New Layout Build - Additional details and structures

In today's video I start working through some outstanding details I've been wanting to get around to for a long time. I add some much needed walling behind the tracks in the scrapyard area and finally get some water effects in the drainage pond.
I've got loads of detail projects I've been wanting to do for ages. Now I have more time look out for more videos where existing scenery is added to or improved.

I am so impressed with your model. I am an ex BR employee ( 1965/2000 ) and drove electric trains on inner suburban london lines and recognise most of everything you have. Its the little bits like the familiar weeds that grow all over or the displaced troughing covers. We always laughed about knowing you were getting nearer to London as the graffitti and rubbish got closer together. Also the extraneous junk laying about near and on the tracks.👍

Hi have watched all of your videos since the beginning and your attention to detail is awesome but as a drainlayer you have made a mistake on the instal of the drainage pipe in the hill it would have a concrete pad under the pipe to prevent erosion from the water undermining the wall and the wing walls would be extended out further to prevent the hill from being washed out Otherwise brilliant work

Fabulous. Lifelike model railway. Have you thought about perhaps changing the lighting so it is a bit more 'sun like'? I saw photos of Rod Stewarts layout, and a major feature was the lighting. He made it look like a realistic sunset/sunrise which added interest both in the colour and the interplay of shadows on the layout.

I was wondering where the litter and graffiti was --and then you added it! You do need one solitary battered old trainer lying on the ballast with no explanation of how it got there. Also, I'd love to see how your visual effect works when the DMU on the branch goes under the mainline and does it's clever turn right, I'm sure the added detail will make that effect work very well.

I am in awe of your skill and eye for detail... your vision. I'm not a model railway buff, but waiting for new episodes I have checked a few other UK railway modeling sites and frankly, I find them wanting in detail but especially weathering- I now really appreciate the effort you put into stuff which is not immediately obvious, but brings so much cohesion to the layout. I was particularly impressed with the fuelling station you did a few years ago on the old layout. Your car must be absolutely pristine behind the bits we can see. A thirst for detail and getting it right which, and I mean absolutely no disrespect, borders on OCD?
