Just received mine about half an hour ago. Charged the battery and looked it over. The quality and workmanship is out of the park. Its a work of art. Had a blade 230s model in my Spektrum DX8g2 , got lazy and bound it to that just to test it out. Bound right up and everything seemed to work fine holding it above my head while working the controls in normal mode. Brought it out to the back yard and took off, flies just awesome, super smooth and stable, responsive. Landed and took off again and buzzed around the yard, awesome again. Its hot as frequin hell here in western Nebraska so I will go back out later. Got this from Anything Heli in Wisconsin. Cannot recommend them enough. Buy it , you'll like it!
@@NuanDaa No, even when tamed down with lower head speed and self leveling modes its still a bit too powerful. However if you have an experienced pilot by your side for a few sessions then maybe OK for an inexperienced beginner. JMO, others may disagree.
I have two of the original M2's and absolutely love them! These are precision flying machines of top quality! Hopefully you guys are working on a larger size with the same features!?
Nice, I'm ordering mine the M2 V2 in a week. This looks like a top quality heli and will be my backyard flyer. My bigger birds scare the shit out of the neighbors so I need something smaller.
sup buddy, me again~ Do you have M1 ? by any chance, do you have a rescue mode with a Spektrum transmitter? I am using the normal mode as the rescue, however, sometimes not working well, especially when the heli is inverted.
@@43SunSon sorry bro do not have the M1, almost pulled the trigger on it but decided its a bit too small for me. Don't have rescue mode set up either in the M2. I do know that there are some vids here on YT that show how to set it up in the M1 and M2. Hopefully that can help your out, good luck.
@@rcas350pilot8 dang, you must get the skills. I got m2 yesterday, but ..... i crashed it at the same day, day one! . I think the rescue mode so bad. haha
@@43SunSon Take it easy for christ sake, crashing a brand new heli not good. The M2 has insane power. Go slow and get the feel for it. Hopefully you did not have a hard crash and put it in the dirt under full power. The good thing is they are easy to work on and you do get some spare parts.
@@rcas350pilot8 man, it was a really hard crash under full power 3d model. I was too happy for the first 2 batteries. Then I forgot who I am, decided to go invert with 100% head speed. I freaked out, don't know what to do, I do try to switch back to normal mode, but it happened too fast. So, the tail boom broken into 2 pieces, and the tail motor flew away with the propeller (even I can't find it on the grass). But thanks god, I flew it on the grass, at least seems like every part besides all the tail parts are fine.
Hello Buddy RC. Yeah I jus bought a new omphobby m2 explore one month ago and just made a few changes on mine. Looks nice & different cool looking as wll. I just took a first flight was very nervous and scared. I posted on my RU-vid channel. Going to make a another flight with my new changes video. Nice helicopter
TJ, I currently own a gen1 m2 besides the new explore composite plastic frame and parts new updated esc/gyro what does the new gen m2 have over the original gen1? I also want to say that explore you picked up looks killer in charm orange very nice goblin style design canopy.. I really liked your transmitter setups rundown aswell.... Keep up the great content....

That hideous purple color besides maybe using the same esc/gyro as with new explore is maybe what I noticed... I'm not. I moved to Columbus Jan 2019 to be closer to family. So this is my only gig now 😊 And the v2/explore are just variations and upgrades over the original where the original parts will still be made so you're not forced to upgrade

If I bind my Explore to my Spektrum DX9, Do I do all the setup inside the DX9 ? or do I need to program anything into the OMP flight controller ? This is my first adventure with an OMP Heli
Hi. I don't or more to the point cant fly 3d due to not wanting to crash much, purely economics but I am quite proficient in flying a cp heli around my backyard. This model looks awesome and would like to add to my hanger or am I wasting my time money as I already have a Blade 130s and 230s.
Hello, I just saw your video and noticed you spoke about 3 different flight modes, the stabilized, the soft and the 3D. what exactly are the differences? thank you for the informational video
The key differences are in 'normal' mode it has self stabilization and lower rates/higher expos. 'soft 3d' is a lower head speed and a little higher rates/expos and 'violent 3d' is high head speed and high rates/expo
@@BuddyRC ah okay, thanks, I thought it "assists in inverts" or something like that. god it did not do so. I have the original M2 (V1?) and I am still blown away by the quality. the V2 does not seem like an upgrade to me to be honest because of the alloy tail, the carbon looks so much nicer, but the construction.... sugar
Is there a "regular" mode where there is no autolevel and also no idle up. Example throttle down is no motor and slight negative pitch (to keep heli down on landing and spool up) then about 1/2 throttle 0 pitch and then positive up from there.
Yeah, you’d just set it up that way in your radio’s pitch and throttle curves when you set it up. But I would only do that for a heli that is to be flown in a scale-like manner, slow hovering around. If you plan to learn to 3D fly it later, I’d skip the whole normal mode thing and set it up with 80-100% flat throttle curve and a -80/+80 or so pitch curve. That way you don’t have to un-learn bad habits later.
@@emersonb5764 thanks, its above my skill level right now. I can fly my cp 450 right side up pretty well but no inverted or 3d. I probably should set it up like you said to learn the way its supposed to be. Also I need more SIM time for that mode as well.
The stock battery is a perfect fit. I know people are using other batteries with 3d printed parts to allow for different sizes. But without modifying there's not much wiggle room if any.
Hey Leith! This is actually something that is being discussed! As of right now there is not a direct supplier there. However there are talks going on that hopefully it will happen very soon.
Anyone else find 3-D flying kind of boring and redundant at times. To each his own, but for me, light 3-D at the most, otherwise these things look like bugs that are on speed.
