New LED Dash Globes for the Starlet | Cheap vs Expensive Comparison

On this episode I replace the factory dash and cabin incandescent globes in the Toyota Starlet, with new bright white LED globes. I do a side-by-side comparison of cheap and expensive LED globes. The results are great, however, I make some stupid mistakes along the way and break stuff.

Hey Crabby. I installed an aftermarket SAAS tachometer onto the dash. Now that I have the Haltech IC-7, I'll be removing the SAAS tachometer. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.

Hey mate good video. Just wondering what your wheel/tyre sizes are? They really suit the vehicle and want the same on mine also are you running coilovers or lowered springs?

The cheap LEDs were purchased from an electronics store which carries a lot of Jaycar stuff, the Narva ones were purchased from Supercheap. Jaycar should stock the same cheaper variety. I hope this helps!

Hello, I need advice. I wanted to replace the backlight bulbs on my Toyota Starlet. But I can't pull the dashboard out, the tachometer drive is too short (I don't get my hand to unplug it at all, but it doesn't look like anyone would do it on RU-vid videos) and I don't know if it can be pulled out without having to remove it from the transmission or not. So I wanted to try to unscrew the drive from the transmission, but it resists and I'm afraid I'll break it, so I quit and find out information. Thanks so much for any advice. Hi Karbomer. Sorry for the late reply. I removed the steering wheel to give myself just enough room to get my hand behind the cluster so i could pop the connector off from the cluster. Unfortunately, my connector was brittle and broke. On the gearbox there is a 12mm bolt which holds a small wedge in place. Once the wedge is removed you can remove the cable from the gearbox. Mine did not want to budge. My cable broke due to old age. I am going to do a quick video on this when the clutch in done at the beginning of July. Keep an eye out for it.

Super video! Už v pondělí se pojedu podívat a koupit taky jednu starlet . Nesvítí jí přistrojová deska, tak doufám, že to bude taky jen žárovkami. A hned mě čeká cesta přes 400km cesty domů, tak to snad oba přežijeme ve zdraví :-) A do budoucna by se hodil návod na výměnu venkovní kliky dveří. Budu ji muset měnit. Možná natočím návod sám, pokud na to přijdu. Ale je to tak jednoduché auto, že doufám že ano :-)

@@GsAutos Zdravím. Překlad byl pochopitelný :-) Včera jsem si starlet přivezl. Cesta domů asi 450km., byl jsem sice trochu rozlámaný, ale toyota to zvládla výborně, je to malá raketka :-) Nejel jsem nijak úsporně a výpočet spotřeby po dotankování 4,83l per 100km, málem mě to položilo :-) Teď jen dát postupně do pořádku a dopřát ji údržbu, mám tam nějaké drobné závady a kostlivce. ❤ah starlet..Very underated in some countries..Here in Greece thousands of thousands still exist.No one sells them..Powerfull cars according with displacement.Unbreakable also..Of course i have one😂😂😂..Still with the original 90s atmosphere at nights..dull and somehow mystique😂😂..no led for me,no no.
