Generally, collagen molecules are believed to be too large to penetrate the skin layers, making them ineffective. HOWEVER, I have seen many collagen serums produced in Korea nowadays with a very low molecular weight. (Without getting too scientific) At such low weight, collagen molecules can break down and act like the collagen hydrolysates naturally present in our skin, made out of hydroxyproline, glycine, and proline. Therefore, IN THEORY, these collagen serums SHOULD be able to stimulate fibroblasts to synthesize more collagen. While I haven't looked at the specific scientific lab data of these collagen serums on paper and on test subjects to objectively quantify the result, I don't think we should completely dismiss collagen products. The molecular weights of the collagen in each product should be considered and if it seems effective even in theory I don’t see the harm in using them.
That is very interesting! I always assumed the glowing reviews of some star collagen products and masks were purely marketing hype or placebo. Perhaps I shouldn't only think of topical collagen as a humectant after all.
Personally I've been using the Purito Centella Unscented Serum for about 2 years now, and I love it so much. The times when I ran out of one before the replacement could arrive, my skin was basically yelling at me to get it back😂. It is honestly such a wonderful barrier restore serum, with cermides, peptides, niacinamide and of course centella. Other barrier products are usually really heavy, and because my skin is dry-combo and really sensitive alongside dehydrated my skin easily gets overwhelmed if there is more that one heavy product on my skin at a time, and I usually leave that role to the moisturiser. However this serum feels so light and wonderful, without just disappearing into the skin as if I never applied anything in the first place. I can easily use it with other products, any time of day, any season, any weather. I highly recommend trying it out🥰 PS. I love your videos. At this point you are really the only skincare youtuber I consistently watch, and all of the products I've tried out because of your videos never dissappointed.❤
Tina officially put me onto K-beauty 🥰. I was already into J-beauty but the last year of using K-beauty products has made a difference. Now the focus is getting rid of some of these dark spots from the cursed pimples 😫. Great video Tina 😊💜
that P.CALM serum looks very intriguing 😅 I have yet to try one of their products but I love it when a company tries something with less common ingredients and for the product to be well received! 😌
I wish you'd explicitly mention in the video that the HaruHaru serum is a sponsored product placement instead of hiding it at the end of the caption...
@@kohakuspiritsilly lol. she should've been more obvious about the sponsor, she usually is but it's not like it's a bad product, all the reviews for it are good. not buying a product that could potentially work well for you dosen't spite her lol, she's not losing or getting any money based on your purchases.
@@AliceBunny05 why do you care so much about what I do with my money, you’re a very weird person. I’m replying because I watched the video but didn’t see the sponsor.
I’ve been using the viral VT Riddle Shot 100 serum. Seen amazing results with my texture, pores, and evening out my complexion. Game changer! Tip after applying serum follow up with calming sheet mask. Thank you Tina for another amazing video.
My fav serums as of now are the Skin1004 Centella ampoule & Pore Minimizing serum! The centella serum work so so well with the Mugwort essence, and when u add the klairs midnight moisturizer on top of it, its the perfecccct combo to calm down your skin!
Oo I’ve been wanting a new tranexamic acid serum, I will have to try the haru haru one! I like that it is combined with vitamin C and niacinamide, what a knock-out combo!
Skin1004 also has their brightening ampoule with niacinamide, tranexamic acid, and 3-o-ethyl ascorbic acid (vitamin c derivative) combined of course with their signature centella, for those with more sensitive skin that can’t tolerate ascorbic acid :)
I hope you get a chance to pick up SKIN1004 Probio-Cica Intensive Ampoule, SKIN1004 Tone Brightening Capsule Ampoule and Jin Jung Sung Sooting Moisture Essence
Also I was going to ask about how you feel about the VT Reedle shot, as well as, Torriden but I can't remember if you liked it to repurchase because I think you might want to try Wellage Real Hyaluronic Blue Ampoule instead since it's also highly rated.
my current favourite combo when it comes to my acne-prone skin has been the IUNIK Tea Tree Relief serum + Lion Pair Acne Cream. I still get acne, but these calm them down very quickly and just helps me manage the severity of them in general. although the acne cream has become more difficult to source lately. even when I got my family in Japan to buy me some, they told me they had to go to a bunch of different stores to find them (and they somehow can't get the 24g version anymore). so if it is getting completely discontinued, it'd be good if I can find an alternative for it. definitely keen to try Haruharu Wonder and Aprilskin serums!
Hi Tina, another excellent video! I absolutely love serums, and I'm always interested in what you are using bc you have beautiful skin! Thanks for sharing this video with us! Love it ❤
I love you! it's time to check-out again all of these recommendations that I have added to my cart. haha! Thank you, Tina. I could now also swear by the I'm From Mugwort Essence. Such life-saving, just by applying overnight!
Hi Tina, I really like the Cosrx vitamin C serum, they have two concentrations, one of 13 and the other of 23 and I have had no problems with both, they do not have essential oils or perfume. A big hug from Chile 😘
Ooooh you definitely have a touch of the Lolita about you today! I am like you though, I realise the only serum that I get from Japan is vitamin c! The rest are a bit confusing to me.
I saw that Centella 4% TXA serum and bought a couple, as tranexamic acid is one of my favourite ingredients. In Japan I like their toners, but for serums I definitely agree Korean is way better, the Kose vitamin c is pretty much the only serum from Japan but I have tons of KBeauty faves. I have tried the I'm From Rice serum and the Honey serum, but yet tried the mugwort one, so might try it next time
You should watch her older videos and she is half Japanese and has gone yearly to Japan to stock up on J-Beauty like Shiseido and she has done a review on SK-II as well.
Personally I wasn’t a fan of Shiseido’s Ultimate Infusion. I really liked the texture, but I found that it actually dried my skin out rather than adding moisture? I liked their Activating Essence a lot better, but it is pretty significantly fragranced and I found my skin to be sensitive to it at times (not sure if it was the fragrance or the ascorbic acid content). A very nourishing essence though. I gave both away to a friend yesterday actually 😅 (Skin: oily/combo, dehydrated, primary concern sebaceous filaments, secondary concerns PIH brightening)
Hi tina just discover your channel and I love it!! Please please series of acne / clogged pores sensitive skin. best budget products. Waiting for that to make a good purchase Take care 🍃
Have you tried the Sungboon Editor Green Tomato Pore Lifting serum? It is suppose to be good for pores and anti-aging, but hard to find any reviews on it. It is next on my wishlist!
Loved this video Tina!! grateful that you consider many skin types! I’ve been interested in skin/beauty supplements lately(korean, japanese + western). I was wondering if you have any experience with any?! would be a great video if you ever decide to try it out!
I just ordered tirtir milk toner, ceramic ampoule and sos serum. I have atopic skin, sensitive, super dry and dehydrated, but i get oily on t-zone and i break out every few weeks. I kinda struggle with my routine and understanding what to use. Every time i focus on one concern, the others go wild. Some of the products that you recommended as being hydrating are not hydrating enough for me. I heard that this tirtir brand works wonders on dry and dehydrated skin and that it has well rounded formulas, but there are not so many reviews. Would love to hear your opinion about it.
isntree also has a mugwort ampoule that i’m very curious about… they say it also has kavakava as an ingredient and i recognized the name bc my mom is super into medicine herbs and supplements and kavakava is one of the things she likes to use dhdhdh (i also first heard about mugwort and centella from her… she’s not even asian lol) i have PIE instead of PIH after zits (red spots instead of melanin spots) and i wonder what the best brightening serum would be for that… i was eyeing that haruharu one actually bc i heard tranexamic acid is an ingredient that can work for both PIE and PIH but im not sure OTL
Hi Tina, i tried the haru haru rice toner, Numbuzin no 3 and no 5 as well as etude's soonjung moisturiser. I am looking for a good alpha arbutin serum or cream to pair with my No 5 numbuzin serum for hyperpigmentation. Any recommendations?
I think numbuzin no 5+ is not essential oil and fragrance free.. I think haruharu is more gentle with lesser active ingredients and suitable for acne prone skin as well as not comodegenic whereas numbuzin no 5+ serum has niacinamide, TXA, vitamin C, arbutin, gluthianone and etc..
I dont know, she is truly graceful and beautiful, with a shoothing voice. However, this is sponsored, and she is not mentioning it, and she talks A LOT! I mean, she is giving 6 comments to everything she says that are anecdotal, no facts, just talk. The ingredients are "chill". 🤷♀️ ok, I will try it and see. Ahahahaha
My numbuzin no. 3 serum from YesStyle just arrived in the mail today 😍 so excited to try it! The ISOI rose blemish care serum is next on my wishlist-number 1 at Olive Young for 11 years in a row? Yes please! The ingredients list also passes the vibe check 😎
