*FYI This video is outdated! There is a new easier method that doesn't require ANY DNS or Phone App to work!* *Here are the steps:* 1. Add the Xbox account "CoveWBC4" (this can be done via Minecraft) 2. Go to the "Friends" tab on Minecraft and scroll down to the bottom to where it says "Joinable Friends" under there you will see an option to join the server list. 3. Click on "Join To Open Server List" and start playing on your favorite servers! (If it doesn't work try adding the account "BCMain" instead) (The old method can still be used but it may have issues for some users, troubleshooting steps are below) *Read THIS Comment if the tutorial didn't work for you OR if you can't get your console to connect to the internet after doing the steps* *Why isn't the tutorial working?* Most likely it's due to your internet having IPV6 enabled on your network. To verify this you can visit test-ipv6.com, this website will check if IPV6 is present on your network. (If it is you will see an IPv6 address like this: b90e:5b1f:d90f:fd95:194b:0d0e:05aa:e973 displayed on the page) This can be disabled but it varies from router to router and you will need to do your own research on what to do to resolve this issue. (I will not be held responsible if you mess anything up). If this doesn't work, it's possible your ISP or Internet Service Provider has blocked the DNS. In this case, not much can be done unless you are willing to contact your ISP and see if they can help. You can also try visiting the bedrock connect Github troubleshooting page linked below for additional steps and solutions but remember this is an unofficial workaround and the steps may not work. github.com/Pugmatt/BedrockConnect/wiki/Troubleshooting *I NEED HELP with the Tutorial on PlayStation!* Videos for How to change DNS on PlayStation consoles: PS4: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mywEYvXMm-8.htmlsi=R1724P29vUUVGIOz&t=90 PS5: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-g0ki1Y79No4.html NOTE: Don't use the DNS numbers in the videos linked above! Hey Brother I'm from Brazil, Rio de Janeiro and it worked, you helped me a lot, I really appreciate it, thanks! No Brazilian method was working... then I came internationally, now I can continue playing with my friends here in Brazil! English tests in schools are difficult but anyway hehehe thank you!
@@CoveWolf Hey, I’m wondering does changing the DNS have any other side effects on the Xbox? I have a shared Xbox so I don’t want to ruin anyone else’s game.
Sometimes even on ipv4 your isp can block the DNS numbers in the video. You can try finding a new DNS provided by someone else. Unless you can contact your isp, this is generally unfixable unfortunately.

I play Xbox and for the past few days I have been playing on added servers on my phone with my controller connected to it I tired so many videos of how but then I quit but now I finally seen this video it helped so much I tried it and as soon as I got onto Minecraft and then I got to servers I joined the hive and then it worked! :0 I am so surprised it worked I thought it would have been another one of those videos that did not work for me. But it worked this time thank you so much ✨ this helped a lot and I'm so glad I can finally play on my Xbox on the servers and add some! Thank youuuuuuuu soo muchh💅
Thank you so much I was trying to get it again after switching to the series x because me and my sister were wanting to play a custom server together ❤

Minecraft just updated, it says that “The host is using an older version of Minecraft. Everyone should update to the latest version of Minecraft and try again.”
@caleb8381 thanks for letting me know. I am currently waiting on a update for the server. This could take a bit of time but it should be up today. I will let you know
Hello there! Sorry to hear that. The server is working on my end. Most likely it is due to your network using ipv6. If that’s the case this tutorial will not work for you. To test this go to the following website: test-ipv6.com Check the second tick where it says your ipv6 adresss. If it gives you a strand of numbers that means your network has ipv6 and the tutorial won’t work.

@Wawa2day_ please read my reply to your other comment. It’s not fake. Why would I go out of my way to do that? That would take a lot of skills to fake in the vid. Anyways again you need to have only ipv4 on your network. NOT IPv6 there are ways to fix this but you need look it up for your specific router. If you tried this and had issues connecting the internet afterward. Go back to your console settings and set your DNS back to automatic. This will revert ANY and ONLY changes made in the video.

Hey, thanks for this tutorial, with Realms being down, ive been seriously thinking of moviing our world to a server, but I didn't know how to access it So, quick question, with this method, would we have to enter the server IP with every login, or does it retain that info? Thanks again!
It should retain the info. I will say that this method can be a bit buggy and it’s not officially supported by Microsoft. I would test the dns to see if all those who play on your realm are able to connect to the server list before setting up a server to replace your realm. I did see your other comment about locally hosting a server menu instance on your own. If you are still interested I can definitely make a tutorial on it. It can work in two ways, the first is where you host it to have it show up over your local network or LAN. This will show up on all your devices in the friends tab of Minecraft (except switch). This is definitely the most consistent and doesn’t require a dns change to setup but for players outside your network they will have to host their own. The second is where you port forward and use BIND DNS on a Linux server to host the instance where your players will use your IP for their DNS to connect to your server menu. Both work however if you can do the first option it’s good since of the reliability. There is also the add friend method which was where you added a bot to your friends list and you could join the bot to access the server menu. But the latest update broke that sadly until it gets an update. This was the most consistent method however. Thanks for your comment! Sucks about realms, I wish Microsoft could fix their game
17:36 yes, I would love a tutorial of this, i want to move my current realm world to a server, so I need to host, but don't have reliable equipment for locally hosting at this time lol

Hi bro, I saw this video a few days ago and tested it and it worked, but today I went into Minecraft and the server list is no longer there, I'm an Xbox player and I redid everything that was in the video, it didn't work. Could you tell me if there is something wrong with the numbers in the video? (sorry for the bad English, I'm not from the USA or UK)

I am on my Friends tab it often tells me that I do not have Nintendo Switch Online. It has worked before and I’ve played on the Geysermc server of a small content creator before but sometimes the „No NSO“ message doesn’t go away after minutes of clicking through the menus. Any help is appreciated. I am currently trying to set up my own text-based guide for Switch specifically so help would be cool. Note: I used a different DNS from somebody else’s Tutorial. I may try this one and update the comment if it worked fluently. If I didn’t edit the comment please still help.
Hi there! Sorry to hear your having issues. As far as I’m aware you need Nintendo Switch Online for this to work as Minecraft treats it the same as if you were joining a featured server like Hive. For featured servers or online play to work on Minecraft for console, you will need Xbox Live Gold, PlayStation Plus, or Nintendo Switch Online depending on your console for it. Did you have a Nintendo Online subscription before you had issues? Hope this helps.
@@CoveWolf I left a long reply stating that I resolved the issue but a new one popped up that I resolved for myself but others could still have the issue. I’ll try resending the comment deleting the DNS but I might not be able to send this comment.
I forgot to update the comment. I have resolved the issue using a little bit of tinkering and then eventually giving up and just trying to resolve it using the link in the pinned comment but I actually came across a new issue. Your DNS didn’t allow me to join the other server. It’s fine because I just used instead (I am good at remembering numbers in my head lmao.) but it’s an issue nonetheless that would be better resolved. I made a guide on how to join the Minecraft server in their discord for others who are also trying to join on Switch so the other people trying to join this specific server that I‘m on won’t have the issue but it could also be that it doesn’t let people join to other servers wich would suck for them. Also yes I had online. I resolved the issue by waiting for my Microsoft account to be logged in then switching between the servers tab and the main menu until it worked. I now replicate this every time I start the game. Basically waiting until I either get a comm error on my Switch or the servers load and then switch to main menu then back to servers then wait for something to happen again until it works. It’s reliable for me. But thanks for the links because they helped.
