Let's talk new makeup releases and decided to purchase or pass. I can't believe how much blush there is right now, and I'm going to have to skip most of it. I was going to try "no buy July" but I thought of the SG sale. I knew I was better for me to put myself on a no buy during a different time, because I'm not missing the SG Christmas in July sale! I need a break from new stuff, but I'll have to think about what content I can make without new purchases. Thanks so much for watching today, and enjoy your weekend.

Thanks so much for watching. I think "I need to try it for science" is my way of giving myself permission to buy it. : ) That's what I do with my youtube ad money. I make more makeup purchases.

Oh I will definitely be trying the new YSL liquid lip! For science!! 😂 YSL makes some of my favorite lip products; their colors just work so well for me in terms of less white base and they have a lot of depth to them. I’m really interested in the hourglass blushes, but I will hold off to see reviews and use up some of what I have. I love the Tarte shadow formula, but I don’t ever use large palettes. I rarely use shadow, unless it’s just a neutral 2-3 shade look.

I love Gen See liquid eyeshadows and am super interested in the blush . $74 FREKEN DOLLARS FOR A LIP OIL! WHAT ON EARTH ARE WE THINKING? That Sephora set with the blushes looks amazing for the price as most are full size. Oh I got one of the new glossier ultra lips in Decco - soooo pretty

I hope you like the new ultra lip. I'm still trying to convince myself to skip it! BTW, I wasn't meaning to post 2 videos today. I was driving all day yesterday (to seattle and back for a neuro pain appointment) and I was worried I wouldn't get home in time to finish editing this video so I set up the 5 favorite cheek products to go live at midnight. I DID have time to finish this one when I made it home, but forgot to change the date on the other one to Monday. Oops. Now I have to work extra hard to get more recorded and edited over the weekend.

I recently introduced myself the Rhodes line and purchased their skincare set that comes in the puffy light grey zip pouch along with 2 of the new pocket blushes in shades Piggy & Spicy Marg. The blushes are nice and enjoy both the shades and formula. They’re easy to blend, even with your fingers. The skincare is also very nice. Wish the moisturizer was a larger size for being full sized because it’s a lovely formula. The milky toner and the cleanser are stand-outs for me. I don’t know if I will repurchase though being in Canada because the shipping took forever but we shall see. Perhaps in winter, I’ll be more in love when I can see more of a change in my skin with dryness. Like I say the moisturizer is very nice but wanted the full size to be larger for value. All in all, I think the brand is solid and enjoy their products, no complaints where formula is concerned. Glad I tried them overall.

@@tanhome7 what a great review of the line. I tend to stay away from name celebrity owned brands. Fenty and Rare ore the ones that I use regularly. It might be time to try Rhode. 🤷‍♀️ I've been eyeing the Milky toner, blushes and the lip balm.

@@thelipstickgal same with me, I’m sceptical of celebrity brands but lately I’ve tried Rhode and also bought a powder bronzer and blush from REM Beauty and both experiences have been positive for me. 🙌🏼 Like you, I like Rare and Fenty too but I’m not married to any celebrity brands at this point. I do enjoy Haus Labs too! If you end up trying Rhode we need to know your thoughts please 😊

I'm so glad that you enjoy these types of videos I love recording them, but they take so much more time to edit that I don't make them as often as I should. Maybe I can convince one of my kids to help me edit, and pay them in makeup.

I’m surprised about this… the new ordinary lip balm is so soft and silky I wore it over night and my lips are plumped up and super soft … ugh the container sucks! Hate the lid 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 I need more blush 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤣🤣🤣 I haven’t found a liquidy cream one I like yet hoping on Huda and hourglass today I’ll let u know 🤣🤣🤣 the Paula’s choice 2% really works my nose has not been oily even with make up

I'm trying the new hydrating toner from the Ordinary, but I have the 2% from paula's choice in my skincare cabinet. I like the new ordinary lip balm, but you're right I HATE the lid. It struggle to get it on without the threads catching and not going on straight. Such a bummer. I LOVE the formula, but that packaging isn't my favorite.

Oh yeah let me know how that is been thinking about it! I love the ILIA milky toner I’ve been using it like a moisturizer it’s sooooooo hydrating!!!! And feels so silky it’s so expensive tho but u only need a few drops it’s in a thick glass bottle really nice heavy

I buy toooooooo much! I am trying not to buy blush. I'm trying not to buy powders. I may have to try something for science! When I first go back into makeup I absolutely loved Tarte. It is an easy pass. I was born to shop so I am sure I will break down and buy something soon. I actually bought Miami Nectar from Ellis Brooklyn yesterday. It is summer in a bottle. I do like the black packaging better tho I been thinking soooooo hard about getting 100 or 710 I got several things from the Nordstrom sale the hourglass lip kit and Armani lip glosses …. the Lancome is okay it’s not too minty I was so hesitant about (actually the hourglass I feel it more) I wish I would’ve gotten the warm pink or roast me the swatches are exactly accurate online I got 36 and it’s really cool pink lol

I bought a lipstick today that I did not need !!! Like you - love lipsticks and it was the YSL Bold lipstick that they stupidly have discontinued !!! It only came out last year ! What is that about? I put the Kiss of Death on anything I adore! lol That Hourglass blusher is not here but when or if it does..... I am going to take a look at that !

Wait! What? They discontinued The Bold Lipsticks? WHAT?! It's a formula that launched in fall of 2022 here in the US. It hasn't even been 2 years yet. I'm still seeing them on the YSL, Sephora, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom websites at full price. Usually when things get discontinued (Like the Rouge Volupte Shine) they get a serious mark down on every site. Maybe it hasn't happened here in the US yet? I hope this isn't true. That would break my heart because I love that formula so much!\

@@thelipstickgal Well they have taken them off the Australia department stores online site and I was in store today and the SA told me they are just moving them out and not getting any more.... she said something about new lipsticks but I can't believe it either !!! They came out here (Australia ) last year ! Nuts ! lol The ones I would love to go are the matte long line ones with that weird square shaped bullet! Yik.

@@mistyguinto2503 one uses the Heimish Artless Glow Base, the other one is currently using the Beauty of Joson SPF 50. I usually pick up a K-beauty or J-beauty SPF on sale for all of us. I have my favorite, Missha, Heimish, Beauty of Joson, HaruHaru Wonder. They're lots of great SPFs from the Asian market.

@@mistyguinto2503 oh, thanks! I made sure both kids had a good habit of washing and putting on spf before makeup. They’re in the habit now, and tell me every time we’re running low on spf or face wash. I don’t do more than face wash, SPF, and moisturizer with the kids. I feel like the Sephora kids trend is way too much. Neither of my kids need actives, and I don’t encourage things like sheet masks or retinoids. There’s time enough for that when they’re much older.

I’ll be buying a liquid Hourglass blush. I have a $100 Sephora gift card from redeeming 2500 points so I want to get one of those blushes and the new #15 Hourglass blush brush that is made to go with the blushes. God know I’ll be able to use it with the 400 other blushes I have too so it’ll be a plunge on account of the gift card.

I'm so glad you have a gift card. I was waiting to spend my point until a $100 gift card was offered, but that hasn't happened for me. I finally used 500 points to get $10 off. I felt cheated after doing that, but I had 2850 points and no gift card offer. : ( Enjoy the new Hourglass goodies. I hope you love them.

@@thelipstickgal in regards to the $100 Sephora gift cards for 2500 points - Sephora doesn’t automatically give it to you once you hit that threshold. You have to go onto the app or site on Tuesdays/Thursdays when the new rewards drop and then put it in your cart and checkout. It’s an actual reward that you have to “work for.” As an example, I’m in central standard time so I know that around 11:00 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays the new rewards drop so I sit on the app under Rewards section and refresh constantly until I see the $100 gift card and then I add to cart and check out before they all get scooped up because they drop a certain amount each Tuesday and Thursday and once they’re gone for that day, they’re gone. There are also lots of really nice rewards for 2,000, 2,500 and 3,000 points that are totally worth it. You can tell they’re from high end brands who put together an assortment of really cool things specifically for Sephora.
