Late to this vid but if you ever feel compelled, I’d love to hear more about your day job and how you navigated the transition in role/industry! I’m always so curious how people know it’s time for something new, what the job search was like, etc. Oh and how you’re finding Yuma and that transition too! ahh congrats on the new job! it's so nice that outside of sunny's you're still in a space involved with what you love: books!!! i need to take a look at bindery! read Beautyland recently and LOVED! so strange and beautiful. might slide up in top 10 actually! maybe take a look at Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar? loved it and felt refreshing, and Bertino has him in the acknowledgements for Beautyland!

that's so exciting youre at bindery now! also i totally feel the bittersweet part of leaving, i left an agency this year after 8 (!!!) years and went in-house in a marketing role. i'm super happy i did but it was definitely a big life change.

I just finished "A Little Luck" by Claudia Piñeiro. I cried my soul out. The novel is brilliant but it is soul crushing. Argentinian authors really did it for me this year. Discovered two more and loved both of their works (in case anyone is interested I highly recommend Selva Almeda's "Dead girls" and Dolores Reyes' "Eartheater").
