WHILE you are installing sod, give it a “water break!” After every 200 square feet, WATER the sod lightly with a hose throughout the entire installation process to prevent wilting or heat damage. Be strategic, avoid watering the bare dirt, concentrate on the sod only to avoid muddy ground. Once all the sod is laid out, follow up with a deep soaking through the sod and into the soil.
FOLLOW THE 7 3 2 1 WATERING GUIDE:
For the first 7 days = water 3 times a day at 7am, 11am and 2pm.
For the next 7 days = water 2 times a day at 7am and 2pm.
For the final 7 days = water once a day at 7am.
An established lawn needs 1 ¼ “ of water per week. Adjust accordingly each seasonal change and according to weather patterns, such as a heatwave or rain.
