Unfortunately, I've had to make an updated LilySilk video because I've seen a decline in quality. Many of my opinions have changed since this older video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nhCthKKCs6Y.htmlsi=rEl1rWu8OGlGHDns
I love silk❤️, its so elegant, btw love your shirt and what you did by testing ,it is really helpful and now I trust Lily Silk even more. After watching your video, I'd really love to buy one pillowcase...btw I had brought a silk shirt from Lily silk recently and I just adore it, very smooth and flowy . Thx for sharing the review😍👍
Thank you! I'm so happy to hear that! The shirts are so classy, and I love that they create an effortless but elegant look instantly ❤️Thanks for watching 😊
@@traingirl.meghan hi Meghan, I’ve been searching for a review about Lilysilk size guide. I’m interested to buy their Deep V Sleeveless Silk Vest (the one with lace on shoulder). And I’m also 5’5” tall. I’m usually US 6 for Massimo Dutti tops. My chest size is 94cm, C cup but I’m wearing bra size usually 34D. I’m not sure if I should purchase the LilySilk vest in S or M as I saw some reviews stating the top part is loose but body part isn’t. Any suggestion?
@@cynthiab8377 If you're 94cm around the chest with a bra on, I would suggest a medium. That should still give you some wiggle room. A few reviews on their website say that specific top runs a little small. If you decide to order it, let me know how it works out!
My experience with LikySilk is that the items run a size small, or even two in the waistbands, if you have minimal waist definition like me. I size up in the tops because I need room in the bust, I’m a 36E. I’ve been pretty happy with the items I bought from them and wear them a lot, I’m looking forward to getting more. Tip: batch your orders as much as possible, multiple-item orders really go down in unit prices. My last order was six items, but the cost was the price of five items, or a bit less, had I ordered them separately. They often have trouble filling orders, and their website is terrible.
Are you still planning on making the update on how the lilysilk items held up? Both your videos on them were very helpful and informative, I'd love to see if they last as well!
Thank you for your comment! I'm so glad these were helpful. Yes, I'm hoping to make an updated video this week. I plan to cover what I've worn the most, how everything has held up, how I washed it, what I recommend ordering, and small tricks about the website. Is there anything else that would be helpful? 😊
Here’s my honest review of Lily Silk. Hope it’s more balanced: Order: Although appearing to be easy and the good deal with buy 1 get 1 25% off plus a site wide 20% off, there was no itemized pricing for the 4 items I ordered. This is very sneaky as you will know soon. Shipping: The purchase arrived in a week, not bad at all given it has to travel across the globe. However, still no packing slip to show itemized prices or even what I ordered until I opened each pack. Packaging: Unlike the RU-vidrs who show nice boxes, my items arrived in envelopes, and items are all wrinkled. I returned two items that I did not like, including this one. They refunded me 20% less than what I had paid. There was no explanation or breakdown in the email from the customer service about how they arrived at the refund amount. After calling their US office, they explained that they refunded based on the deepest discount, so for the two items I am keeping, I am paying the least discount. Not sure if they are intentional, but with each step conveniently leaving out the itemized prices, it certainly left me wonder. I now don’t want to keep the remaining two items because I don’t want to be reminded of this horrible experience every time I see these items. Guess what? You only get one opportunity of free shipping for returns and now I am responsible for the return shipping, too. Bottom line: RU-vidrs are all biased in their reviews. Many often don’t have to go through the same purchasing experience we do. I wish their reviews were more balanced but they are paid up. Unless you are absolutely sure you want the items, the items will fit, and the prices are clear, do not purchase as it is not worth the wait for arrival, return, refund, and additional stress and inconvenience dealing with Lily’s customer service. Go to Banana Republic store and try on an item and see it in person. It is so much more straightforward and clean, with comparable prices (or better when on sale) and better quality based on my touch test. I gave 2 stars because to be fair, the quality of the other items is not bad, but the seemingly low price certainly comes with an inconvenience premium. Thank you very much, Lily Silk for teaching me a lesson about ordering from an overseas manufacturer that does not share the same value of US customers.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Just to clarify, I was not gifted any items from LilySilk. I made this video a couple years ago as a normal customer, but I'm not buying from them anymore. I have recently made an updated video that I've linked in the pinned comment. I feel they've drastically declined in quality.
It's hard to say, but I would think a medium top would fit. The size chart is great guide, and there are a few extra inches of fabric. I have wider hips (about size 6US/10UK) and a size medium waist, so I always order the medium. Hope this helps!
Hi Meghan. I’m interested in ordering the slim fit blazer; the website tells me I am a medium, although I’m not sure. I measure bust 90 cm; waist 77 cm. Please let me know which size you thin I should order. Thanks 💕😊
It's hard to know for sure, but I would go with the medium. I've found their size guide recommendations to be reliable. I looked at the size chart for the blazer, and it seems like a medium is your best bet. Hope that helps 😊If you do order, I would love to know if it works out in case anyone else has a similar concern!
@@traingirl.meghan Thank you so much for your reply. I agree that I should probably order the medium, as I have long arms (😊) and the small might be too in the arms. I shall definitely let you all know how I get on. Thanks again 💕
Hi Meghan, I need to buy pants and they say size 33B. Now in their size guide they say 33 is US equivalent xl, which us the one I want. But the confusion is that they say 33 B, so what exactly is pants size 33 B?
Sorry, I've looked at every pant style on the US website, and I'm not seeing any 33B size. Which style pants are these? I see some of them have size 33, and this refers to inches. The B might just be a website error, but I'm not really sure.
No, I've never heard of Ravella. Thanks, I'll have to check them out! Hmmm I can't say I have one favorite brand for silk because it depends what I'm looking for... Saloni and Lafayette 148 are my favorites for silk dresses. My favorite trendy silk tops and shirts are from Rebecca Taylor. Lily Silk or Vince are my favorites for basics.
So you can get white marks on darker silks if you rub against it when putting a shirt on over your head, but they wash off. White silk will get yellow stains after many wears if the deodorant has aluminum in it, but that's true for any white fabric. As long as I wash my silk shirts and don't let a buildup of deodorant sit there for too long, it washes nicely.
Absolutely! I've loved to hunt down silk pieces in thrift stores since college. It's a great place for something high quality and unique. Thanks for watching!
