I get it … I suspect the simple video made an impact to your thinking! The truth about everything is always about being comfortable with your version of happiness … I knew for me I needed to get a full balance of work and personal … during my entire career in Canada I was very unbalanced … 90% work / 10% personal. Regardless of financial achievement the full lack of personal time is the absolute way to truly hate your situation! (For me). Patrick

It’s working for me on a minimal school teacher pension. Never been to glad to have gotten out when I did. Teaching had become so stressful because of the meetings after meetings and myriad rule and curriculum changes that it no longer was fun, for me nor my students . My third trip yo Las Terrenas, and this time, I’m staying.

You hit the nail on the head. I'm 44 and my husband and I are at our prime professionally. But we are stressed and not happy. We decided to sell it all and move on to a simpler life. We worked hard so we deserve to enjoy the next half of our life.

Love this video !! So true! Thank you for sharing and nudging us to wake up! We work so hard all through our lives with the hope of retiring one day and enjoying life but only to find out that when you are no longer on the production line producing this income, one cannot live on the $1500-$2500 per month you get from social security in the USA. My mortgage alone is about $2200 per month. Thank you for showing how to exit the matrix and move to paradise!

Always remember the simple formula …. Total assets turned into true USD then use a budget of let’s say $2000 USD per couple = the number of months of your runway of life (if you chose to never work again). Pro Tip: don’t forget to add a form of interest monthly to your nest egg you turn to hard dollars into your runway plan. I fully get your situation and mindset … as I was there. For me, it wasn’t a conscious choice but a deep understanding that my happiness wasn’t to be achieved in simply gathering endless assets! Each of us is different but at the root … the runway of life calculation is the to the point full understanding of your situation, remember overall living in DR is 1/3 the cost of Canada …. And that alone is a huge point! Patrick

@@GoDominicanLife I understand what you are saying…totally. Life needs to be a balance. We get one shot at this life and we need to make each day count. Unfortunately I don’t just mean cost of living, working, etc. There’s a lot of political turmoil going on up here and our once free and democratic country is rapidly changing into something very scary and sad right now. This coupled with the never ending increase in our costs of just maintaining a simple life is getting harder, taking its toll on us. Thanks for the great videos and education. I’m trying to learn more each day about living in the DR, real estate there, etc. Thank you!
