Personally I like less cutting edge tech on construction equipment. Analog gauges, minimum high tech stuff, simple lasts 5,6,7,8+ thousand hrs. That's what you want from these, not some crazy touch screen with a sensor on every nut. Nice machine, saw the 97 in person finally, its a beast.
Amen, brother. Unfortunately, dipshit corporate executives will never understand this. I prefer low-tech pickup trucks too. Make them safe, but spare us the silly frills.
This is ridiculous... tech is king, we can easily put a sensor on top of all your sensors to see when your sensors fail. Then all you have to do is order one online and wait 8 months for them to arrive after a failure.
I own the 95 model and they fixed the def problem under warranty That was the only problem I had with my machine . And the 95 I promise will out push and lift and work the cat or John Deere skid steers I am looking to buy the 97 and add it into my fleet of current 3 skid steers ! The 95 is simple screen tells you what you need nothing fancy And has a crap ton of power you will be surprised with this machine running a grapple bucket , mower , breaker and auger and just a plain dirt bucket you will not be disappointed it’s a great machine
Great machine by all accounts, have one on order here in Australia. I agree with Cooper that LED lights should be standard. Here in Oz, the Intelematics pre-wired package is neither included nor supported unfortunately. Well done Neil for another good review.
The Kubota press release on the 97 refers to better cab sealing that might address dust in the cab? and issues with the evaporator getting clogged? Might be nice if we could see a video that addresses the improvements claimed in the press release
Ad blue is a pain in the neck and you always need new parts and you can actually start thinking about if this really helps the environment and in Norway its a catastrophe since we have such swinging in temperatures
I wonder why they don't take the screen from the excavators and put it in there....I agree on the camera location. I have smaller kids that would still not show up on the screen if they were behind the machine. Still a big fan of Kubota though! #kubotapower
I really wish Kubota would make a true small frame skid steer that was only four to four and a half feet wide from track to track like the bobcat T450. Additionally the kubota's with tracks are so heavy, you can't get them on a 10,000 lb trailer!
@@nathansouders6930 I spoke with a Kubota Store manager a few weeks ago and he said lots of dealers were disappointed that Kubota made the 65 too big for those that wanted a smaller track skid steer when they released it.
@@Skippy007 I built a custom camera housing you could hit it with a hammer and it would not damage it I figured it be safer back there so if there was a child or something you couldn’t see behind the engine compartment I have run into brush and All kinds of things and have not no issues
So, Neil … should I stay away from a gently used 95? What is an appropriate cost of fixing this sensor issue? Is it something a home mechanic could do?
It's worth having a dealership check and make sure all the update campaigns have been completed. Do watch the price on a gently used 95, I've been seeing these going for more than a new 97 costs.
@@ThatcherKSA my local bobcat dealer dealer has had zero machines on their lot the past few months. Everything that comes in is already sold. They’re getting calls asking if they’re still open. Crazy times
I like Kubota, yet a swing and a miss on these upgrades. How about a quieter cab, rear camera where you can see what is right behind you not on the cab and the position of the screen. The cab door makes it hard for a screen to be where it would be out of the way I get it but engineer it to not be sticking out that you will hit it every time your getting in or out.
not sure if the injector has changed, I do know that we highly encourage people to use the OEM fuel filters. They are 5 micron, the cross references sold at auto parts stores are 10 micron. We've seen this cause problems many, many times.
"unfortunately that DEF fluid offgasses ammonia that can go up and corrode the inside of these sensors" how absolutely ridiculous that Bosch made a sensor to test a fluid and made the sensor susceptible to a byproduct of that fluid. It's also even more ridiculous that DEF fluid, meant to help reduce diesel engine emissions, breaks down into ammonia which is a pollutant itself for both the air and water. If someone is going to make a fluid to help reduce emissions for an engine I'd have thought they would create a fluid that is stable at all conditions diesel engines operate at which DEF isn't, has a long life like diesel fuel which DEF doesn't, doesn't react to things like sunlight, and at least doesn't create pollutants itself.
Yes you are spot on this is not saving the environment its absolutely the opposite the same with egr valve they always break down and I can't really understand how this helps its just more money to earn on things that breaks down
Hey Neil, Off the subject but I'm looking for a strainer or screen to put in my BX2380 fuel tank opening . More than once i've left the cap off when mowing letting every thing in the air including grass clippings in the tank. Any ideas I really don't want to relocate the first filter for easier access. Thanks
It'll be either the same or within 5hp up or down depending on the affect of the 5th injector and any back pressure with the DEF system & or any changes they made to the EGR, the motor is otherwise the same. Edit: I'm not familiar with this size Kubota, the DEF system is common to the last few versions of the 95/97 so they have the same horsepower. rating 96.4hp
Both are stated at 96.4 @ 2400 RPM. We bought the last SVL95 the dealer had because the specs are the same, and the price for the 97 was a lot more for what little you get.
Ha you can type your PIN Number into the LCD Display at the Atm Machine to get cash so you can scan the UPC Code to buy your Def Fluid. Just check your VIN Number on your machine so you get the right kind! .... Dam RAS Syndrome
Has nothing to do with tractors and skid steers . 25 hp and under has no emissions, 74 hp and under has doc or dpf filter. 75 hp and up has def systems
Still no update on the cab! What a joke! The dust I breathe in using this machine is unreal junk! Thousands of hours multiple Kabota 95-2s not to mention all the times you have to drop the lower plates to clean dirt out of the bottom or the controls shake! Lot of improvements needed that keep getting over looked. Cat is way better! The cab is actually sealed legit! The reverse fan is awesome! Kabota is strong and reliable but no attention to the operator inside!
I like the videos. Well thought out content. "F", in "DEF" is for fluid. Saying DEF fluid is redundant. Also, always saying"Guys" is a great way to completely alienate women in the massively growing population of woman farmers. People, folks, operators...
