2023 has been an incredibly productive year of for the New Lock at the Soo. Project Manager, Mollie Mahoney, joined us in the Virtual Visitor Center with a presentation about the ongoing construction. Mollie highlights the progress made so far and work planned for next year and beyond.

May God bless all those in the soon working on the locks. I've been through the Soo locks many times on the Katmai bay.

Good update and progress for this major update for the Great Lakes. What tolls will be assessed to pay for these major project(s)?

There are no tolls for vessels at the Soo Locks. Think of it as part of the federal transportation system. It is supported by the Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund and federal taxes.
