I think this is awesome, because I've never seen a home that comes standard with a carport! This is a 28x60(not including garage) mobile home. The manufacturer for this home is Dutch Housing, the model name for this home is the "Dutch Diamond 2860-249." This home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and 1,493 sq ft. This home reminds me of a standard site built, what do you think? I hope you enjoy this mobile home walk through video.

lostintime86 I am sure everyone has seen a garage. But there are many different sizes. Is this one with extra space for work bench and shelves or is this a garage where you can barely open your car door.

Also, the options of height in the sinks, cabinets etc... i know people who've had homes modified so they can access the kitchen and bathrooms at a height for those that need to do their daily living in a wheelchair and when things are at the right height it makes life much easier, plus doorways, and hallways need to have enough space or width, hope you can find someone to answer all the questions u have, good luck, God bless 💜

You can’t modify a home after all the rooms are put together. All doors and hallways need to be wider. All bathrooms need to be wider. Water closets don’t work for wheelchairs. Sure, things that can be modified besides ramped front and back doors with five feet turn around, higher toilets, grab bars in tubs and toilets, fewer zigs and zags in hallways, 7” space under counters and sinks, more space between counters and islands, etc. But making changes to size of rooms with wider doors and straighter hallways are a major remodel for a built house. Many of the plans say only certain things can be changed and I’m almost certain size of rooms and hallways can’t so basically are there mobile or modular homes designed for folks in wheelchairs?

@@pamelarandlov1735 they are vinyl and batten walls. It is covering the walls with vinyl boards and fastened with battens. It is a cheaper option than drywall but also after the home is set up after a while it settles and the drywall can crack the vinyl and batten will not. I have the traditional vinyl walls in mine but they sanded down the seams and put a tape the same color of the walls and is hardly noticeable. We had quite a few tiny tiny cracks in our ceiling after it was moved that they repaired after it was setup. So I can imagine the walls would do the same. And we bought a lot model 10 years ago we could have ordered it with finished drywall but it would have added another $10,000 to the cost back then. So we bought as is. But my home has 2×6 exterior walls which is not even found in some stick built homes.

@Patrick Powell - I'm not sure if this is your average "Trailer park" model ;-)... Also, a thing to remember is that your insurance will probably be noticeably higher with an attached garage.

Thanks Chance. Very pretty. But here is my input... Yay!!! I am finally glad to see medicine cabinets! I was beginning to think y'all don't take medicine! We NEED at least one of those somewhere in every home! Also, since there is rarely a closet near the door(???)... I would definitely love to see a coat closet too! Since most visitors won't be coming through the garage, you could at least put a mudroom bench near the front door entrance. We all need a place for our hats and Tony Lamas. 😉 Oh, and I think the garages look like a focal point and they are not attractive. If possible, I would rather see them turned to the side. Then add a window, and it would look like part of the home and not be an eyesore when you first see the place. Hope that makes sense. You do a great job Chance. Keep up the great work! Blessings

Yes! Gotta have a soaker tub in the master bath! I do like the layout of the kitchen: sink looking out at the backyard, stove around not too far from the sink, island where you can have your coffee in the morning!

I know. Me too. My heart sank too when I saw no soaker tub. I did really like the home though minus the carpeting. I probably would change cabinet colors to white also. Would love having a double garage. That would be awesome. Just missing that soaker tub ...:(. I couldn't bring up the price. But, great home overall!

WOW...........they have really come a long way in building mobile homes. When my husband & I were first married, we lived in an 8 ft wide and back then there was only an 8 ft wide and a 10 ft wide mobile homes. I LOVE the way they look today.

I love almost everything about this mobile home. I just hate when they don’t carry out the hard wood flooring throughout the entire house. Carpet just gets dirty too fast.

A lot of these mobile homes are beautiful. Well, they all are but you have such beauty and when you go into the closets there is elegance until you get to the racks for hanging your clothes and most of them have that white cheap wire racks. They don't last long and takes away from the rest of the mobile home that makes them look elegant. Love the open space plan. Thank you for sharing.

I like the dark cabinetry used in this home but kitchen could be smaller to enlarge the living room which needs flooring to match kitchen instead of carpet. Bedrooms are too small. No tub in master but love the medicine cabinets. You do a great job of showing the homes you feature.

I think it may have something to do with insurance. I'm not positive but I've always heard your insurance goes up if you have an attached garage compared to a seperate garage.

Maybe a foot of space to get out of the car (crap) all the way around the car and no basement.So cost more than older homes with ample amount of both. Garages are it all the same inside some are finished and some aren't. It would be an additional cost to finish one bought unfinished. They also have different floor finished. Some go back far and others have barely enough room to close door after car is in. Yes. I need to see the the garage. A bad garage would be a deal breaker for me.

In 1983 I would travel from Mass to Grey, Maine to look at the Mobile Home Factories and see the latest and greatest. I was super impressed back then! The thick insulation and 2x4’s used in the homes and the walls and ceilings were like any other home. My ex fiancé’ and I would tour these homes weekly. I remember the most expensive double wide back then was $60K

There were a few doors you didn't open. I know one was to the garage but there was another in the utility area that you didn't open. You've missed some doors in a few homes. Don't really care about the inside of kitchen cabinets. I'm more interested in the actual living space and where those doors go, lol! “Mobile homes” have come a long way from what they used to be. Like with any new construction you will have some odors but usually airing the house out for a couple of days fixes that. Now for me personally modular are really expensive compared to a manufactured home. You can get a lot of the same features between the two; drywall throughout, tiled showers and bathes, ceramic floors. It all comes down to your foundation in my opinion. I want to put my house on a slab to give it the strongest foundation from the start. We’re planning on getting a manufactured home from Palm Harbor and the difference between the modular and manufactured was about $50k!

Modular homes come in sections and is put together on site. Built in a large manufacturing plant on a assembly line. Modular homes are the same as stick built homes as far as building codes. So really no difference except one is built inside in about 1 month depending on how many houses are being built at that time . It’s just amazing ! Oh, I forgot to mention the cost of a Modular home is much less expensive compared to stick built homes today. Need to mention this is not your bottom line price though, House costs like $105k you need land to put it on and infrastructure. Power, water or well, septic, brushing the land, removal of trees possibly. Then the cost of your contractor to get ready for your new home and install or lay it onto your foundation as well as a long list of other things. I’m going through this entire process right now. My new home should be almost ready to move into March to April, 2020.

@@debbrowning9552 Thanks for the detailed reply. I'm in a stick built now and everything that could go wrong in 15 years has. Looking to go out west and some places say modular not mobile. And ya, I remember the prices for well and septic back then. I bet it's double now, and some places want sand filters and other things further driving up costs. Stoked for you that you are so close to being done. Good luck with everything.

This home feels homey and love that it comes with attached garage. Would they make this in a 4+ bed and 3+ bath..?? And make a few changes to it..?? The price is great just need a few tweaks. Lol - And again, thanks for taking time to show these homes..!!!

I love this layout! Finally attached garages. This is awesome! The things I'd like to change are: more space for master, color of cabinets, real closet structures that use wood & not the cheap wire setup. An overall change I'd suggest for all manufactured or prefab homes is to include stealth storage - space saving storage for all designs. This next thing is hard to say, but I feel you ask your viewers way too often to click this and do that and then proceed to display the same messages again with images = it's over done. Hearing it constantly throughout the video makes me not want to do it. Just sayin'

Exactly! My son needs a wheelchair accessible home!! Closet door is way to small and he has a custom built wheelchair that would not fit thru the door. Not to mention the master closet!

I noticed that too...not that the furniture can't be rearranged. But usually, there is a designated wall for the TV. The master would have a good wall for one however
