46 years in this industry and I can tell you 98 percent of the shops I worked in did this exactly like the video, and it is correctly done. A few things weren't shown, certainly done however. Liquid levels, battery prep, tire pressures, brake disc wipe, controls check, idle check, lights, etc. I'm amazed that judging by the comments so many people did not realize bikes came not fully assembled. Take note of the clutch lever adjustment. It is correct, yet many will allow it later to get much looser and think it is normal. I run my own shop today and have a heck of a time getting customers to adjust their clutches correctly. Someone mentioned thread locker. That stuff isn't used in Japanese shops. No need for it.

I had a 2009 Vulcan 900 custom SE...I swapped out the exhaust for the Cobra Swept pipes when they finally released them in black and boy let me tell you....that brought that bike ALIVE! Transformed it from sounding like a 900 cc moped to sounding like a demon!!! Had the for four years, then sold it to buddy, who treated her very well. I miss that bike. This reminds of her (obviously). For the price, these Vulcans are pretty sweet!

I have a 2022 900 Custom that's teal and gray. It's absolutely not fast and enjoys state highways more than freeways. But it's easily the prettiest bike I've ever had. I can't stand riding in freeways anyways lol

Back in the mid 70s as a young guy I used to assemble new bikes out the crate. You would get $6-$15 a bike, it was all flat rate.. Back then that was great money.

The 900 is a very good bike, but personally I'd look at the Kawi RS900Z. Much new technology, more power, ABS brakes, etc., etc.

@trippontwowheels 3 года назад
@Bunnyshooter 223 Don't get me wrong, I'm a lover of Kawasaki. It's just that the Vulcan 900 has been virtually unchanged since 2007 I believe? Needs a 1300 cc powerplant, better seat, a sixth speed and ABS. If it did, I'd have two in my garage. It is extremely well built and reliable though. Plus many good used options out there. Not a bad bike at all. :)

I owned a Vulcan 750 and also a Vulcan 800. Both decent bikes, but all these Vulcans in the last 20 years are copys of a Harley Davidson with a shity sound. 😁
@jonathanmolina3529
@jonathanmolina3529 3 года назад
@@ElectraWillem Not a copy, just cruiser style. The cruiser style is American so obviously, Harley, Indian, Triumph, etc. will be the biggest names but honestly, Japanese brands took the cruiser market and made it better. The only thing the american brands have over the Japanese is the sound, which can be fixed like I did my 2003 Honda Shadow 750 and that is with headers. Now my Honda roars and you have the reliability

@@trippontwowheels Probably a joy to the assembler/mechanic. No oil, grease, or road grime on the bike as opposed to those that have been on the road. Nice clean assembly outside of some axle grease which is cleaner than used axle grease.

Great video! 😎 Although some have pointed out errors during the assembly (lack of using torque wrench), the only error I saw was the tech not bending at the knees when he laid the frame of the crate on the ground. 😂 I own a 2020 Vaquero, but have been eyeing a more rush hour traffic friendly (ie: narrower) smaller bike like the 900 for splitting lanes during my commute to and from work.

Had the 2020 from new for 3 months would never have bought if I was able to test ride. Fine vibration through handle bars at 110km puts your hands to sleep after 20 mins. It’ occurs on all years. Great for low speed city driving, def not designed for highway. Needed to spend $3000 to stop it all up. Traded in and lost $2000 instead.
