’m really happy with it so far! If your going to buy it I would get it today their year long mail-in rebate of 5% ends tonight. I’ve got the same bumper in my garage waiting to go on my Gladiator! Do you think a winch could be installed after the bumper without having to remove the bumper? I don’t have the winch yet and want to go ahead and put the bumper on

You do have to remove the stamped bumper shell to install a winch, it’s not hard to do after it’s installed and the bumper can totally be ran without the winch until you get one. Hope this helps, thanks for watching Danny 👍

D K no worries, if you’re talking about the bolts that hold the fairlead on they are the ones that came with the Warn winch. The license plate bracket is placed behind the fairlead and is pretty thin, so the bolts work just fine. The Tuffy bracket includes hardware to mount the plate to the bracket as well. So if you buy a winch and this bracket you should be good!

Matthew Willmann I haven’t upgraded the rear yet. I was going to get the Rugged Ridge HD one to match. I’m a little hesitant about the rear because of the need to relocate the license plate. I want to get something that looks clean and doesn’t require weird wiring that needs removed every time I take the spare off.

How did you get the inside nut plates to fit? Have the same bumper and winch and can’t get the plates to fit?

Tom Henderson I don’t remember having any trouble with the inside plates. If I recalled they had a notch in them to help them stay in place. It was a tight fit once everything was together. I did hand thread in those bolts while I installed the winch then pulled them out to put the stamped bumper on, don’t know if that helped or not. Let me know if you have any more questions.

I just ran into this issue as well. With my Warn Xeon 10-S mounted to the plate, those inside brackets with the nuts will not fit. They hit the front part of the winch and no room to move it backwards.

How much of the fog light beam is blocked by the bumper? I like this bumper but the fog lights seem super recessed and I’m curious if half the beam is blocked like it looks like it would be.

To be honest I’ve never noticed a difference in the fog lights. They still shine right in front of the Jeep and you can see the difference between them off and on at night. I have the halogen fogs and they weren’t that impressive to begin with, this bumper is pretty sweet and I’m definitely still happy with it! I hope this helps, thanks for watching!

Yes it does, it comes with brackets for both the led and halogen factory fog lights.

What torque did you use on the mounting hardware for the bumper/hooks and winch plate bolts?

The instructions actually didn’t mention the torque specs for those. I ended up going back and torquing them to 80 ft lbs, the same as the Evo front bumper. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

@@correfe that’s a good starting point, the aftermarket hardware is higher grade hardware so the torque spec will be a little higher.

The Rugged Ridge bumper came with its own winch plate to install under the bumper cover. Most aftermarket winch bumpers come with their version of a winch plate, hope this helps!

Yes it did, it has been recalled since. When I spoke to them they said they were working on a new one but all the ones sold now come with wired controllers.

The stamped part is 11 gauge and the winch plate in 1/4” steel.

you 100% should not be removing those triangulation brackets for the bumper mounting pads. this significantly weakens the pads the bumper mounts to without those triangulation brackets in place.
