I’d do anything for either a flyable E-2, C-2, C-17 or C-5. Any modern aircraft that I could use my yoke on would be great but those four would be best!

Michael Zaite It’s a nice plane but I would prefer to fly cargo or AWACS in DCS. I think there could be a lot of missions and opportunities etc from player-controller cargo planes.

Il-2 has the Ju-52... but I wouldn't mind having an AC-130U Gitsummobile in DCS as well as a regular C-130. Flying cargo could be vital in online missions where you'd have limited ressources at the front bases and need someone to haul over the stuff that gets delivered from there.

Loved it that Cap was bragging when he hit his prop. THEN just as he was bragging about his smooth landing we get that wonderful cry of “WHY?”as the water appears. It brought tears of laughter to my eyes. Wonderful GR mayhem.

My father was stationed at Manston in the 50’s as a USAF officer. He flew C-47’s. I have fond memories of living in Margate and attending British school.

I dont quite get it. Maybe I need to brush up on my geography, but doesnt this map largely overlap with Normandy, and its a lot smaller? Not sure I like this approach, with several maps covering essentially the same area. It just ensures even less people will have the same maps. IMO this should have been an upgrade/extension to the Normandy map.

The Normandy map is from another company (UGRA Media, I believe) so this map couldn't be an upgrade or extension to that map. It does show why DCS needs a global mapping system in the future, so you can build missions that use several maps in the same mission. Gaps between maps could just be auto-generated land or water.

Absolutely my take on this half hearted cash grab imho, though the maps are only slightly overlapping and the new channel map looks not bad. It is still total overprized and not unified map chaos. Moreover I find DCS map size generally too small.

Fun fact: A couple of hundred metres behind Dover Castle (built by Henry VIII), lies the "Louis Bleriot" memorial. He was the first person to fly across the English Channel (in 1909) and he landed just behind Dover Castle. He's also the inventor of car headlights, and the first person to own an aircraft company.

The sea on the south coast is very blue, especially around Bournemouth. North east coast like Scarborough is more brown

The P-47D is EASILY the best looking warbird in DCS yet when it comes to graphics. However, the corsair will easily be the sexiest. Hopefully the textures and polygon counts do it justice. Also, you earned some extra points for lighting up that French church/cathedral! Where's your god now, huh?

You took off the wrong way in Dunkirk. You start by the fence and go the other way. Heavier aircraft can use the grass runoff after they touchdown on the concrete pad.

This map coincided with a kindle series I've been reading. Think Final Countdown the aftermath if they had stayed. In England the Germans have sent a new weapon to attack London. A squadron of MiG-29 from the Luftwaffe circa 1991-95. To help defend England, the Nimitz sends half it's air wing to England, 10 F-14's 12 F/A-18's

RC is always flying full power all the time as if there was no tomorrow and the devil himself was after him. It simply cannot go on like that! He must be disciplined by flying last in formation instead of leading the pack all the time! In addition he should seriously work more on his sexiness!

to be fair DCS should give owners of the Normandie map a huge discount for this map ! but perhaps i will not buy it anyway .....propellerplanes are not that good in DCS....i prefer IL2 in that. And clickable cockpits are very useful and needed in modern planes but for an old taildragger you can set the few important keys on your stick . I have 3 Propeller modules from DCS but i only enjoy the P51....and this was their first model....says something
