Got it for free during Ryobi days last yea (tool only with the purchase of two 4ah batteries for $99). 💸 It has become my go to limbing chainsaw🪵 ( super light weight with an 8" bar). The one drawback 👎🏼 is that the bar does become loose though, during regular use... I make sure to spray mine with silicone spray before, during and after use to prevent excessive wear. All in all a very useful and reliable addition to my chainsaws collection RYOBI 10" 40v expand-it pole saw(oil version) and my RYOBI 40v 14" chainsaw 👍🏻
Lol. Seems like it huh? But nah, not even close. If the stick or branch is thicker then the stroke is long on your recip, then you don’t clear the chips out of the cut or the blades teeth and you just end up rubbing wood chips back and forth instead of cutting it. Don’t think for one minute you can cut up an 10 inch diameter tree with your 12 inch wood blade and a reciprocating saw. It doesn’t work like that.
Mine worked good until it didn't. Motor quit while cutting 6" madrone. Bought it from Amazon a year ago. Supposed factory 3 year warranty only good if bought from Home Depot! So no warranty for mine even though book says 3 year factory warranty. I took it apart, a brush in the motor broke.. Motor no longer available from Ryobi. Guess it's a throw-away. No more Ryobi's from Amazon for me.
@@jaxturner7288 or you know you do some research, this chain does not spin fast enough to cause wear on the chair or bar. This was tested many thousands of hours by Ryobi and verified before being brought to market. Thanks to them you will be seeing alot of oil-less low speed designs coming to market.
@@JamesMKE yeah okay 👌. That explains the whole section in the owner’s manual about oiling the bar and chain manually with an oil can and how it is necessary, what to use and how often to do it🤔. Besides that, think for yourself, do slow moving chains NOT need lubricant for some reason? How fast do you think a chain on a garage door opener or the chain on your bike moves kid? Not as fast as this chain moves I assure you. And obviously those chains need oil right? Even though they are moving extra super slow compared to say, this chain? So obviously slow/fast is irrelevant as to chain lubrication requirement or lack there of. Besides that, the chain and bar are manufactured by another well known company and they advise that both products are to be lubricated during use. So Ryobi gives directions to oil it and say to do it so often and the manufacturer of the actual items in question say to oil them….. and you say don’t. 👌 Talk about needing to do some research….
@@jaxturner7288 not true I own this tool and there is nothing about oiling it in the manual im looking at it right now . Hence the oil free design on the packaging. Just stop. You lost. Also kid I've never oiled a garage door chain and have had the same one 15+ years.
@@JamesMKE just because you never oiled your door opener’s chain doesn’t mean you’re not supposed to, it just means you didn’t read the manual for that either. 👌
