New Maryland rail car factory could offer struggling Metro some relief 

Hitachi has very cool train looks and wheels the new cars are gonna look so good I imagine it having the same built look to keep that iconic wmata train look

Not only the new railcars should look good only, I hope they will work as well as they look. Quantity and quality should be together, hand in hand.

I didn’t know Metro was struggling. but those trains look awesome, i saw what they look like from the fleet of the future expo.

WMATA needs to still keep its legacy trains because of the comfy seats as reasonable accommodations for people with back disabilities unless comfy seats are considered on the 8000 series.

🤔 The front end of those cars doesn’t look like it will be able to attach to other cars like previous models. I mean if they wanted to, especially during emergencies. However, I’m welcome to the idea that the front of the train can cut through air(somewhat) of which can reduce its speed of trains sometimes. Hint hint why the Japanese bullet train 🚅 are shaped the way they are. 🚄

800 of the same thing is too much for 1 type. Especially after everything metro has gone through with all 748 7ks getting sidelined and reduced service and due to very little amounts of others. I can only imagine if 800 were to get ordered then they get sidelined fro whatever reason. We should be trying NOT to repeat history and learn from past experiences
