As a combination skin girl, the Guerlain powder is exactly what I’ve been searching for in my perfect all-around powder. I just received it in the mail this Thursday but it’s already in my top powders of all time. The finish is absolutely the most gorgeous, elegant, skin-like matte I have ever experienced. It’s SO smooth, but it doesn’t blur TOO much that you look fake or obviously made up. It pairs IDEALLY (as expected) with the Parure Gold foundation, wears incredible over SPF or tinted moisturizer alone, and I just couldn’t understand how perfect it made my skin look but still believable. The massive amount you get is HIGHLY appreciated because it’s the one product I use every single day, along with SPF and lip balm. I can see how a dry skin might have to make sure to properly prep, and better to use a light hand with a brush rather than the puff. But my gosh. I am just blown away by it. So so happy I picked it up and it’s worth every single dime. They knocked it out of the park for me.
@@LexiJong It’s truly fantastic. And now that I own the primer as well, (which we spoke about in another video) the whole set and routine has been the best thing I invested in! My skin has NEVER looked this good! 😊
Hi Lexi, amazing video content and reviews. You always have the best products and give the most intelligent insight. I think the Mario powder is impressively blurring and also seems to neutralize any natural rosiness without appearing too heavy. All lipsticks are incredible on you which is why you are the luxury lipstick go to channel given your collection and knowledge. I'm really happy I got the Gucci lilac highlighter. Although I haven't tried it yet it looks stunning on you! Thank you for being a resource library for all things luxury beauty! ❤❤
Thank you! So far I prefer the Mario powder myself but I need to wear them all more to see if anything changes there. Thank you so much for watching Pam!
When you said you had a lot of items today, you were not kidding!!! I would LOVE a video where you compare all of the primers you mentioned!! Request for the next Gucci highlighter video: Comparing Gucci lilac highlighter to the Addiction Tokyo Aurora Veil Nuancer shade. Also the Gucci Sunrise Gold to the top 2 shades of the OG Dior Backstage Highlighting quad in Universal. Thanks! I love Dolly. She is a national treasure and a true philanthropist! I’m going to try Honey Plum and Birthday Suit! (But they all looked great on you!) I have been eying the Byredo matte in Septembre but Ombra is gorgeous, too. 🤩
Yes! That's a great idea. I'll see when I can add that in. Great comparison idea for the highlighters. Unfortunately I don't have the Dior palette but can definitely check out the Aurora Veil.
Phew! That was a lot. It's overwhelming at times when so many new releases come out, I get choice paralysis and end up not wanting to buy any of it. But you always pick the best of the best and sort it all out for us. Every single product I've purchased based on one of your reviews has been spot-on. Clearly, we both have good taste! Have a great week, Lexi. Thanks for all the hard work you put into your reviews.
Lexi, Wow when you say you have a lot of products you’re not kidding. I don’t know how you keep everything straight but your review on all the products are so thorough. I’m glad to hear you like the Gucci highlighters I’ve heard mixed reviews. They look like they give some serious highlight. The Byredo lipstick look awesome with some major pigmentation. I ordered a couple but haven’t had a chance to open or try on. You picked some beautiful shades! The Guerlain powder looks nice I would be interested in where you rank it with the rest of your powders. Thank you for reviewing so many products and the great swatches!! 😊🌺
Thank you! Maybe if you are once again doing comparisons in the future video for Gucci highlighters, I would love to see comparisons to new ILIA cream highlighter (I heard its a dupe for WA super loaded cream highlighters) and also WA super loaded cream highlighters.
I swear any color looks good on your lips . I love how courageous you are with makeup and color . I could never wear that red or bright and deep colors and feel comfortable but they look amazing on you. So none of the lipsticks are for me and i was intrigued by the Guelain powder but idk i dont use alot of powder just alittle finishing powder usually. Wow their was alot of stuff in todays video i like the collective aspect of the video with abunch of reviews in one video . O i saw that mario puff it was obnoxiously large 😂 it looks more like a body puff or something. Wow that gucci highlight you can see from space it almost looks like a large single shadow . I feel like we are headed back to 2016 with some of these highlight releases. Great indepth review as always Lexi . Im always looking forward to the next video .
Thank you! I have so many things to share so expect another one like this soon. I agree that the highlighters are getting blingy again. I still would love a few subtle highlighter releases personally.
Lexi I purchased the shade Rosebud in Dollys new lipstick 💄 and am enjoying the formula , it's a perfect every day color. I am a senior lady and this surprised me , it really stays on and doesn't feather on me (that's a big deal) and I don't use lipliner 💋 She is a pure joy to our world 💖 I enjoy all your awesome reviews
I’m considering getting the new Gucci highlighters. Originally, I was thinking about getting the Sunrise Gold, but in swatches I’ve seen, it barely shows up on the skin and doesn’t have the glow that the other colors have. Since I have light to medium complexion, I think I’m going to get the opal pink. But I might get that beautiful lilac shade as well. Once they’re buffed onto the skin, they have a beautiful glasslike finish, which I really like. I also like the fact that they apply like a gel but are easier to pick up with a brush. I’m so happy to see that Dolly Parton has her own cosmetics line. She’s such a music icon and such a beautiful person, both inside and out. I particularly like the rose bud and honey plum shades, and they appear to be more sheer but buildable. The honey plum reminds me of black honey by Clinique, which I used to wear back in my teens and twenties.
Thanks for the deep dive into powders today! I don’t usually wear powder, but some of my sunscreens leave more glow than I’m comfortable with. Still using the Koh Gen Do moisture powder you recommended a while back. It’s very nice. ❤
Thanks Lexi! The Guerlain powder is speaking to me. The Suqqu brow and highlighter looks good and the Dolly lipstick looks classic Hollywood on you. Stunning❤👏👏👏
How unexpectedly beautiful this lilac highlighter is, I had to scroll back to see it again on your face! Its a real highlighter that brightens your face like no other, see for yourself in the video if you can, incredible, though it looks scary in the pan
Hi Lexi! Thank you so much for featuring all these new items! The Suqqu primer looks great. If I decide to get the new Suqqu collection, I will definitely order this new primer as well. When you swatched the 3 powders on your wrist, I thought the MbM powder looked smoothest. But on your cheeks, I could not see any difference at all between the 3 powders. The new Gucci highlighters are intriguing. The lavender shade reminds me a lot of WA’s Peau de rose. I hope you soon receive the other shade you ordered. I look forward to your second opinion about these Gucci highlighters, because all the stellar reviews on Sephora have been incentivized. The Byredo Electric State shade is fabulous on you! Thank you for another great video.
Thank you Jocelyne! I am really enjoying the Gucci highlighters and I think I will do a highlighter collection video when my last one arrives. Unfortunately they sent the wrong one again so now I need to buy it elsewhere.
The opal pink sheen at least on camera blended in really nice w your skin tone and gave a more natural glow. I imagine it will be gorgeous as blush or bronzer topper too especially w fall shades. I'd love to maybe see you use it in a fall look 😊I love that Rosebud pink shade and the Honey plum. They are so flattering and easy to wear
Hi Lexi! Thanks again for such detailed reviews of the products!❤ In terms of powders, how do these two new powders compare to the new RMS powder? And which one is your favorite so far ?
Such a great review lexi!! Living in Texas my whole life, I love that you picked up the new Dolly Parton lipsticks. They look beautiful on you and I am a forever Dolly fan. The highlighters from Gucci and Suqqu look beautiful. Do the Gucci highlighters have a fragrance? They all look so pretty. I’ve been using a smoothing and mattifying primer that has a little bit of salicylic acid for my skin that’s been working well from Spatch skin. The Suqqu primer sounds great. Such a treat seeing you on a Sunday. ❤ Enjoy your Sunday!!
Thank you Yulia! Dolly is wonderful! I haven't noticed a scent with the gucci but will be sure to check that out and include it in my update. Have a great Sunday too!
I have been looking forward to the Gucci reviews, especially yours, and will pick-up my Sunrise Gold and Lilac tomorrow. Opal Pink also looks good, reminds me of the colour of Pat McGrath's first highlighter. Big Dolly (music) fan, thrilled that she made one for Jolene 😀.
When I heard that the Byredo lipsticks are now refillable, I bought “Echoed Note” and I use it daily. I blot it on my lips, and just add some gloss during my very long work day. It’s a winner!
I have the AT new pressed powder, the KOG new pressed powder and the CDP pressed powder. They are absolute favourites, there’s no more space in my heart for another power.😜
As a non-American, I had to Google Dolly, just to realize I actually know many of her songs by heart, as I grew up with the tapes, that my father got on the blackmarket of communist Romania, back in the day :') isn't that funny? In hindsight it makes a lot of sense, as anyone with brains was actively supporting the Allied in Europe. So did my father, so yes, he would get involved in USA culture. Given what a US national treasure she is, I am genuinely surprised the production is in China. Nevertheless, I added her lipstick to the "Things I'll Buy When I Visit The USA" list of mine :) I keep forgetting Byredo exists and that Lucia Pica is over there, must keep in mind, becuase her chanel lipsticks are now drying up on me, so I'm hoping to dupe some deep reds over Byredo :D Thank you for the thorough reviews, as always!
I am so glad to hear that Dolly is so well known outside of America. She is truly a treasure here and a great role model imo. I think you will find some beautiful deep reds in the Byredo line!
Nice! I was hoping to see the new Suqqu products soon😊love the packaging design on all!! And the formulas look good. Is the finish/sheen on the primer similar to the Rose Tint from Chantecaille? I think it would be nice to have a more hydrating creamier version for winter. I'm almost out of my coloured brow gel from Winky Lux which I really liked but it's not easy to get in the UK. I definitely need a new one soon. Speaking of Suqqu 🤔did we already see previews of their holiday or winter collection? I don't recall seeing anything yet
It is similar but slightly dewier than the Chantecaille. It definitely feels more moisturizing to me than the Chantecaille. I haven't seen any previews yet but I can't wait to see what they have coming out!
Hi Lexi, thanks for buying the Gucci highlighter and unboxing for us. My friends and I are so interested in this Gucci 02 Lilac and westman atelier super loaded peau de peony. They both seem like cool pink/purple tone and pretty. Could you compare the difference between them and which one would you recommend, please? THANK YOU ^_^
I haven't used the Chanel loose powder in many years so I don't feel comfortable saying at the moment. I always prefered the Givenchy to the Chanel so it's been a long time since I have bought it but I should pick up a new one to test it out.
Dolly’s Lipsticks Look Beautiful and Very Reasonable at $20.00☺️ Her site says they will be adding more Colors as well. Look forward to trying… wonder what retailers will carry??? ALWAYS Find Your Videos VERY Helpful…. Thank You Lexi‼️‼️👏👏👍😃
Hi Lexi! Thank you so much for yet again some wonderful reviews ❤! I’m super tempted by the new Suqqu primer, but can’t find a list of ingredients anywhere 😢. My skin can’t tolerate any HA or derivatives (like sodium hyaluronate), and no niacinamides - could you please let me know if the formula includes any of those 🙏🏼❤️? Thank you 🤗
@@LexiJong thank you so so much!!!! It looks so good, but of course it has sodium hyaluronate 😭!!!! Guess I’ll just have to stick with the highlighter (which I didn’t intend to pick up originally but you totally enabled me - again 🤣), and the brow pencil!!!! And maybe the brow gel too 😅🤦🏼♀️😂🤣
Hi Lexi! Thank you for this super helpful, as always! I miss my Givenchy powder as it was the only one who seems to not emphasize my very dry skin by the rhe end of the day. Which one of the Guerlain or Makeup by Mario did you find was replacing the Givenchy the best in that matter? The cold month are coming and its so hard finding a good nondrying setting powder!
Hi Lexi, As always, great video! What's the best Blurring Primer for Mature skin (normal) ? Looking to reduce size and appearance of pores. Pretty good w skincare , just started using Retinol (SkinMedica lowest level which is 0 .25) and no issues Gucci Gel Highlighter in Lilac is trying to get my attention, and I will wait to test in store!!,😅😅😅😅 Love Dolly Parton, will be watching for launch!! The Byredo 💄looks beautiful on you! Not a fan of the deeper shades and the price is a little steep! Appreciate the details you provide! Ty.🎉🎉🎉
If you want hydrating, I would go with the new suqqu that is coming out and if you want something with no texture, the Surratt perfectionniste primer. I still like to add the Sisley Blur Expert with a kabuki brush for extra blurring. You could even use that on its own without an additional primer as it is basically a powder primer but I pair them.
In terms of enhancing texture if any would you say the Surratt or the Gucci is more ‘smooth’ looking. I heard someone say in another video they thought the Gucci enhanced texture… though I think it looks gorgeous on you!! ❤ but wondering what you think if someone had some texture which would be better ?
I emailed them to see what's going on. It's supposed to be available now according to the suqqu official website but I'm not seeing it anywhere. I bet some of the department stores are holding it until the 12th with the other items.
I'm not seeing that the Makeup By Mario powder has any fragrance mentioned in the ingredient list. I think that "less than 1% fragrance" is just a general "clean beauty" standard that Sephora uses (e.g. they are pretending that fragrance is clean as long as things have less than 1% of it). Thanks for your informative video. ❤
I think for me, the Mario is slightly better but it's close. My skin is normal/slightly dry right now so if your skin is dewier than mine then I think it would be hard to tell much of a difference between the two.
No, I can't seem to find it yet and I'm wondering if they decided to hold it until the rest of the items launch. Suqqu says it has officially launched so should be available.
