This month, FNAM brings Martin Storrow, Aubrey Swander, and Ryan McCartan together for the first time to perform one of the many evocative songs from the new musical KING OF PANGAEA.
Life is a river. Grief is an island. KING OF PANGAEA is a musical exploration of grief, hope, and the power of imagination.
Throughout his childhood, Christopher Crow’s mother used to tell him colorful stories about an island called Pangaea. When she passes away unexpectedly, Christopher - now in college - decides that the only way he’ll find closure is to travel to Pangaea himself...if he can remember the way. Part memoir, part fantasy, KING OF PANGAEA travels the rich, complicated, and sometimes beautiful world of loss - weaving together elements of realism, humor, and whimsy. The show examines what it means to revisit our childhood worlds as we grow older, and what it takes to become king or queen of one’s own heart.
