From my experience, the BETAfpv versions of these boards have seen significant demand across the board. Our commitment to supporting local STEM initiatives and schools has highlighted the demand for both versions. They cater to a wide range of users, from beginners seeking an educational foundation to advanced users looking to deepen their knowledge and skills. It's crucial for the market to provide both options, as our community and industry have evolved to a point where supporting diverse needs is not just beneficial but necessary. On a personal note, I have a preference for the plug versions. I value simplicity and convenience in my tech. I'm not much for tinkering, so plug-and-play suits me best. Excellent work, MOE! Very much agree - there are benefits to each so it would be great for HM to offer both versions of the board and maybe even of the BNF. I was thinking, specifically for the BNF audience, plugs may be more appropriate as I’m sure the mob6 may be a lot of pilots “first” quad and soldering can be a bit intimidating. Such a good video, a joy to watch, love micros and whoops and this one looks good, although might wait till there is a version with motor and camera plugs, or if this analog mob6 is cheap enough then I will just get it. Hmm best whoop for 2024, bit early to tell, hopefully more coming from the likes of BetaFPV and Sub250 👍

Apparently at least the board is coming at some point with plugs - I would like to see an option for a BNF with plugs as well purely for the connivence. Would be nice to have a version with plugs and one without to make everyone happy. And for sure - hoping we see a lot more great micros this year! I would love for happy model to give us a new 75 as well 😁

Nice to see you gettig sent more atuff to review! 2 questions: 1. How is the cam compared to rhr tinywhoop pinch in both FOV and quality? 2. Do gnb27 batteries fit that a30 connector?

Mr. Meaty!! Thanks for dropping by - the cam is a slightly worse pinch as far as picture quality goes. FOV feels very similar to me but i haven't directly compared yet - it may be slightly narrower, as well. But i am happy with it compared to the nano 3. Also, GNB27 will not fit the A30 connector - only BT 2.0 and A30s.

So that’s a Gemfan cube gate that you can unzip. I just secure it to the ceiling with some command strips 😅 not the cleanest thing but it does the job

I think the lack of motor plugs is pretty nice however only if the board is designed well. Unlike on the NBD board that came with the new hummingbird v3. The battery pads are so close to the usb port that it feels impossible to not bridge the battery pad and the outside of the usb port. Sorry for ranting. Nice review and I’ll probably have to pick one up!

I agree - am not a fan of how the leads were split on both sides of the USB. But I believe this board will end up being fairly reliable. It is already more reliable (at least for me) than my V3s FCs. Thanks for stopping by !

Happymodel has clearly been listening. This iteration is darn near perfect! The only thing I could see changing is moving to Artery ARM chips for reduced cost and faster processing. But hey, it still rocks!

@@MoeFPV I think my original reply was deleted because of the overzealous RU-vid censor. Artery makes ARM microcontrollers without the expensive licensing fees. Effectively the performance of an F722 for less than an F411.

I hope there will also be 50-55 mm whoops in the future. Because I think they are even more suitable for flying indoors, especially if you only have an apartment or small apartment... A Mobula 5. 😁 For this, however, we would probably need at least new AIOs (in 16 mm) and possibly also new 21-25 mm props. The 0702 might still be small enough and high kV in them is already available...

There is already a term for them. It's called: Tiny whoop nano. Only it was with brushed motors and not 50 mm but 55 mm.

@@Halphbaked210 Just watch the video from the Tiny Whoop channel, from the Tiny whoop Nano. It flies mega controlled through a through 2 hands gate. The reviewer himself says you can fly even better between christmas tree branches. I don't think your argument that Mobula 6 has the perfect balance is correct. You always have to keep it in perspective. I bet on extremely small race tracks 55mm whoops beat 65mm whoops... Downwards there are almost no limits, only from the millimeter and nanometer range it may be critical. It's just a matter of development. A drone consists of a frame and electrical and electronic components. Everything can be greatly miniaturized. An AIO PCB like this can theoretically be made in one chip... But someone has to go and develop and risk investments. But I'm sure that tons of people would like to buy a 55 mm whoop... 150 mAh Lipos are also available on the market... There was already a 55 mm Tiny Whoop Nano, but with brushed motors and without integrated VTX in the AIO.

@@jaysonrees738 Why? We have for example a lot of 150 mAh Lipos on market. The only thing we need are: A new very small AIO (20mm or 16mm, stacked or not stacked) and a new injection plastic 45-50 mm frame of course. Or carbon frame bottom platte with prop guards...

I knew that was going to be a disappointing thing for the racers ! I will revisit this though. Mostly because I’m curious to see if it’s the same output on all channels. Maybe R8 will be closer to 25 ? But I guess that won’t help much unless you can beg for a specific channel on race day 😅

It’s been a bit since I’ve been in the market but I would say either a used pair on Facebook marketplace like the fatshark hd02s or skyzone 04xs. A decent box goggle would be the cobra x v2 as well. Fairly cheap!
