Russell, I totally agree with you on the tires, that's what I put on my scoot and got them from Bike Bandit as well, before installing I painted the wheels and came out pretty nice with the VHT brand in gold....
So, I guess I have to ask... What's next? :D I wish you lived on the East Coast. I've got a 1981 GS550 that is 70% complete and I'm just stuck. Really enjoyed watching you rebuild this little scoot.
Bridgestone Molas ML16 4x10 Scooter Tire from bike bandit is the best fit. Fatter tires will hamper a little speed, but also risk rubbing in the back if you were to upgrade your shock. Get these size tires soon, as they have often run out of order. I had to order fatter tires because I could not wait any longer, and now order a pair ahead of time for my next change, after I loss some HWY speed and hi speed stability with the fatter tire. I ride everyday as my main ride. almost one tire per year, the rear wears out more than the front. The CH250 stock rear shock are usually pretty bad by now and gives you the pogo stick sensation, and many of us have switch over to the CB350 rear shock. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LGgnNQrKXHg.html Mitch has a great tutorial on shock upgrade!
I was looking at the ML16's but they were always listed as "rear only" tires, so I got a set of 120-90-10 ML50's front/rears. 4x10's are 110-90-10's so there should be room with the 120's. $120 for a set w/free ship/no tax.
You have more leeway to put the wider wheel in front so no worries! i.imgur.com/eabbFdX.jpg I ve been following pretty closely with you as I am doing my scooter, and delighted that I finish right up after you. You been a great help! Thank you!
