I recently turned 50 (and have 1 son, no daughters so don’t need to buy makeup for anyone but me) so to be honest I am only interested in luxury makeup these days. I have accumulated a pretty large luxury makeup collection for a regular consumer so I need to really be wowed to add something new. That being said I really LOVE the Sweed & tower 28 tubing mascaras - they are the best I have ever used (plus I have a “bung” right eye that waters alot and is really sensitive and these 2 mascaras don’t cause irritation). Since I change my mascara religiously every 3 months I’m glad to have found 2 reasonably priced options 😊 Also - there a quite alot of your US drugstore/Sephora brands I sadly can’t get here in Aus (and overseas retailers won’t ship here either). but in general I can get all the luxury brands one way or another!! I really enjoy shop my stash videos (we all have so much makeup we need to be inspired to use it), will I buy it and comparison videos to see if anything is similar to what I already have. Save vs splurge videos are also great. I enjoy your content so pretty much watch all your videos (originally found you via your Lisa Eldridge reviews) no matter what 😊

They're supposed to be sending me eyeliners, mascaras and a lash serum. I can't wait until they're here! I love a tubing mascara and my current favorite is from Heimish. @@thelipstickgal Oh that’s great you are getting some items from Sweed in PR 🙂 I just ordered a blush to try as well as new mascara (I love the dark brown one, I’m blonde/fair skinned with very light eyelashes so it’s perfect for me). I’m a long term Chanel fan but have been passing on a lot of the new releases this year. When it comes to Aus I’ll be passing on the latest fall collection for sure but I might try one of the new cream to powder blushes. They were released here in Aus early Aug but are permanent so no rush to buy until I at least saw reviews. At AUD89 a pop I didn’t want to blind buy and I truly don’t need more blush….brands I’m keen to try are Merit, Prada, Valentino. I have not renewed my Selfridges membership (only place I can get Prada & Valentino makeup) because they bumped up the annual cost to AUD95 and minimum spend of AUD175 per order to get free shipping. I think that’s just too much especially when my staples are more $$$ there compared to Aus due to the exchange rate right now - so I reminded myself I do have enough makeup anyway so can live without new brands for now!!!! Fingers crossed Merit is available for Aussies to buy somewhere/somehow soon - their lippies are high on my list to try!!! 🙂
I would love a foundation stick roundup/ranking. I am definitely more into luxury than drug store but I would also love a ranking of makeup artist brands or mid-range brands. These seem to get less focus yet are by and large my favorite (Lisa Eldridge, ABH, CT, Mario, Patrick Ta, Danessa Myricks, etc).
@@BrendaBostonGirl I think I only have 4 foundation sticks. I tend to prefer liquids over sticks. But the 4 I have, I really love. I haven't tried enough to be any sort of authority. I like the idea of ranking brands is a great idea. Thanks!

The foundation match doesn’t look bad on camera…how did you feel about it the rest of the day? I’m excited to try the foundation stick but I’m usually a 3WO and not sure how 3N will pull on me. For other content, would love to see a “will I buy it”, “will I repurchase it”, monthly capsule makeup or how you rotate through stuff, etc. would be interesting to watch.
@@thatjedininja it wears really well. I'm not sure how this would work in dry skin. I didn't need to set the full face and it stayed fairly matte all day except in my t-zone. It was more of a natural finish with a slight glow in my t-zone. Not greasy, but subtle radiance. I like the way it wears on my combo skin. Thanks for the suggestions on what you'd like to see. That Dior contour shade is perfect for me and I am extremely pale. It's my HG! I do draw it directly on my face but only a small amount. It blends so well. And I'm very cool so it's a brontour on me. I love it! I haven't bought the foundation stick because of the shade issue. Dior actually doesn't have a great shade for me in foundation. The 1CR looks kinda orange on me and is too dark for me, as well. Maybe I could use a 0CR (Zero Cool Rosy) or even 00CR, but they don't make one even though they make a 0N. I might try the 0N. It's odd to me that they would make such an ideal cool bronzer/contour for me but still haven't made a cool enough/ pale enough foundation shade for me.
@@Christine-uf3oj I agree on the lack of shades in the foundation. The undertone in this 1CR is good, but it's a level too dark. I'm thinking about trying the 0N shade because come cooler months I'll be even fairer. 😬 I want something I can use all year round. I'll have to try putting the contour directly on my face. Maybe it'll blend better with a damp sponge than with a brush. I defaulted to a brush because I like the fountain better with a brush. 🤷♀️ Thanks so much for watching.

I have been waiting to hear your thoughts on the Valentino lipstick. This was SO HELPFUL!!! The new case is so beautiful, I almost got one just for that reason! (Their old red case was so cheapie). I really wish the formula was more nourishing and comfortable, though. I will keep my fingers crossed they do a satin in this case. I don’t think this formula will be for me, unfortunately! But fortunately you saved me a purchase I wouldn’t use much! I am LOVING your luxury makeup content so much! I think “will I buy it” would be fun too!
@@virginibab7709 hee hee! I'm glad you're interested. I really like how the foundation wears. It's not too radiant, but stays on all day. I don't have any of it breaking up on my combo skin. It looks good over my drier patches but doesn't break up on my oily nose. It leans a little on the matte side for me, but I'm not mad at that. The lipstick is really lovely. The more I wear it, the more I like it. I might pick up the red shade. 🤷♀️ I need to do a no buy month. That would be good for me. I've been out of control the past few months. I've actually been thinking about doing a no buy or low buy for September.

0N is probably what u needed it’s too light on me and 1N is too dark 😐 maybe I needed 1CR 🤣🤣🤣 more like .5N lol … is it actually pink leaning? 0N is neutral 1N is kinda warm
I love that they even offer olive undertones but the peachy undertone of 1,5N is strong! Since i can only handle their fragrance around the eyes, it will be ok for brightening yet a true Neutral is different
@@marionallen2222 I don't feel like it's pink, but perhaps it's because the entire line pulls warm. 🤷♀️ I was thinking about trying 0N, but want to wait until my local Sephora begins carrying it in store. I'd rather swatch it in person instead of getting the wrong shade again. Perhaps this 1CR is the best/closest shade for me. Maybe they'll expand the shade range. 🤞
@@marytaylor8482 it did set without powder. I like the look and the wear time. Only my t-zone is oily, and not nearly as much as it used to be. The rest of my face is normal, and this sits really nicely on the face. I really enjoy it. It lasted 12 hours on me without breaking up and looking like it needed a touch up. That was impressive. Now, if I could get a better shade match because in winter this will be WAY too dark. 😬 Thanks for watching.

I'm a BIG base fan. The new Patrick Ta foundation and Huda beauty tint are extremely exciting to me. I appreciated your doing the the dior stick. CD color range has always been terrible for me. A big thing I loveee is hit and misses videos . Basically a final say in products you tested in the past month or even months as thoughts change with more use. I really enjoy your input. And new releases are always great especially as holidays coming soon😵🤭💛

I might pick it up anyway. 🤷♀️ I was surprised that the undertone of a "cool rosy" shade worked for me. I never wear cool toned foundations. I'm always in the neutral range. It's so confusing. I love your content and watch it all! Question..I like wearing some matte reds but have yet to find one that doesn’t leave that terrible looking ring inside my lower lip as it starts to fade. I’ve tried many brands including high end. Are my lips the problem or do you have any recommendations? Thanks!!
Thanks so much for watching all my content. I really appreciate that. I find that that ring happens to me when my lips are drier, and the formula is also on the drier side. To combat that, I exfoliate my lips, add on a hydrating balm that I wipe off before I apply my matte lipstick. I also like to line my lips and fill them in with a matte liner before applying the lipstick. I tend to choose a hydrating/nourishing matte formula. Guerlain, Lisa Eldridge, Dior, Charlotte Tilbury. That keeps my lips happy the longest. If I do get a built up ridge of color, I wipe it off, and reapply my lipstick over that spot. That's my best advice. Thanks for asking.
Oh, thanks. They love it so much and use it as a source of expression. My youngest left the house today with blue eyeshadow on one eye, and pink on the other. Yesterday was blue with white clouds and rhinstones. I just love the creativity, and I keep them in fun stuff like press on false lashes and white eyeliner even though it's not stuff that I would use. I want the kids to have fun with makeup before they have to worry about office appropriate.

I really hope Lisa brings back the discontinued colors as limited release here and there so we can restock our favorites. I just checked 3 other retailers, and those shades are all sold out. I'm sorry. I picked mine up from Space NK during a 20% off sale just weeks before she announced her last chance sale. I'm glad I have it, but I'm sad I won't be able to restock it. Bloom is a lovely shade, and I'm glad you're loving it.

Did you notice one day last week everything on Lisa's entire site was like 25% off. I think it was a total mistake, bc it wasn't advertised as a site wide sale. I am glad your girls are liking SG too, overall I no longer feel that makeup is a great long term investment which is why I whittling down to staples only. I only want items that I am going to reach for over and over, and SG is that for me for eyeshadows. For me just too much money wasted on stuff I only used a few times and gave away, I have other things to save for. And they do look nice on mature eye lids, at age 51 I can attest to that. I am glad you still talk about them because not many people do.
I do love SG eyeshadows. They really suit my taste and are everything I'm looking for in an eyeshadow. I understand why you're moving away from makeup. I'm such a makeup fanatic that I don't think I'll ever stop wearing it. I can only imagine how much extra cash I'd have if I wasn't spending it on makeup. I actually have grown to really love the new Fenty gloss sticks, and the last one I added to my collection before my attempted. No, nobody was RiRi. I think in September, I’m gonna finally try the persona multi stick, the ones that can be used on cheeks and lips cause I’ve been eyeing bubble and several of the other colors for so long because I hear they’re beautiful. Glad you’re enjoying yours as well.
The texture of the Persona stick is so nice. Bubble is too pink for me, but I'm thinking about picking up Mojave and a different blush color. I'm also really liking RiRi. It's such a lovely formula and I LOVE the packaging. Thanks for watching today.
Some times, if the writing is too small I pull out my phone to take a picture and enlarge it! : ) My eyes are OK. The older I get, the farther away I have to hold the lipstick, but I can still read it.
I haven’t tried anything new lately but I’m curious about Sweed Beauty Le Lipstick and am considering giving Shiseidos TechnoSatin lipstick another try, a less dramatic shade than the one I have may be less messy. Although I’m probably going to wait for Lisa Eldridge’s next launch before making any new purchases. The Queen Musia ones are not for me but I really liked Ada on you in one of your previous videos!
I like Ada and Becky Sharp the best. I really enjoy the formula, but would love more color options. I haven't been reaching for my Shiseido lipsticks and I should. I've got some products coming from Sweed, but they're all eye products. If I like them perhaps I'll pick up some lippies. I'm saving my pennies for a LE launch. I hope we're getting blushes this time around. I would also love to have new eyeshadow palettes.

So now I mostly use the Dior but still use some of my other stuff occasionally. I'm pretty much set with all my makeup now.. I'm not surprised that you have Molly Bloom. It's a lovely light peach shade. I really like the feel of the Queen Musia on the lips. They feel very comfortable, and every time I reach for them, I'm delighted when I see them. The Dior lippies are so good. I particularly like shade 100 in the matte. It's a beautiful nude shade that's easy to wear.

I think this lip is a combo of MUFE wherever walnut, Sephora luster lipstick in Cosmic Signal and a beauty pie lip oil in solar nude. You could get a similar look with a pink leaning nude pencil with a sheer brown lipstick with a nude gloss.
I really like the Lancome Formula. It's like the YSL, but $20 less. It's hard to put on too much of either formula. I really love the RMS in Beachwalk Betty. Such a great formula. Thanks for watching.

(A limited edition gloss from last season) You could easily recreate this look with a nude liner, a sheer layer of a pinky brown lipstick and a nude gloss.

I’m trying hard to hold out for fall but I fell for the Sephora lip sampler. It had the MUFE lipliner and Summer Fridays balm I really wanted to try, so for $42 I got those and three others that look really good! I might get a liquid blush in the next Sephora sale, I’m a bit more drawn to the Armani but want to test them both in store.
