100% I loved using this planner this year, but I never used the goal-setting pages. Looks like I need to find something else for 2024, as that cost is insane.
Ill be printing again this year. I'm a discbound planner. Still no 7x9 undated that i can punch. But hey, you all got the spiral coil so they are making progress. ❤
So last year this year I used the companion notebooks which worked great as I was in transition with my yearly planner. I’m going with a sterling ink planner and will use a combo of HB90 and MäkseLife in it so I only have one planner. Being Europe I can’t justify the cost of planner, shipping and duties. Sterling Ink offers flat rate $8 US for shipping. Awesomeness. So thanks Sierra for having the printable resources. So thoughtful. But damn I want that washi!!!! Great review as usual Cindy and sticking to the concept of your “no buy” is a great example for the rest of us.
Thanks for sharing. As much as I love your openness to trying different things when something in your system isn't working for you, it's also really nice to see you settled and happy with your planner for such a long time. I've been using an undated 2022 6-month Makselife planner for the past few months. But for Q4 I'm going to try blending Makselife and HB90 into a bullet journal and see how that goes. I've enjoyed the ML vertical weeks but looking forward to being able to spread out on some dailies when needed.
OK so I originally wrote a comment but I deleted it because I watched the full video and honestly $80 for a full year plus the goalsetting system I was like “lol wtf!!” then I realize that I had been watching you use yours for the whole year and how it’s really helped you and I really want one. so the price is manageable. I probably won’t get the sticky notes though or the mini sticky notes I might consider the $25 washing tape set but I have a lot of washing tape already so I don’t know yet, but that floral cover is so gorgeous. My main gripe though is that the month is a Sunday start and the weekly are a Monday start and I’m a Monday start only so I’m super glad that you pointed it out.
Ya it’s so dang expensive … and notice how she is the ONLY RU-vidr to even mention price!! I’m so annoyed with how not a single other video (that I’ve seen so far.. so might have missed some) ever talks about the insane cost and instead just gushes about how much they love it. Girl if I got free stuff as a partner or affiliate yes I’d love it. I just do the free printables honestly, and maybe that’s fine. I really want to get this planner but don’t want to spend that much.

Yup! I had the same reaction to the steep price. 😂 But when I thought about it too, I’ve had a similar realization that I’ve been watching Cindy work with her Makselife this whole year and how much structure it has seemed to give her very busy life. I need something like that to keep me focused; otherwise, perfectionism gets the best of me and makes me freeze when trying new things out. Plus, I’d really like to keep the goal-setting, to-dos, and habit tracking outside of my journal that I’m going to be using more for my hobbies, interests, and projects. I need a planner back in my life as I felt way less productive without one this year. lol
@@NintenJon2023 I get that, the system is good for sure. But I think the printables get me there too without the spend. The whole damn thing is sooo tempting though, but, I need to set myself some limits somewhere hehe

So, this has me thinking of using this, this year. But here is my question - I have a TON of EC covers, and would love to still use them. Do you have one lying around and tell me how well the EX covers snap on over the chipboard?
I plan to do the Unstoppable flagship. I’ve been using the Passion Planner daily with the companion notebooks. Love it but the cost to do both is the equivalent of the flagship. Ready to make the jump.
This is the first year of using this planner. I’m excited to try it. At first I thought all the goal setting info in the front was a waste of space and would prefer that room so other inserts but I’m getting more use to it. Enjoyed your honesty.
I also got the Moxie cover...it was really down to the wire once again though. For 2023 I got your cover but I spent the whole year wishing - not that I didn't have yours, but that I had also, for some reason, gotten the Chevron cover. It was still available when I bought my 2024 one, so I put it in my cart with all the accessories I couldn't order in the morning, and by the time I went back in the evening the Chevron was gone for good. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. I have no idea what I would've done with it anyway, I just really, really liked the cover. I went a little ham on the accessories this year, and I'll have another order I guess for Black Friday when those dot markers hit the store. Actual matching dot markers? Yes, please.

I'm moving to digital planning this upcoming year so I'm looking forward to being able to switch my covers out throughout the year. The one I'm really drawn to is the messy bits cover. I know they offered more covers this year but not a lot of them caught my attention. I usually go for florals (I currently have your cover from last year) but I didn't really like either floral covers for this year. I think it's the same artist for both but I wish the florals would've been done in a different style vs having the same floral style just in a different color.

As a senior I don't have as much interest in the goal setting part of the planner...instead I choose to add my goals (when needed) in the sidebar areas. Prob. more valuable for those who have a business or YT channel. I love the ring idea for storing washi and the bound book of sticky notes would be very handy.
WHAT DAY IS IT I AM CONFUSE! For a couple of minutes I was sure it was Wednesday. I CALLED IT that you would be ecstatic about the spiral binding. :D For comparison, my Hobonichi Weeks Mega was $35 and last year's HB90 Goal Planner was $30 (though I think there was a discount and I paid $24?) Katie put the washi ring and both the sticky note containers into the box. The only thing I am feeling tempted by is the skinny washi. My stash was accrued by "ooh pretty" and "what's in the cheap bin" methods so I don't really have any practical washi.
yearly I write a letter to myself (just free form I guess) about goals and whether I met them or not/things that happened in the year, but I love that little 10 dollar notebook mentioned at the end portion of this video. Plus since it's A5 size, it'd fit perfect in my leuchterm bullet joural, I might actually get that!

I love this and I’d spend the money on the planner but the price plus shipping to the UK is insane. No way I can ever justify it. I wish more companies would look at options like Sterling Ink use, their shipping is so reasonable.
The shipping to the UK is almost double what I paid last year. I'm going to dupe the goal setting system in my bullet journal, I also can't justify the cost anymore...
I’m trying a horizontal flagship for 2024 for goals and memory planning. I’m excited! I’ve been using the dailies on discs and found that it just didn’t work for me…more often than not I just use my Plum vert priorities and don’t even open the Makse. I love the goal setting though and want to be more consistent
Hi Cindy! I know there are very mixed feelings about TEMU but you would be able to find everything you have shown (except for the planner )for 5.00 or a lot less. I have bought many planner and holiday things from them and have not been disappointed once. I have used them many times. Also everyone else who I know who has ordered from them has been pleased as well. Just sayin'
Okay....pulled the plug on the goals notebooks. I recognize the system (the wheel is a standard coaching tool used in a lot of health/wellness coaching) and think it could be helpful, but I'm not going to swap out my Hobonichi. I may have also decided that I "need" their sweatpants (to be fair, my faves are pretty rotted at this point), and that checkbox washi made me drool, and I picked up the matching markers that color-code to the wheel. (Used your affiliate link since I can.) Thanks for the comparison, view of the planner, view of the year-end book, and review of accessories.
I’m disappointed they didn’t bring any new pens out. I have the highlighters but I haven’t actually used them much outside of monthly reflections. I was really hoping for dot pens because the zig dot pens are so hard to find in matching colours in the uk.
Dot markers are coming in November! We had a little snag and wanted to make sure they were just right so had to delay them a little bit! But they're coming and they're amazing!
The website is confusing--the goals notebooks list Moxie and Fresh Start separately as though they are separate items...but those are just the color names and the guts seem to be the same.
Argh! Love your review and the reminder that you get what you will use! I've been trying to decide what I will be using for next year's planning, and maybe I should keep my ML separate from my HB90 pages because I really love that cover (and the Washi tape).
I love makselife, but the pricing is ridiculous. $58 for a quarterly planner, $78 (now $68!) for a whole year. $58 for the goal setting notebooks. You might as well get the planner! Which, I guess, is the intention. I wish I could afford the goal setting notebooks or reflections notebook, but it looks like I'll be looking at the prompts and writing in my journal or bujo
Excellent review. Buying much of what you chose, so really appreciated seeing those particular items in your review. Do you it find it common that the sticky notes do not lie flat on the page? Post-its seem to lie flat.
Love the system and the paper, but so much pink on all the covers this year and not even a nice pink like the one you designed last year. And the 2 cover that weren't have pink on them were so half assed. Some of us want a planner we can use at work that doesn't look like an after thought. Also not a huge fan of the coils I like to move the used month to the back of the planner and this will make that a nightmare. I think I'm going to pass on Makse this year. I can just use the goal setting stuff from past planners and have a planner I actually like the look of.
