Here's one of the legendary fans that present in my childhood. National model F-EU 309, produced in 2000-2003. This fan could be one of my favorites. Personally, I really love their tinted blades fans [especially the green ones] that they used to produce in the 90s to early 2000s. Even though these fans used to be quite popular (especially the 16" version), nowadays these fans are considered rare, because they are rarely found in any conditions.
I got this fan from one of my acquaintances who is a reseller from an old appliances that is no longer operating. Let's say that they are a wholesale group (borongan) of goods claimed due to disasters such as floods/fires. So, these remaining items are actually still good and functional, but they are not perfect, which you can see from the dirty & half-destroyed box, and some of the fan parts that are half rusty, especially the motor part. So from him, I bought more fans from the '90s to early 2000s for me to collect, review, and maybe sell haha.
Fortunately, this fan still comes in completely complete condition, such as accessories and manuals which are still sealed. At first, I was a bit concerned because when I opened the motor part, there were thousands of dead ants. I don't know why, but are the ants attracted to the fan lubricant? Or were they actually the occupants of this fan motor that was in the box for 20 years? No one knows. What is certain is that I have cleaned the ants from the motor and given it a little lubrication so that it will run smoothly.
Physically, this fan looks almost identical to my Panasonic wall fan, except for the rear grill, the National has a handle, while the Panasonic doesn't. Also, the National's stickers & tinted blades color are more attractive IMO, they really match the broken white color of the grill and plastic body.
The build quality is basically the same as the Panasonic, with a sturdy grille & plastic body. However, I noticed that Panasonic's QC could be said to be neater, specifically in terms of detailed cuts and the softness of the product surface.
When this fan is turned on, its character feels so different from other Panasonic/KDK wall fan. On this fan, the RPM is faster, and what is most noticeable is its motor sound which that tends to be dominant. Although the Panasonic fan motor also makes a hum noise. Meanwhile, like my National Stand fan, this fan motor produces a hum that is more... something, that I love from older Matsushita fans!
