New Mexico lawmakers call for impeachment of Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham 

She basically said to hell with the constitution, I make the rules and you'll do what I say.

This needs to happen repeatedly with ALL elected officials who violated their oath...

The Governor needs to be behind bars now.

Not only should she be impeached. We need a law that prevents anyone who flagrantly violates their oath and goes against the constitution to be banned from public office and any salary they received while serving would have to be returned in full to the government which provided those payments (local/state/federal).

Violate your oath. Get removed.

Its not just about the 2nd amendment; if she can violate the 2nd amendment, what other amendment can she cancel/ violate???, We have a state & federal constitution to obey & nobody gave her the right to cancel / violate any of our rights ! and if the district attorneys & judges would keep the criminals behind bars and stop the revolving door of justice in our state,our crime rate would drop by 50%!

Any public servant who violates the Constitution MUST be removed. There are no exceptions.

The governor was asked if she thought criminals would follow this gun ban. She admitted NO they wouldn't. She said she was sending a message. She said guns were being concealed and openly carried on every street corner. That's not true, but it would be a good idea. That sends a message to violent criminals. A message they understand, or should. At this time the DOJ has stripped the power of the local APD. They are being punished for being aggressive on criminals. APD arrests the same criminals, even violent criminals, repeatedly, only to be released pending a trial, over and over. This governor removed the national guard from the US / Mexico border when she got in office. She got marijuana legalized. She has severely punished the oil and gas industry. Many small businesses that were shutdown by her covid lockdown mandates have been replaced with Marijuana Dispensaries, not every street corner, but damn near. She is destroying this state and country, like the rest of her cohorts. This is an agenda. If she really wanted to reduce crime, she would be working to get rid of the DOJ mandates and restrictions that have been specifically placed on this same city police department. How about bring back the death penalty. How about put real criminals in prison, not just her political advisories (political prisoner). This mandate does nothing to address gun violence, and she admits it. It sends a message to criminals to do what they want, and she made it easier for them to do it. It's also another tyrant message that she will punish anyone she doesn't like. She does not care about the victims of these crimes, she is using this tragedy to make to pursue an antigun agenda. Screw the constitution and any amendments. She doesn't believe the oath she took applies to her. She will do what she wants until she is stopped.

Wonder if the citizens can file a civil lawsuit against the governor for violating their rights?

"Drastic and unprecedented measures" are required given the drastic and unprecedented overreach and tyranny committed by the Governor.

If only she would work that hard on stopping criminals.... not figure out a way to make millions more of them.

Grisham felt that this violation of the Constitution was "justified" in her reasoning-so if we had a racist governor, they could justify suspending civil rights too? And then order the sheriffs to arrest people for something that was legal the previous day? How about ANY Constitutional right that they feel is getting in the way of what they want to do?

She said herself her oath meant nothing, her thoughts and feelings override rights?

I love that the media thinks impeachment of Grisham is "drastic and unprecedented" instead of focusing on the unconstitutional and 'illegal' (and it is most assuredly illegal) executive order she just signed, something no other governor in the country has attempted and that the police chief and the sheriff in the impacted area have both refused to enforce. Grisham's irresponsible actions are "drastic and unprecedented", and they should be the focus of discussion in the media, assuming the media was either credible or ethical.

Oath of office states "...support and defend the Constitution..." It's not up for debate. Get her out and every other politician, law enforcement officer, sheriff, etc. that thinks it's okay to take the oath and then selectively choose what they want to support and defend.
