Mike, You do not have to convince anybody except yourself. I am almost 70. I have a Toro Dingo TX425 widetrack walk behind. I also have a Bobcat 743. I work alone on a 6 acre farm with around 1000 laying hens. I have other equipment too but the Toro Dingo gets used daily and sometimes for hours on end. I use it to load my sawmill and for moving manure / wood chips. Your choice in equipment is evolving and I think you have made some very wise choices. Thanks for another great video and for being an inspiration to us all. Bless your family, prayers always. Hey, watch out for those sneaky sandbags on your way back to the house to get lunch...
My little town was devastated by a hurricane several years ago. We were soon inundated by clean-up crews and Vermeer mini-steers were very useful and were less destructive to wet lawns.
I don't think people understand it's not a skid loader replacement for dirt work. It's a small maneuver machine that has the lift capacity of a larger skid steer.
That mini-skid would be excellent for moving tools around in my shop, but to even rent one is far more than its worth....I just work slowly and carefully with my tractor and pallet forks....but in a larger scale need, for sure that little mini-skid steer is by far a great asset especially in cramped areas, where you can't even get a regular skid steer into....which wouldn't even fit through the door way of my shop....my little tractor just fits through the door way of my shop.....add onto that, so many homes in these camped subdivisions don't have very good access to the back yard, some don't even have a gate to the back yard, so you have to oftentimes remove a fence panel, or a few to get access to the back yard for landscaping and other tasks....so the mini-skid is the right tool for those applications as well. They're expensive, but they're also very versatile, tons of attachments you can get for them to do pretty much any job you need.
I have been watching your channel since number seven when you had the 3901 Kabota the box store splitter and the side by side. People don't stop to think how much that equipment saves on time and an aging body. In south Mississippi we use to use oyster and clam shells for our base on driveways and private roads. Our material is a couple hundred millions years younger. Have fun and stay safe!
Mike, I run these mini skids hard from time to time. The wear and tear on my legs & knees are unbearable. But I am old guy so my joints are already worn out! They definitely have their purpose and fulfill a big need!
I think it's very nice of you to try and explain to some about the convenience and practicality of a mini skid, especially in your close quarters situation, though not sure if some will get it even after your explanation. I think most of us already know, especially those of us that have been watching for years, that you don't do or buy anything without a lot of thought and/or research first. I can see and know others do as well, that the mini skid you bought is perfect in your situation. I wonder if some are thinking too much about the cost, and since none of us really know your cash flow in and out, it is a concern for some? Any business is about production, and anything that makes that process more efficient, is an asset for sure. I'm curious what the plan is for what type and size of tractor is in the future for OWTM, especially for brush cutting, but will wait and see what that might be in the future, like everyone else. Have a Day!
Im all for it Mike. Im in 100%. What am i all for? Everything you have, everything you do, and so far, i agree w everything you say. I would suppose that's why OWTM is at the top of my favorites. What 6 years now!! I wish you could earn 100 times more per video. Heck, a thousand times more!! I hope you stay happy turning that camera on, and never lose interest in sharing w us. The truth is, I'm addicted. In no way, shape, or form, do the dollars you make affect my life one nano bit!! So i can only wish and hope you remain happy doing what you do because it sure makes me happy!! I love your channel. Thank you so much for putting up w the haters and naysayers. Thank you mostly for sharing your life w us. Your real is refreshing. So far above all the crap offered us elsewhere. Thank you and bless you.👍🚜❤️🙏🇺🇲🇺🇲
Another great video. Honesty goes a long way. Happy Birthday 🎉🎊🎂 Hunter. Keep on keeping your Dad inline. Congratulations Tyler. Everyone proud of you.
What adverts? I pay for Google Premium and adverts do not appear. I live in a city in England and just love seeing the woods around the Morgan property and the work that happens.
I miss my old Case 580 ... but times change ... I saw all the newer skid loaders being used by contractors .... they are very versatile ... and used correctly much safer ... everywhere I go I see more and more skid loaders, tracked and wheeled
Mike, totally agree with your explanation of dealing with those certain commercials that you were speaking of and to where you to spend those savings. Please keep up those public service announcements. 😊
hi there you will never know what you dont like /care for till you have it , most likely it uses 1/2 the fuel to move things .and i believe that is what it will be used for the most.Good move to me .
I suffer from tailbone pain on most tractor or lawnmower seats. The older I get the more I hate to get up and down to sit. The pain is absolutely the worst when you are moving to get up after sitting down. The stand on would be way better for me.
Personally I prefer a tractor tired forklift over either one of these for just moving pallets and logs. I think you have easier access than the skid steer but you have better viability than either and is safer. But if you could only have one piece of equipment it would just be a 4wd tractor with cab.
MIKE, you got a good eye for figuring out volume and weight and stuff, so just asking, how many ton of #3's ya think you'll need to put down on the new road?
Mike, you know you really should have bought...wait, I got nothing. The first piece of equipment I ever rented was a mini-skid and they are extremely easy to run. The controls make sense...have a ton of visibility, are small and have a ton of capability.
Tell Hunter I said hey big guy have a great day the hunt man is a big Bust to you being a great father and mentor all your children have learned well and God bless the whole family amen
anyone nocking the miniskid hasnt used one. . there indispensable. In my opinion tractors are usless. never used one i lked. i also have the bobcat version of the avant. best thins ever made. great choice mike.
LOL Mike, Good impression, now if you can figure out how to fix your gaze at some indeterminate mid point that doesn't align with the direction your moving in, relax your jaw so your mouth is hanging open, You'll have it nailed! Let's go Brandon!
Mike I remember going out to breakfast every Sunday with my Grandfather He got the special Eggs bacon white toast and black coffee it cost $4.99 ! Today that very same breakfast cost $15.99 ! A dang chicken sandwich and ice tea cost $13.69 and now take out orders want a 25%tip! It's simply ridiculous
if you add a brush cutter to that Vermeer, you may not need a tractor - with your skid steer, you can easily do your driveway work...I have a skid steer, tractor, and excavator - all bobcat stuff - but would rather have a stand up than my tractor - 😁😁✔✔✔✔
Mike, I know WHY you explained your purchase, being this IS RU-vid! But you don't really owe ANYONE an explanation for what you do, what you buy, or how you do things. You do YOU! If these "couch know-it-alls" did only HALF of what you do, they would better understand your reasoning. I honestly do not know anyone that does as much research as you do, in ALL THAT YOU DO! Whether it is a purchase, political comment, state of the union, inflation, whatever.....you are ALWAYS CONSISTENT IN YOUR RESEARCH. AND YOUR MATH IS IMPECCABLE!!!!! 😆🥰
To all the naysayers, I say this. No one is twisting your arm to watch these videos, keep scrolling! We all have different financial means, health situations, perfect families, not so perfect families and on and on and on. This channel has evolved and I don't care for all of it myself, and if it gets to me that bad, I will move on! If you don't have positive input keep it to yourselves! You're cutting into my time watching by Mike taking time explaining what a pain you are! He owes no one anything! Now get to work mike, you have a pond or something to mess with! lol
Your money, your game. I see the advantages of a mini. One thing you never touched on is the fuel savings. If you can do the same job with the mini , that means the Kubota would be overkill. Great video, God bless you and the family. P.s great Biden impression
Mike I agree with your reasoning about ads. I have chosen to pay RU-vid premium so I don’t see ads. It’s my responsibility to select what I see, not you. Love, love your channel and will always be a subscriber. Thank you and your family for all the wonderful highlights to my day.
Yeah so your paying a California ran leftist platform that will cancel culture everything to death just look how he can’t even say bulliets or firearms without getting demonized but the nazi tube but your happy with supporting them !!! Turncoats
Yes, same here. It’s the most important value to me of having YT Premium…not having ads. As for Sponsored Ads, I’m okay with those because I realize they can be an additional revenue stream for a content creator, plus I never feel as if I’m being pushed to purchase a sponsored product.
You lucky guy... "nearly"... I wish I'd had that luck too!!! Now I have to clean the keyboard and the whole desk! But it was worth it... 👍😉 Greetings from Belgium ⬛⬛🟨🟨🟥🟥
Mike I agree with you. When I use the forklift at ( something I don’t do often anymore) it to is a pain getting on and off to put skids under the load or just adjusting stuff. Your machine wouldn’t work for me because the stuff we move weigh in from under 100 pounds to thousands of pounds. But I will say you have to be careful and not get thrown from that machine. I don’t think it will happen to you because you don’t seem to run your machines hard. As I tell my fellow employees slow down speed kills.
I rewound that lunchtime “walk off” because my wife heard me laughing. “The idea that…” people feel the need to tell you how to run your business is also hilarious.
The mini reminds me of the stand on reach lift I used to run step up and on and go not climb up and sit down and go .that mini is going to be so handy .
@scottoliver8251 The scariest thing I realized a couple of years ago... no one is running the country. Which really means the evil one IS running the country.
I don’t know Mike, I have never had any ads. Maybe because I have a RU-vid subscription. It doesn’t cost that much. Not having any ads is a blessing worth every penny. Have a great day
I totally admire your family and you. You are a very honest blessed man with a huge amount of knowledge. I think alot of these complainers are jealous , ensecure in what they have or don't have. Keep on going as you are! We love y'all.
Good Morning Morgan Family 🌞- Have a Fantastic and Blessed Day 🤠. 34 degrees this morning out here in Montana. I have the woodstove going to take the chill out of the house. I think the mini skid is a really versatile tool. The only drawback for me and my operation is the lifting height. Life is way too short to get all worked up about all the nonsense in this life in which you have absolutely no control over.
Mike, your comments about the gradual shift in the popularity of tools made me smile. It also applies to the fuels they use! Just look at how battery tools are infiltrating your arsenal. I think that the mini skid is a fantastic fit to what you do. Just like it is a mistake to use any tool too small for the job the reverse is almost always true. Can't believe that people are complaining about any ads. It's rare that you have to watch a whole ad - and no I won't choose to watch an entire ad even for you! :)
Mike and family. Have been watching your channel for about 1 1/2 year. Enjoy your videos common people. Showing how projects and equipment and everyday life can be. Really enjoy the channel for free and learning new information. Thanks.. Mike
You’re 100 percent correct, I watch this channel to learn and laugh and y’all accomplish both very well. I have RU-vid premium so I don’t have to watch ads because it’s pretty much the only thing I watch. Keep on keeping on.
Good morning Morgans and friends Happy Birthday Hunter!! Enjoying some rain overnight and this morning, the 95% humidity not so much. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
A lot of people don't have the experience in equipment or cant see the entire picture while sitting inside the frame!. After building roads, highways, and site development for over 50 years I've learned some things watching your channel!. And after running bobcats since I was 16 yrs old at 68 now its a pain jumping in and out all the time and the mini skid is a perfect solution, and the fact that you can do so much more than most people think, which I'm sure you will show in the future. You have a great learning channel and the know it alls shouldn't be so quick to judge!. I'm not a big fan of commercials, but I understand how it works. It's also FREEDOM OF SPEECH!, but it's OK for viewers to use their free speech in negative comments!, it is what it is and fair to all people!. You don't need any fabric your stone is only as good as your sub-grade and it's excellent especially with a layer of #3 limestone for your base rock!.
Mike, health to drive your wee Vermeer. Its up to you what you purchase, you are the only one who knows what machines you need to buy for your homestead.I just say thanks for taking us along on the journey.👍
As always, enjoyed the video, and love your attitude, when you talk about things , you have a great outlook on life in general, plus not afraid to say what you want, and don't care who doesn't like it ..stay true to yourself 👍👍👍🤣🤣🤣
If you can only afford one machine I still believe the Case 580 is still the best all around machine but if you can afford multiple machines than there are a lot of options. The best part about this channel is watching you run multiple machines, more power to you Mike! Thanks for great content! ✌🏼❤️🙏🏼 Gotta love precious metals 💪🇺🇸
Watching your vids over 2+ years and seeing your families progression.... I think you guys made a great choices for your wants/needs and future growth. As always great vids, many thanks.
Happy birthday Hunter! No one machine is a do all. Your new addition is safe and efficient and a perfect fit for your intended use. Climbing in and out of a skid steer all day is not fun as the years go on.
Hi Mike, I am really pleased to see the new road turn out so nice. I have cut a few roads in the bush before, and I think people underestimate the planning and steps involved to get a road that will last. You should be proud of this road, Nice job Mike!
Can definitely see the benefits to the mini skid, especially in the wood yard. Not climbing in and out a million times a day while moving logs for the mill or baskets. And maneuvering in tight area having full visibility. Not even time saving, but saving on your body on the in and out. Not sure on the negativity, but as a mid 20s father, and homestead style person, you do a great job giving an example of someone to look to for solid advice and exceptional work ethic.
Good Saturday morning Morgan family! Happy birthday Hunter! Saw Tyler got 14th, great job! Have a fantastic weekend! Mike your solution to the advertisements is priceless. Precious Metals 😂😂
