Love your videos. I own a 77 SCOUT ll since 82. All stock doing basic maintenance and much love. I live in L.V NV where it is in weekly use in the desert,mountains, etc around the SO.WEST. Thanks for all your parts throughout the years.

You guys are doing the Lord's work here! Powder coating is an awesome tough finish. Done right, it can replace exterior paint, especially if you add clear-coat. Do you have access to an oven large enough for the entire tub/firewall?

PS: SCOUTS in 1979 and their larger 4x4 cousins from other makers were considered "TRUCKS" not "CARS" at the time and as such NOT subject to the same FEDERAL regulations for crash worthiness or general safety.

That is a really cool looking truck.....and I do enjoy the feel and tone of your videos too. Enough info to make it interesting but also some lighter-hearted elements to keep it entertaining too. I'm planning that trip.....

The 6 point cage, does it actually tie into the frame or does it go just to the body? These scouts are quite a bit heavier than say an old jeep CJ. Having a 6 point cage is good but if its only tie to sheetmetal, its not going to do a whole lot og good if you roll this thing. Just wondering, otherwise, these things are awesome.

The tailgates on SCOUT II's were incredibly HEAVY! They were made of SOLID STEEL just like the body. Inside, the seatbelts were only of the one point, "lap" variety. Not the REQUIRED THREE POINT SAFETY emergency braking sensing crash BELTS we're ALL familiar with now in EVERY modern vehicle.
