Yes! My precious fish daughter is getting a skill tree, unfortunately, there are no other Merm variants (R.I.P. Fishermerm). But hooray for Merm buffs as it's insanely fun to slaughter bosses with a hoard of Merms. Especially since I want to make a Merm village in my Wolfgang world. Winona's interesting as well and might be worth taking a look into.
An odd thing is that they are seemingly making an Archaic skin to every survivor who gets a skilltree. Yet Wilson only has his rework skin, despite not getting a rework and only getting a skilltree.
As a Wurt player, I will say that the Armermy sounds VERY nice depending on what the stats are for the stuff it's giving the merms. There's a reason me and my friend love running Wurt and Wigfrid, giving your merm armies defense is insanely powerful, and the only thing holding it back is resources

These new skills trees are so much better than the older ones that they’re just going to have to go back and rework the first handful…. Why does klei do this to themselves lmao. Wurt and Winona skill trees blow Wendy’s, for example, out of the water
Still dont understand the purpose of skill trees, they couldve easily just made most of these inherent character benefits like winona being able to fuel generators with pure horror/brilliance. never liked the fact that you have to choose the light or dark path each world and cant change it later on too, feels very much out of place with all the other content in the game
After all the hotfix tweaks I cant say I have issues with this update,it seems well balanced and quite sensible Only things Im bothered with is weird design philosophy but overall I actually enjoy what it adds
Exactly, it's all the choices that get made that continue to give me pause, not the actual Skill Trees themselves. Fun and facts can be separated when talking the fundamentals of the characters and I believe these two are the epitome of that.

Welp, no merm variants. I guess ill just play pretend in the meantime. The ones near the farm with "tilling tools" shall be "farming variants". The ones near the logging section are "gathering variants" or some kinda lumberjack merm, etc. Its not exactly merm variants but it works for me with a lil imagination. 8/10 Wurt update, almost perfect.
I think that the lunar affinity and shadow affinity stuff is to represent how the shadows are about magic and such, due to Charlie having most reign over the constant and the lunar is to represent technology from wagstaff, as the lunar side isn't as strong with magic so relies on technology to bring out it's real power and I think this is proven from some of the character's skill trees
That's how it is NOW because Klei forced it, sure, but that is NOT how it was going to be back in the day. Just looked at how powerful Lunar stuff is within Forgotten Knowledge. Klei decided to make Wagstaff the lunar affinity dude when he really shouldn't have been.
I see it more as being Wild vs Tamed. Shadow is a wild force in the constant, dominating creatures and being a 'force of will' type power. Lunar is a source of creation, both mystic and mundane. Not sure if that tracks for everyone, that's just the impression I've had.
Can't believe they've done all those previous updates to make all the characters as balanced as possible and now they are ruining all that work by turning every single one into an overpowered mess that doesn't even fit in the games style
To be fair, you can only access the op stuff after deafeating the final bosses of the game; in addition, i think they will soom update the game with new stuff
The skill trees didn’t look good at the beginning tbh. Amazing how small changes made such a huge difference. I’m glad they let the merms help wurt with farming. She now seems to be one of the most comfortable character to play as.
The Winona charlie affinity skills is the strangest and most out of place skills in the entire game they are just a bunch of completely random perks that doesn't fit the playstyle they are just kinda there Especially that bridge one fits Maxwell more as he is the mage character
I love the game and love all the ideas and mechanics but damn i just cant stand the idea that some char cant eat meat or vice versa make some kind of sanity penalty or something just dont conpletely prevent the eating part! Feels like you miss out on huuuge deliciously drawn food content such a shame for such beautiful art.

hey beard i think they made some structures take up less space when i was making a croc pot setup it the radius it took up was really small compared to yesterday, using geometric placement ofc
Literally have nothing for you on that front since my last video on it and even that was pure luck to have stumbled upon new information for it. They're just not doing much with it in Western Markets at the moment, mostly Asian Markets instead.
I feel like making Merm's almost HAVE to be full combat focused was an interesting choice... in the wrong direction... 😅 Doesn't mean they're bad because they're anything but however I don't really feel like that fit Wurt all that well.
@@TheBeard777 i like the tool part, i just think she had issues that didnt get solved. More specifically, her setup My biggest issue with wurt is that she is basically the only character that needs to explore the ocean for her core mechanic. And she is locked away from making merm huts in winter due to ponds being frozen. Ignoring these two issues, i think she was already one of the best characters, after you got her setup going. But until you go through all that, she is just a vegan that can run fast on the swamp and has no problem being wet
Can the enlightened shard gemerator be used by anyone once it is set by Winona? And does it just keep refueling itself? Like, I could set it at my hound farm and come back in a few days to hounds teeth?
The whole point of enlightened shard generators is that they constantly recharge, you just have to contend with the overloading mechanics. As for players using Winona's stuff; yes, that's still possible however ONLY Winona gets the special catapult projectiles - even if gens are powered by pure horror or pure brilliance.
@@TheBeard777 As with spiders, medic merm,various swamp items, for example, a swamp spear. At least it's better than a spike bomb .As with Willow, special abilities, for example, mud-related abilities, could have a slowing effect. It's better than brain or life regeneration. and I think it makes sense.The army management is able to choose where to go or where to attack, to give direction, to interact more with the King.
For early game? Clearly Charlie's as nightmare fuel and pure horror will be more abundant than pure brilliance and enlightened shards. That said, if you choose Wagstaff's to get the teleporting stuff AND THEN switch to Charlie's with a Celestial Portal than I think you'd be golden!

i hope they can now work on a walter skill tree, i know he has both good and bad sides but the important thing is he doesnt have that many perks he needs more mechanics like more bullet types for his slingshot? or an upgrade to his slingshot with expensive materials? these will revive him from the most hated character title, SO PLEASE... BRING HIM A SKILL TREE ALREADY!

Orange gems+Pearl is the new meta; Still sleep all crabs with one panflute play, can break the ice barrier easily as it's not upgraded, and none of his other bits - the claws or towers - are upgraded to a level that matters.
Kinda like the wort stuff. Hope Webber gets his skill tree soon. One thing I was hoping we would get out of an update to water is that the bigger the fish the more fish meat we got. So if its a small fry you might only get the normal one fish but if its really big you might get three or even four of whatever meat it drops. It takes so much time to fish it really should give you food for a day or two if you spend the time to do it.
This is what happens when I don't cover Hotfixes leading up to the BIG, FULL releases... Everything gets crammed into one, massive video as best as it can. 😬
It seems like you can make your own proper kingdom now as Wurt, though I do have to wonder if there is a real purpose to it, at least your base will be safe.
@@TheBeard777 Well, everything seem a little off. Now she has Maxwell's core power, and that's just sad to his mains. I was expecting something with lunar frogs in her skillstree. I like that they tried to put new wetness mechanics for her, but... Using it as armor? Like Gaara with the sand? lol.
