Do you by any chance have a video on servicing/lubricating the speedometer cable? All of a sudden, my digital speedometer is now stuck at "0" no matter how fast I go.
I got a 2019 yamaha tmax dx last month And been told by a garage that the rear disc and pads need changing.. and quoted me £386 !!!!! Ridiculous..might have to go back to a 300cc honda forza
Hey Big Wheels I don’t suppose you or anyone here knows what the black plastic cap next to the idle adjuster screw on a T max covers I hit it with a screwdriver it cracked and air hisses out there is a nut behind it that I screwed in to try and stop the leak but made no difference I’ve now backed the nut out a bit but I have no idea what this nut is adjusting all I know is the fuel consumption is now sky high Any help would be well appreciated thanks 🙏
There’s also a lower passenger backrest available that goes under the included one right over the black colored corrugated area that continues the silver side bands around the front. Apparently it fills the need for a lumbar support since some have complained the current backrest sits too high. The only issue with adding the lumbar one is that when you open the lid to near its upper limit, the two backrest pads meet and stop the lid from opening any further and left alone without holding it then shuts itself.
I know this might sound funny, but it's true. I watched nearly every one of your Yamaha T-Max videos as I owned one for many years and it helped me with quite a few home maintenance chores, but I have since sold it. When I didn't see any activity from you in a long time, I was concerned. Glad you're still kickin! :D
You do great videos, thank you. My 2019 max is making a weird rubbing like sound when I’m in the mid range speeds. Sounds like it’s coming from up front. I’m guessing it’s the speed sensor. I believe I’m approaching 20k. Have you had this problem?
Haloo! I have a 2009 T Max 500 and I have a problem with the signaling, it never stops. When I turn on the ignition, the left signal starts, when I turn on the right signal, the left and right signals at the same time, and if I press the button in the center to cancel the signal, the left signal remains active. I have taken apart and cleaned the control of the signaling, everything is fine...do you have any idea where the problem could be?...maybe from the signaling relay?...if it is from the relay, I don't know where it is mounted...can you help me, please?...thanks in advance!
I love all the helpful videos, very well done. I have a question I cannot seem to hold the fins on the front plate tight enough while I drive the nut off of it. How do you recommend for someone without that Tmac tool you have?
Love your video series here. I stayed up late watching them. I made a CAD design for the brake plate cover door thing as mine was missing. Be happy to send you one of you'd like. Just need to know where to send it.
Hi sir.. i have problem with my suzuki gsxr 1000 L7 is overhit 100c went i stop ad trafic ligth.. went the bike move the temp go down ito 85c.. what do you think my bike problem is?
Sir, the fact that you managed to find such a way of getting this mod done is really impressive. But since English is not my main language and also that my knowledge in electrics is zero, I confess that I'm lost (not completly but enough). Tell me if I'm wrong, I understood that you had to DIY some things in order to get this mod done, which "scares" me a bit. Is there like a "shopping list" of things I would need in order to get this mod done without getting getting too much involved into modifying things ? I'm really motivated into realizing this mod because I clearly understand how better it will be for comfort and security to have the lows beams working. I will open-up the fairing you mentionned tomorrow and take a look of the surroundings, it may help for my understanding with your video aside. As I said, if you think of anything that would help me in the process, I would apreciate. Having a big look at your channel, since i'm planning on doing the service of the tmax myself for the future ! (Mine only has 10K miles, quite good right ! ) Have a great new year, Abtine
That would depend on if the other owner made changes to the wiring and to the LH socket. The LH socket on OEM is a dual high/low bulb and the RH side is only a low. In this video I just ran another wire to the LH side to tap into the low beam bulb. Mine still has the high beam on the LH side, but I almost never use it at night. The dual lows provide better light. Check to see if you still have the three pin socket on the LH side.
@@bigwheelsturningi dont have 3 pin,my lights stock are h7 they have only 2,dual lights is better but they light in front of me and i cant see the road far away
Does it look like "stuff" has been changed with the bases? You in the EU with LH high beams? At one time I was going to see if I could get a "british" RH lamp assembly, so I could have both high and low beams. If it looks like one has been swapped out; you might try getting the correct base and switch it back. Let me know which side you drive on to be more helpful.
@@bigwheelsturning im in eu,they are changed to leds, and the high beam switch is disconected, instead that wore from low ligh is connected to high beam so they both light up now,and the high beam is adjusted low,so i have 2 low lights
@@audiophilipp I guess only way to fix it is for a complete redo of all the wiring and head lamp parts. Or redo it over to a new HID system. Never done one so I can't help.
Ok, so I replaced the thermostat, flushed the radiator and it's still overheating. It is also puking coolant from the overflow. Could the water pump be bad at this point? (I have the same Tmax 500 as you).
Not having all the tools you have-while the tire is still on the bike-let air out-drill 1/2” hole in center of tread. Then I take a knife and cut the tire into two half’s - then brake the tire down then take each half off-much easier for me.
The only rider who really goes by the book, excellent. Can i know what the rpm is when you first start up the tmax(cold)? . I know it should idle at 1100-1200 when in operating temperature, but im afraid that when. I'll try adjusting it i may adjust it too high. Thanks sir for the info
@@bigwheelsturning im asking u sir because when my tmax is in operating temperature, it idles in 700 to 900rpm,jumping back and fourth and i dont like it
@@aminemohamed1201 The SM say to warm it up before working on the throttle balance. So wait until the temp gauge is up first. The Idle in the SM say between 1100 and 1300 rpm's when warm. Check/adjust it again after the air screws are balanced. Be careful with the hot exhaust when adjusting the air screws.
I know this is eleven-year-old video but I'm having the same problem mine was not working so I ordered a replacement. When I put it on its acting in Reverse I made a video to show what's going on I can ride the bike with a kickstand down but not up. I kept the original part. I'm going to see if I can swap the wiring I wonder if something got reverse somehow on the new part that is malfunctioning all I need is the caliber to go in and out the old one got stuck. In the springs were all corroded what is your thoughts if you are still around? m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8sK3Ptq8SVA.html
On my Tmax the side stand switch is normally open, and held closed when the stand is up. That makes the starting circuit with the kill switch. Both must be closed for the started to function. Yours must be backwards or the wrong switch. Your side stand switch is in line with the kill switch and the neutral switch. So it must be closed when the stand is up. Hope this helps.
@@bigwheelsturning I took off my original side switch wiring and hooked it up to the new kickstand device that controls the kickstand I took a picture and sent it to the maker. The new wire was wired up in reverse to the switch an plugged in 1 way.lol crazy things people don't check or properly do for parts we pay for
Yeah, I'm elbow deep in my 2009 TMAX right now, thanks to your video. I replaced the thermostat, still overheating. It puked out a bunch of brown coolant. I'm gonna flush the radiator later today and see if that solves the issue.
@@bigwheelsturning I replaced the ECU by a new one and the scooter started. It worked for about 10 minutes and the coil burned out. I replaced the coil by a new one but the scooter does not start and I get the fault code 37.
@@beethoven859 fault code 37 a "throttle position sensor" reading. It says it's either the "throttle plunger" is stuck, or the throttle valve is not fully closed. Also check the ground on the coil too.
Thank you sir! I just performed my very first brake pad change. Front and back! If it wasn't for you and your vids there's no way I could have done it. Thank you, and thank you again. Your videos are treasures
