Massey Ferguson GC1725MB - Parts falling off already?!? ONLY 16.5hrs on the tractor! This is my very first problem with the GC1725 tractor. I am new to the world of tractor maintenance, but I must find out what this part is that feel off of my little sub compact tractor.
How I ended up with a Massey Ferguson GC1700 Series Sub Compact Tractor:
I went to buy a Kubota BX23S and ended up buying a Massey Ferguson GC1725MB. Side by Side at the dealer the GC1725 was just a better looking tractor in my opinion. Plus, it did a couple things better than the Kubota and I got a couple extras with the Massey Ferguson I was not getting with the BX23S. I got filled tires, thumb for backhoe and pallet fork attachment. I love the quick attach feature and use it every time I take the tractor out of the building.

That part is your rear 3 point hitch fork. There are 2 of them on the tractor. I delivered hundreds of them in the NY area. Good tractors!

I had the same issue first season using my 1720. If you remove the backhoe and utilize 3 point hitch attachments off and on, you’ll get quite aquatinted with that right side leveling fork on the hitch. When in stored mode,I just put a buggy through it to keep it from spinning off during vibrations.

I read earlier comments, so you know where the part goes. With tractors, it's a good idea to occasionally go around and under the tractor and make sure everything is tight. Grease and lube is important too. As stated in earlier comments, a box blade or rear grading blade would do the swale job for you. You might be able to find a rental shop where you could rent one, if the budget doesn't allow for purchasing. The Masseys are great little tractors! Enjoy your seat time! - Rick

I found it in the manual also, oddly enough, the book opened right up the page it was on. That was strange because that never happens. I have been looking for a rental shop to rent cat 1 implements near me but can't seem to find one. I need a 48in tiller for the garden but can't justify the 2k for it right now. Thanks for watching and commenting! 👍

@Tractor Chatter Start a side job, renting implements. I recently retired and have been thinking about renting implements. I have a good rental place nearby, but he doesn't have every implement I need, like a box blade.

@@twinbrookacres Funny you say that because I have thought about doing that but I don't even know what the going rates are for tractor implements. Can't find anyone that does it in my area.

@Tractor Chatter Then you can name your price. Haha. Low priced stuff like grader blades would be about $50 a day. More expensive stuff (tillers, box blades, etc.) About $100 to $150 per day. My opinion.

If you put your bucket flat on the ground and put your loader in float mode and back drag the dirt it will helo you level it out better

I fairly new to tractor ownership as well, about 1 1/2 years. I own a Kioti CS-2510 and am very pleased with it. One thing I have found for doing swales to help drainage is to use a box blade. A 4 foot 3 point mounted box blade would work great for you. You can angle it and just take a little dirt at a time to make perfectly formed swales. Good luck.

Awesome thanks for the tip! That would be very helpful grading some of the areas on my property. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻

Alright two things, first is the part which is half of the lift arm rod behind seat. They are just hanging when the backhoe is on so vibration causes them to slowly turn until they fall off. It’s not a tractor issue clean off dirt stew it back in to same length of grease make sure the other one is there and not longer may have also vibrated loose. Use a strap, string, etc to tie the two if they can’t rotate they can’t vibrate off. As far as your water drainage is easiest done using a blade lower on one side to make a channel even slight or a bog harrow that throws dirt out from center but doesn’t have second set pulling it back. The more expensive way is to put in a drainage tile with the backhoe to let water travel through under ground pipe off to hillside or dry area. You can work that tractor as hard as you want the part wasn’t damaged it was simply ration turning it, I’ve had rear bay fork bouncing cause my top link to do that.

Thanks John, Apprecite all the tips. I found that piece on the three point. Having that backhoe attached all the time, causes problems in some of the way I use this thing. I don't want to leave it out in the weather or drop in in the building where I can't Easily move it so I just leave it attached. I gotta come up with a better system than I have for that right now. So far, I really like the Massey though.

@@lawnBot hey since it is easy to remove, find a solid spot set it off, use a small tarp strapped to it temporarily until can put up a shed. Honestly after a time or two it will be about a 5 minute job to remove or reinstall it. Set bucket out and down flat set outriggers down just touching, once pin is loose (wiggle remote to loosen) raise dipper stick to tilt out pull forward switch hoses using your string our strap from lift arms to tie hose to seat bracket connect lift arms. Seen a good video on it on here. Five minutes maybe ten frost time and a tarp you can do what want a put back on. Good luck

With all the landscaping and gardening you are talking about you may want to invest in a cultivater. You were trying to put a swell in, this would make it a lot easier. I have a GC 1725M, have bought a tooth bar for my front bucket and when your digging it makes a lot of difference. You just can't buy everything you want all at the same time. Enjoy your tractor.
