Thanks Sr. I'm just frustrated by the fact that after doing r171 , the advanced midwifery is the only nqf level 7 qualification that stands in my way of specializing. Advanced midwifery is a full time year course. Obtaining a study leave won't be easy as a new nurse. Career progression for r171 graduates won't be as smooth 😭
I understand how frustrating this can be. Let us hope and pray that there will be another way apart from the Advanced Midwifery to bridge the NQF level gap.
@@silindokuhlekwani7638 let's hope so, because it will be very difficult to have to leave work to study midwifery full time. Lapho I know I still want to study further 😫
Hi what can I do if ihv only matric national Certificate and I want to do nursing, where do I start and which nursing college is registered in pretoria, thnk u
So say I did the R171 and want to further my studies what is the next step? Like can I do a diploma in midwifery? Is there an honours program I can do?
Hello Tshamano… if you did the R171 program you will have to do another qualification like the diploma in midwifery before doing your an additional qualification.
Hey❤ I wanted to ask if let's say I have completed R. 171 qualification and I want to further my studies, is my next step automatically me doing R. 174?
Hi Kumkanikazi…. I highy doubt. The content covered in both causes might be similar.. rather do a one year bridging course to close the gap but not redo an undergrad course again.
Hi sr I am a nursing assistant i want to upgrade my study's to become PN . How can i register in your college . I'm working in western cape at the moment as ENA
Hy SR . . . I'd like to ask for myself. I did R425 I want to further my studies, is it possible to do Management or Education? And how can I go about doing that I recently qualified
@@botle6840 hi Bontle.. currently the admission requirements for Post graduate qualifications is an NQF level 8 qualification.. maybe some institutions might accept an NQF level 7 or recognize prior learning.. but as it stands, these are the minimum requirements for most higher education institutions.. for further clarification, I suggest you contact the institution you are interested to study at for more guidance.
Hlo..I need to know about R171 course...if I'm stuff nurse will I be credited for 1 year to become a general nurse as it was before with auxiliary nurse to R2175..
Hello, can you confirm what R2175 is ? Secondly, I highly doubt, seemingly there is no bridging course anymore, you will have to complete either R171/ R174 depending on where you have applied. I would suggest that you enquire from the institution you are hoping to study at to find out about their qualifications and their minimum requirements.
Hello Sr, i am currently in my first year of the R171 course. I am not happy there and i am wondering if i can switch to the R174 course in my second year since my current institute is having problems with SANC not wanting to provide registration exams for the institute. Would it be possible?
Hi there, please consult your institution and enquire more about their options that I available to you. I cannot comment on the possibility of it. All the best with your career.
What is the difference between those who have done 4 year diploma … how are they different to those who’ve done Bachelor’s degree … bc they also qualify as PN’s and midwives
Yes they both qualify as a professional nurse and midwife (both R425 qualifications) however the 4 year Diploma was pitched at NQF level 6 and the Degree is pitched at NQF level 8 (at Degree level). Meaning that a person who completed a NQF level 8 qualification will easily qualify to do a post graduate qualification/ Masters which is not the same case for now for those who have completed a Diploma in Nursing.
It is a professional practice exam (PPE) not board exam.. candidates who graduate from R174 qualification have to write a PPE and complete community service.
Hi sister tanx for explaining these levels .Hope you can be of help by advising me what fo do I'm a qualified midwife completed my course 4years ago .Would like to further my studies in psychiatric which I work for 3years and 6months .My trouble I do not have matric but was studying with motivation from my institution .I would love to continue as post graduated can I without matric .I'm not the only one more nurses sit with this problem and we work like 24 -27 years in services how can I go ahead please advise en help tanx
Hi sisi. I'd like to ask.....im currently doing my first year for the R171 course, can i get credited so i do R174 in a university, meaning that since I've completed my first year I'll have to do 3more years in university? Is my question clear sisi
Hi Sesona… I think I get your question. I would suggest that you enquire from the University you are hoping to study at. Enquire from them how they can help you. They will be more helpful.
@@sesonabatyi4314 It is crucial to remember that the R171 is a NQF level 6, but the Bachelors is a NQF level 8, implying that you would need to complete a NQF 7 course before enrolling in the Bachelors. For now we hope the advanced midwifery course will be the bridge to articulate from diploma R171 to R174.
