The miltank mode (or modes possibly) is the showdown modes in brawlstars, the slowbro thing is a map wide fishing minigame (though I guess one could see it as a different of hot zone from brawlstars). That score based win con is meh to me. means dodrio, sableye, Greedent and other mon used in score comps will absolutely dominate. Brawlers become useless
the berry in the whirlpool mode actually increases your attack, i forgot to add that during my editing 💩 for the duo mode, if your partner is still alive you can respawn (timer 15-20s)
So the battle royale mode is like it is in brawl stars where if your teammate is alive you can relive but if both die you are out. And the farm stuff like miltank and bewear give that energy stuff which makes you do more damage and gives health like the power cubes in brawl stars
yeah biggest take or at least one that I would love if they port to global, is the customizable moves at the beginning of the match. it feels like the skill options in heroes of the storm. This and the option of more unserious game modes for quick play
I love these new modes!! Even if they get old after a while, they might become quite useful by indirectly teaching players some skills that many players in master rank seem to lack, like positioning, dodging, fighting away from a goal, and last-hitting. This might also help to improve the ranked experience, even if a little.
The Slowbro mode reminds me of the DarkStar Singularity that LoL had back in 2016? You could hook or throw enemies into this giant black hole in the center of the map and got extra points if you knocked in scuttlers (these little crab creatures) as well.
11:37 it is only for 1 Pokémon of your choosing, like a first time purchase thing. 11:45 a lot of Chinese made games have a network tester built into the game just like this, its good for testing ping and connecting issues, it can also diagnose what part of your connection is having the highest latency such as your router, the local network provider or their servers. So in the video it says 404 ms ping for the internet/network, 1ms for the local provider and the provider is connected to 253 devices, and the router has 1 ms. Also yeah the collect coins one is basically gem grab from brawl stars, and the duo survival one is basically duo showdown, also from brawl stars.
With the controversies surrounding some popular video games and the hype surrounding others I'm glad Pokémon unite has found a spot where it can grow and develop its own things and in the meantime it still has a loyal and understanding enough player base and Creator base that while communication may not be the best, the relationship is good enough for us to be able to look forward to the future of the game with hope, especially with this new open hub world that we will be getting eventually and the more mini game style mini games
The Slowbro Telekenisis game mode is based off an old League of Legends game mode where you’d do a similar thing with Thresh’s Hook and his Flay abilities to knock opposing Thresh into a black hole. The event was called “Dark Star Singularity” and it was a blast. Although UNITE copies a pretty decent chunk of moves or game mechanics and such from League (I mean how could/why would you not) it’s great to see this gamemode style utilized again.
That slowbro is almost identical to the Dark Star Thresh mode in League of Legends from years ago, instead of the whirlpool it was a black hole. The had anchor points that you could hook to pull yourself out to prevent your self from being flung in.
8:10 that game is also playable in brawl stars. It's survival, with those coins I suppose the pokemon gets stronger, like in brawl stars. If one of the duo is alive, the other can respawn. When bouth are killed, the match is over for the duo
15:22 Wait you can choose which move to get the + version? That's neat. Noticed you also start with both starter moves. Game is faster than our version too, lot's of objectives that spawn so fast, not many "wait 30 seconds in the goal till something spawns" moments which is nice, maybe TOO fast though.
I like the idea of first to a certain number of points, to at least mitigate the flip potential of the current modes, but I feel like the score amount would have to be at least 600 if not more
I can confirm. The gimmighoul minigame is basically a 1 to 1 copy of the gem grab from brawl stars, essentially. Same with the miltank, except it’s duo showdown, and guessing from that mode, the Aeos energy functions as straight upgrading instead of just farming the pokemon straight.
I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of rebirth from warzone but that’s what that miltank gamemode is. Teammates can respawn as long as you are alive. If everyone on team is out then that’s when you lose.
omg i want this sooo much seeing the scores will help a lot against idiots who wanna surrender so early they dont realize its double scores for last 10 minutes so annoying
The speed test is identical to HOK! i hope they bring the custom button layout! I play on a tablet and would love to resize and relocate my buttons! HoK and Unite are amazing! I might be starting to come around to the 500 point score requirements to😅
12:32 i'm not really sure but that for 800 aeos tickets looks like a rental license box, maybe you can buy it and it gives you a random rental for a pokemon you don't have? maybe for 3 days (i feel like 7 is too much, but i don't think it would be 1) Anyway this looks really cool and a much needed breath of fresh air inside pokemon unite (i said the joke) when would this be even remotely accessible worldwide?
When the duo patner is alive, you can respawn. You need to kill both of them in the miltank map just like duo showdown of brawl stars to eliminate them.
This is the amount of content you’d expect a game that’s been out for 3+ years SHOULD have, rather than the drip feed we get in the global version.. would love if Nintendo and TPCI could leverage making TiMi actually release this content worldwide considering the dire state of the global version.
Probably never. There are a lot of games that have their separate "Chinese Versions". Most of the times, none of this Chinese version stuff ever makes it into the "Global" version. There's a game "Pokémon Quest" still on Playstore, that came out sometime in 2017-2018. That game only has the first 151 mons. But you would be surprised to know that game's Chinese version has gone far beyond that. The last time I checked, there was a Groudon, Kyogre, remaining Eeveelutions, etc. Pretty sure they're at or beyond Galar mons by now. Getting a Chinese company to develop The Pokémon moba was perhaps a poor decision. Even more so after seeing how things went with Pokémon Quest.
This version seems way more fun than ehat we currently have. Like the focus on objectives through out the match rather than just ray being the only thing that matter
Until I see any lick of this stuff in our version and I mean *anything* then all of this might as well be fake to me. It’s been like a year of talk about this beta and it’s all been speculative hype that’s produced nothing but shattered hopes. I’m tired.
Has any of the Chinese beta stuff ever made it to our version of unite? I remember when we all got excited for a lobby we could all walk around. That never happened.
guessing with that battle royale-like mode, you can respawn if your mate is still alive, and you only lose when you and your mate die at the same time frame
most of us complained about lack of content in pokemon unite for the past few seasons. If this is the future of the game, I shall shut my mouth (hands?) from today onwards.
hmm for the BR like mode what if sebleye use his unite do they go back to the corner of the map? if thats the case it means an instant KO if the map is already at the end game
I cant wait to play those games once or twice and than forgot about it forever... Tbh I think that vast majority of players would rather see improvments to balance, match making or little twiks to main mode, than some silly mini games and ability to sit on swing. If those modes never come to global PU i could not care. Only quick game that im passionate about, is full fury mode, and for some reason we dont have it in quick game rotation.
im so sad the chinese one is sooo creative with their mini/quick game mode. creative is a bad word to choose but you guys get what i meant. sad to see global one is forgotten
What I have loved about playing MOBAs all the way from the DOTA WC3 mod is the tempo and pacing the genre has. The Chinese version changes Unite from a MOBA to a Brawler, effectively changing the entire genre of the game. Back when Unite first released, the community would often say that the game is likely a way for TPCi to gain marketshare in China and the split off version of the game somewhat confirms these suspicions. I can’t imagine Unite having a player base that could support people playing all these different game modes considering that Casual (or what used to be called Standard) mode in Unite generally guarantees bot games now when in the first year it was a viable mode. The Chinese version opens a ton of questions as to the lifespan of the game since it is a completely different genre where everyone evolves fully in the first minute and the action is less deliberate and more frenetic. Will China have their own tournaments? If not, will China eventually have to have our ranked MOBA game mode or will we have to adapt to their Brawler game mode? Since the Chinese version is region locked, could they ever scrim with international teams if they had the MOBA ranked mode that the rest of the world has been playing the past few years? Personally, I play the game because I like MOBAs and if all these changes were brought over to the global version I would stop playing. If this is the future, I’d rather just quit while I’m ahead.
Feels really weird to have the games be this different if the goal is to get them merged at some point...one playerbase is going to have a very unfun experience.
Yeah a lot of brawl stars vibes for me, but like thats ok since i love brawl stars and multiple modes of play so it doesnt get stale as fast. Because quick mode games dont do it for me currently. So these games would be a good change of pace
don't get too excited, we still have yet to get that first "chinese beta" that was released only to china as well. So what are the odds of us getting this? I'd say not incredibly likely. Or hopefully I'm wrong and this has been confirmed to come to the US?
