I have watched your previous videos on the bx 25d you are a smoking good presenter, so much so I purchased one ..... But sorry not from you ... I live in Canada keep up the excellent presentations and good luck with the new models
As a BX23S owner, I will tell you if you're going to buy one and plan to drive it through brush, sticks, or woods and stuff, absolutely buy an under-armor upgrade (like BXtended skid plate) to protect the underside of the tractor. The HST Fan is extremely easy to break and it a pain in the rear-end to replace. Otherwise, this is an amazing machine.
Top notch video Neil, in a future video would you please go into some detail in how the loader number was able to get such a big upgrade. From a 240 to a 340 and if I understand right, the number represent kilograms. I just think that's phenomenal for Kubota to accomplish that.
Dang it Neil, you make me want to trade in my BX2360. It only has 104 hours on it but man that new one is nice. I will be down Saturday for some filters and fluids so I will take a look at them. Maybe I will visit Mel while I am there.
Hahah... you said the skid steer couplers are virtually a standard feature now, but with Kubota it's an option you have to pay like $500 for! I just got a quote on an L2501 and it was a $500 upgrade!
+TheKeatons4 yes, that's what virtually means. It's a option, but it's sold on most every tractor. It's installed on most loaders as standard equipment from the factory, but you can option it out in an economy configuration.
It's becoming a standard option, give them a few more years as new models come out they will all come standard with quick release and the pin on buckets will be optional
Thanks for such a great video. You probably already have plans for this, but please post a video detailing the new Easy-Over deck. I am especially interested in how the PTO connects and whether the PTO assembly is hanging down at all when deck is removed.
The PTO doesn't hang down when the mower isn't connected. The PTO is up in between the frame rails of the tractor, at least in the BX2680 I saw its tucked up out of the way.
I really wish your dealership was not on the wrong side of the country, I'd love to purchase from Messicks, sadly I don't have that option, just hoping my local dealer is good. Getting ready to drop the wallet on a BX2680 with that quick attach loader. Haven't quite decided which way to go as far as getting a mower or not since I have a relatively new (2 years old) lawn tractor already. I only have an acre and the lawn tractor's 42" mower deck seems to do fine, but gotta make a decision here soon, probably in the next few weeks.
Neil, quick question about releasing new series. Since the 80 series has been out nearly 2 years, how much longer do you think Kubota will continue with it before the 90 series (or whatever the next one is) comes out? We will probably be looking to buy a BX late next spring and I was just wondering if you've heard of any plans for a new series. Great videos BTW.
Neil - Thanks for all the informative videos. They have taught me a lot. Is there a way to re-route the big bundle of zip-tied hydraulic lines on the right side of the tractor? It looks like they would eventually fail after rubbing on the inside of the right loader arm over and over.
The pads on the outriggers should have been widen to hold on the ground better. We are on a slip slide while working with the backhoe as much as it moves back there.
Can the BX1880 do a decent job with tilling with the 42" land pride Kubota makes? 1880 is enough tractor for me otherwise but 3 or 4 times a year I will till a small area 50x100'. My local dealer insists I have to have a BX2380 for that application.
We would also caution me against it. That's not to say that you can't though, that's the beauty of these hydrostatic Transmissions. It's very easy to slow down and give the tractor more time to work.
When is this machine going to show up on the kubota website and when should we expect them at dealers? I'm getting ready to purchase a new 25D however i'm thinking i might wait for the 23 so i can get the skid steer quick connect.
If I were you man, I would personally just wait for the BX23s. It's like a much more advanced version of the BX25D and at most you'll have to wait a couple more months. I've been waiting for these to be available at dealers for months. I personally own a BX2230, and I think this is what I would upgrade to if I had the money.
Thank you for your very informative videos. It was your videos that helped me decide to purchase a BX2370. Only problem is I'm in Australia so didn't buy from you 🙁. I can email you my address if you want to send me a Messicks tshirt and hat to help spread the word down under 🙃
Did Kubota fix the throw of the outrigger levers on the new 23S? And I noticed that the 23S in this video had ties to the outriggers to keep them up. Is there a new issue with the 23S that Kubota needs to fix???
Messick Farm Equipment The "throw" I'm referring to is the movement of outrigger levers on the work station. A friend has a BX25D that he had to fix the mounting bolt and bend the lever back to get full range of movement of the left outrigger. Maybe Kubota should look at this issue and maybe install adjustable rods to keep the movement the same between both levers???
I need to convince myself to get a new tractor. I have a 1972 Kubota L175.. Which the engine is getting ready to go. However man these tractors get expensive..
I have a question for whoever can answer it. On the kubota website it states the bx 2380 has a max loader lift of 618lbs at max height. Is that with rear ballest weight or will it lift more with a rear ballest box. Thanks
Great video. Quick question: do you know of anyone who makes a pto driven rotary tiller that will work behind the BX1880's 13.7 pto h.p.? I really can't move up to the 2380 but most pto tillers I have seen require a minimum of 15 pto h.p. Thanks in advance.
Hey Neil, first off I'm an avid follower of your videos. Messick's does a great job! Are you guys going to be doing any videos on the bx23s being put through its paces?
Very nice. Wish I could have one. But on my income I can't. I could used the bucket, mower, back hoe, and rotor tiller.. just won't fit in my budget . Maybe one day I will. God will show me the way. Got house payment, thanks for what you doing here. I have learn a lot. With my heart problems this would be better for me.
I wish someone would point me to a source that describes the difference between B and BX series because I am skeptical of a lawn mower that is made to look like a loader and a backhoe.
That's a good suggestion for a video. I'll try and do that in the future. In the short term, a BX most certainly is not what your describing. They are quite capable of doing meaningful work, but like any tractor you will find its limits. Generally these are best in residential\consumer applications where your not real concerned about working on the clock. Every tractor series you go up will be more capably and productive.. but there is really nothing that a BX can not do.
That's a great idea. I've had 3 major projects on my property in the last 2 years. My little BX25 is often the best solution for tight spaces but when I bring it out, the contractors usually laugh. But by the end of the jobs, 2 of the 3 contractors went and bought BX25s. They are workhorses the backhoe digging power is nothing to scoff about.
sahmadi1000 I have a BX25. The one prior to the D model. I can assure you it ain't a lawnmower. The fact that someone makes that comment immediately tells me you have not seen one in action in person. My previous Kubota was a L3010. This BX takes longer on some projects but runs circles around my older L series. If you could see some of the 30 plus stumps I have dug up I can assure you, it would more than impress you. Go buy one, you will not be sorry I promise.
Problem is john deere has had alot of these features for years ie... quick change bucket or FEL attachments ,,, Kubota in my opinion is far behind the curve..
Deere's quick change is not SSL compatible. Its a propitiatory coupler that only fits their over priced implements. Kubota has had that for years as well. The big innovation here is using a universal coupler on this size tractor which no one else has done. Deere also has never had a remove from the seat loader or manifold for the hoses. Don't get me wrong, they make a fine tractor... but Kubota is generally a less expensive tractor offering more features that actually matter.
Kevin Miller could you, yes. but given the popularity of these machines you'll have dozens of companies customizing implements for it. there are already several from landpride. 48" snow pushes and such.
