They finally did it! They fixed the kerning/spacing between the N and G! That has always driven me crazy, the way the N was jammed up against the G like that. But the Kings will always be purple/gold with the detailed crown logo for me...
You know what, I never really cared to much about that but it does look better in that way for sure! I agree with you though, purple and gold with a crown is my fav look for them
@@fantasticvoyage262 = when the Kings started, their purple/yellow colors were officially called "Forum blue" and "gold". I know it's not the metallic gold like on Panthers jerseys. The Pittsburgh Steelers also call their yellow color "gold".
@@DesertDrifter Whether its right or wrong its been a name people have called it for a while. Legit just look up "Kings Chevron Logo" and you'll find plenty of people calling it that. Same as the "Goat head" for the Sabres, is it actually a goat head? No but it's just a nickname
@@DesertDrifter What are you talking about?! The very first Kings logo and the current primary logo are literally TEXTBOOK DEFINITIONS of a “chevron.” Further, the 90’s Kings logo (and this “new” one) are also technically “chevrons” that are bisected by a horizontal word mark.
This version of the logo is definitely an improvement, despite how subtle the changes are. As a Kings fan however, I wish they had done something more unique and took a few more risks. Perhaps adding purple and gold, like a new take on the Reverse Retro 1.0, or taking the original crown and making that big on a black and white jersey. It's a not as much of a let down as the Ducks new uniforms, but disappointing nevertheless.
They definitely played it a bit safe, but I think depending on the jerseys it could improve the whole look. Hoping (and it sounds like they will) they keep the sparkly silver with the jerseys
Privious font looked more dynamic, more swift, so the whole logo was wider, bigger, more interesting, crown replace it's good reference to origins but it's not enought to save the day, not enougth. Let's see how it will look on a finished jersey from fanatics but there is not much hope for final result.
