New Nursing Program in South Africa?! This has been a debate that has caused a lot of confusion for many students, supervisors, lecturers and nursing staff. In this video I tackle it and show you the differences between the old (Regulation 425) and new (Regulation 174 and 171) programs and what this means for you as a prospective nursing student in 2021 and beyond.

Please don't take this video as a way to defer you from choosing to study nursing. Yes you won't graduate with four classes (general, psychiatric, midwifery and community nurse). But look at the positives: more focused learning in one field instead of being spread thin between four. Nursing is a calling, if it is yours, the training shouldn't deter that. At the end of the day, you are still a registered nurse: an amazing one at that!
