My dad has one of the residential model power heads and enjoys it. We've got the pole saw and the string trimmer part, plus an extension for when we use the pole saw. The only thing I don't like about the trimmer attachments is the guard is not as big compared to most gas trimmers. I've also had to get used to the line spinning on the opposite direction than the Troy-Bilt one we also have.
Seems like a really good mower , I just don't like the electric part of it , dealing with the expense of batteries when they deed to be replaced . I liked the captions you put in , I don't hear very well anymore , thanks love your vids ...
I do have just over 2 acres of landscaped lawn to mow each week. Bring that EGO down to southwest Wisconsin, and lets put it to the test and show how much property this mower will do on a full charge.
If the steering wheel turned the front wheels I’d buy one of these mowers. Steering with the front wheels would be much better when mowing on hillsides. It was disappointing when Ego said this mower had castor wheels at the front.
Thank Goodness those captions are gone. I do like the E Steer option, make it nice for my old man to use.....when the Walker dies, this is on the short list. Would love to see what those blades look like after you finish.
That thing does a terrific job... Stan you are the man, thanks for trashing the captions. You really do listen to your viewers... always a 👍bro.. your the best... TY
I have the weed eater, hedge trimmer, blower, and push mower (consumer models) and will get the chainsaw when my present one finally goes. I think the big breakthrough was when they went to higher voltage and the lithium batteries.
Hardest pill is price of batteries that is even if you get 10 years outta them they are expensive. I don't see myself buying one these until price of batteries comes down a lot cause 500$ per battery (for 10 amp hour ones via their site) is hard to swallow when i spend barely 30$ on gas a year for my current tractor that is 30 years old now and still going strong. Needing a min of 2 batteries to power that is 1000$ when they need to be replaced.
Hi Stan, I could use your help. I have a trail that runs across the top of a hill behind my house. I am guessing the grade is about 30%. I have no problem riding my four wheeler up the grade to the trail. But my New Holland skid steer doesn't like it. It has overgrown with heavy brush and vines and some small (2" dia.) trees. I could rent a tracked skid steer, but I wouldn't be comfortable on the hill with it. I'd like to rent a tracked, heavy duty walk behind brush cutter. Could you please offer some machine suggestions. Thanks! Shalom/gw
What’s pricing ? Like for mower and come with batteries and charger or is that all extra ? And wonder how the steering would be like as ya go down a slope? Not super steep , but ya know how newbies or know-it-alls say “ ya ya” when giving caution on mowing and turning on a downslope and if ya turn 1 way ya can’t turn out of it and it’ll steal your steering and take ya straight down with no control ? Hopefully not a deep ravine . But wonder if it’s same as that or not . Luckily never happened to me cause try to learn the precision of equipment I’m running and conditions of area at current times but some just go go fast and next and then ya hear about it later . We had a guy go off a retaining wall last year on John Deere z997r zero turn which was like 3 foot high and rolled onto him. “ no safety bar up cause branches hung up or get caught up and can fling ya too but luckily summer help wasn’t sleeping and able to pull him from under it. Gotta be careful . Side note : ever get to try the green machines? Battery stuff that’s been around forever I guess . Think each tire has a motor and blades too but look sweet but of course pricey. If moneys no object is one thing but wonder how they are overall. And cmon Altoz. Where’s the switch ? With finish mower attatchment? I’d love to have one and then snowblower , plow, broom, brine system. But what’s the word with them? Having issues or what’s the scoop?
Been watching your videos for years they are always great. Was wondering if you had the ego zero turn for a couple years wanted to know if you're having any sort of issues or if it's working just as good as it always has. I had a Ryobi original 75 amp hour zero-turn and sadly 4 years and 40 hours later the lead acid batteries are toast. Think I'd rather switch to the ego then to try to retrofit lithium batteries in the Ryobi.. it would be great to hear that ego is still rockin
Next time you happen to talk to EGO design/engineering.. can you beg them to build a 45-60" zero turn with the steering wheel please? I am gonna need a big one in a couple/few years once I get my yard built and trees cleaned up off of it. Being off-grid with a massive solar system, electric summer toys.. er.. tools only make sense! I agree with most everyone else too, if it survives your testing methods.. it will survive mine! LOL Keep the "tests" coming!
That EGO Zero Turn works like a beast. I do like that steering yoke better than the lap arms on standard zero turns. I just purchased my very first brand new zero turn mower a month ago. It's a commercial grade Toro S2000 and let me tell ya there is a huge learning curve driving one compared to my Cub Cadet XT2 garden tractor. I compare it to learning how to ride a bicycle for the very first time without training wheels, ha. I keep looking for the foot brake where there is none and learning to steer while controling the speed with your hands is a bit daunting but I am learning. My 3 acre mowing area (out of 20 acres) property has an average 35% grade which makes it difficult to go down or across the hills with the zero turn and keeps getting away from me, but as I mentioned I'm getting better at it after my third use. How did the blades hold up on that EGO after running over the logs and mowing over those saplings? Thanks for sharing Stan and keep them vids coming. Cheers from northern Vermont!!
Very nice. Wonder how well they hol up? I bot a 18" trim mower in 1998 and just replaced the battery last year. Worked flawlessly for years doing all our trimming. Wonder if the rider(electric) will work as well?
Nice to see you listened to your fans and removed the captions! They were super distracting and I'm sure a lot of us are glad they're gone, so thanks for paying attention to what we were saying.
Hey hey stan, i love these ego mowers, they sure are some of the most badass mowers for electric battery mowers. They are awesome. I just sharpened my blades and got a nice balance on them, keeping all the maintenance up as usual. Tomorrow its two lawns then on Friday i have two lawn s and then ill be leaving for my vacation. Anyways stan, god bless and go get em, your pal and friend Alexander costa
Second review of Ego stuff I've seen this week, I like it. If I was starting out with my own garden business I'd be very tempted to go entirely with this stuff. I've noticed these zero turn mowers with steering wheels turning up in videos a lot recently and they seem to be dividing opinion among operators, some saying that the bar steering system is far superior and these manufacturers shouldn't fix what isn't broken whereas others are saying the feel of having a steering wheel is better. I've only used steering wheel ride on mowers which front turn like the X305 and such so I can't compare yet though I am wondering if rear turning using a wheel could be why some people aren't liking it, I remember I found it weird the first time I used a forklift.
Im actually considering buying one of these, my mother does not like zero turns, but she loves mowing. Hope you are doing well Stan! Wishing you the best!
Hey Stan, thanks for the great videos. Could you do one that addresses a 24” seat wall on top of a 24” retaining wall and address adding columns to each end of the seat wall? Keep up the good work!
@@kdegraa I bought my first EGO leaf blower about 10 years ago and the battery lasted for about 9 years. In the past few years I have purchased more EGO products and the battery only lasted for about a year.
I gotta say one thing about your channel. Any company that sends you equipment to test out is one of two things. Either they are complete idiots who never watch your videos and have no idea the abuse their stuff is about to undergo, or two, they are EXTREMELY CONFIDENT in the quality of their product, because you are going to subject the equipment to NASA level stress testing. 🤣🤣👍
It's great to have good for people I don't need them i'm willing to bet captions are distracting And then you're doing nothing but reading what you're hearing least for me that's what it is I can't watch the show for reading
