I usually let my plant boxes deliver to my workplace and unbox them there, and then I smuggle them home one by one. At home, I put the new ones somewhere among the other ones and my husband never knows :) If he sees me with a new plant in my hand, I shrug it off saying, I just got it from one of my colleagues :)

Hello Angela! Me again! I finally got a big basket of manjula!! Hubby ordered it from Florida for $72 and paid $28 for shipping. I know it’s a lot of money but I can’t find a big basket of manjula here in Seattle. I don’t know if you already know yet, the fastest way to root cuttings would be in perlite. (Perlite in jar and about an inch water on the bottom) I rooted manjula in perlite and it only took a few weeks. Faster than moss and water. Give it a try. I wanna see your plant collections. Not sure if you already posted a video. I’ll check it out. Stay safe Angela!

Oh I love that plant, darn now I want one. I'm in Western New York and I don't have a plant nursery here, only ones that sell outside gardening. Which is nice cause I plant outside too. But any nice houseplants I have to order online. I don't collect rare ones, I do love my common ones. Great video as always.

Hey Rhonda! I love gardening too! With my two little boys and their intense desire to be outside 100% of the time, it is one of the few hobbies that I can actually fit in LOL I really hope to be able to film some more gardening videos in the future, but that requires the skill and patience to be able to do alongside my kids and we aren't quite there yet!!! I'm glad that you enjoy these houseplant videos though - I feel like I'm a 'common' girl too, but once in awhile I can't help myself from grabbing a more exotic plant when I come across it!

Hi, new sub here. I just found your channel today. I just started collecting Pothos and scindapsus plants. They are my new favourites! I was shocked to hear that you paid only $13.00 for a big manjula plant. I paid mine for C$25.00 for a tiny one, only 5 leaves in a 3 inch pot. I live in Ontario, Canada and they are hard to find here hence the price. Garden centres don’t even carry them. I bought mine from market place. Your plants look so beautiful and healthy! Can’t wait for my manjula plant to get bigger.

This is a beautiful variety of pothos.I love all the varigated pothos varieties.It is hard to find any other varieties other than the golden pothos in my area,which is a little south of pittsburgh pa.I personally love all plants,but as far as pothos I do not care for golden pothos as much as some of the other varigated varieties such as manjulu,n-joy and marble queen,but I definitely would have to say that manjulu is probably my favorite.

I also picked up my Manjula from Walmart not really knowing what it was specifically or that they are hard to find. It’s one of my favorites! I love the variations of the leaves. Thank you for the quick identification tip - the curled/cupped leaves. I am really new at all this so I appreciate the videos! I had to repot into fresh drier soil (I split into 3 pots) because the soil was soaking mushy wet and the are some browning on some leaves. I really didn’t know what I was doing but all three are still perky and upright from 2 weeks ago. Question please... should I cut off the leaves that have brown?

@GrowingRoots
@GrowingRoots 3 года назад
Hi! I used many different kinds of potting mix - usually whatever I can purchase locally in my small town. The key for me, living in a high humidity area, is to have some well draining soil for my indoor plants. Whatever potting mix you use, you could mix in a bit of perlite to lighten it a bit. I have a complete care guide video available for the Manjula too - just search for Manjula Growing Roots and it should pop up for you!

My manjula got burnt leaf . So do i water my plant from the leaf to stem or do i water directly water it into roots? And how much?
@GrowingRoots
@GrowingRoots 3 года назад
@@cucau6528 I usually water directly onto the soil, trying to keep the leaves dry. Water thoroughly until water drains from the bottom and then I wait to water again until the top one inch of soil is dry. The Manjula does not need a lot of water, and sort of likes to dry out a bit between waterings. I probably water every 2 weeks for my established manjulas. My smaller pots get watered once a week.

I wish the Walmarts near my house had plants.😞 My manjula was in way too tiny a planter for over a year. Once I repotted it, it’s now starting to grow again. It’s weird though, all the leaves are reverted? back to N’joy. Just green and white. I’m hoping the Marble Queen influence will kick in again. What’s the best lighting situation for these guys?
@GrowingRoots
@GrowingRoots 3 года назад
My Walmart RARELY has a nice plant selection - so this was a sweet surprise! Crazy that your Manjula reverted back to the NJoy - I knew it could happen but haven't heard of anyone's in particular doing it! My Manjulas all get very little indirect light and they are "fine" but when I rotate them into higher indirect or direct light locations they usually end up growing faster and the varigation is prettier. Maybe you could try more light? What kind of light has yours been getting?
@stockinettestitch
@stockinettestitch 3 года назад
It was in way too small of a planter and I mean way too small. My whole house is kind of dark, there’s only one window that faces south other than our patio door which has the kitchen table right next to it and that’s my son’s room and his window is already filled up with my plants, he’s not thrilled.🥴 Manjula boy was mostly in our north facing bow window, so it actually got light in the morning from the east and in the evening from the west but not a lot. It was always consistently bright-ish but also cold, as we’re in Minnesota with zero insulation in our 1962 house!!! Lol. Now that it’s repotted, it’s growing. I mean it’s even starting to trail (yay). A couple of the leaves seem to be getting bigger and I think i’ve noticed that marbling coming back but honestly, either way I’m really falling in love with this guy. Although when I saw yours in this video I was freaking out, I was like: I want that!! 😆👍🏻 This winter I’ll be running a warm humidifier, that should help with the cold too. Sorry for the novel. Lol
@GrowingRoots
@GrowingRoots 3 года назад
@@stockinettestitch Minnesota though - how exciting! I grew up in St. Cloud! Where do you live?? You could always get a grow light (or just a lightbulb with high lumens) and place it near your manjula - that's what I do in the winter for some of my high light plants that can't be outside!

Daina! *I feel your pain!* I feel *so lucky* to have snagged this one! I did grocery pickup yesterday and it looks like they may have had a new shipment come in though, so I'm going to swing by and check it out this weekend. Maybe I'm in the middle of a lucky streak LOL

I just bought a set of N'Joy, Marble Queen and Manjula. It was interesting to know the Manjula was a cross breed, I enjoyed the video so thank you and also beautiful plants :)

I've seen that floating around too, but it seems like University of Florida has a growing patent on it. I'll have to do more digging around!

Only lucky people can keep that plant alive. I have tried three times and no bueno.
