Ryan McCartan revisits J.D., the role he originated off-Broadway in HEATHERS with "Freeze Your Brain" at the 3rd edition of 3RD MONDAYS on March 19, 2018 at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal, accompanied by Gerald Sternbach.

I think dan made the character more pitiful, whereas Ryan really emphasizes the sociopathic nature of JD. Dan’s version has more emotional expression and Ryan’s version has all these little deadpan moments which are really cool. I love seeing how different actors can take the same role different ways. (For the record, I don’t think one is better than the other, so don’t come for me, but I do like Ryan’s portrayal more)

Yeah I believe that this is for an event so he knew he had to prepare before enabling to perform it so well. Whilst she was doing it I think as just a time-passer/ after a vocal warm up in between shows. Either way they both still sing it amazingly

Gaaah I love this song! They nailed the casting on this. There may be better singers (maybe), but no one played the character like Ryan. Also I love how as the song goes on he progressively slips into the role and makes more expressions and hand movements
