Ryobi released both the HP pruning chainsaw / Mini Chainsaws, we love these little powerhouses because they are small, light and super easy to take with you. You never have to worry about lugging a gas powered boat anchor or have to maintain it. Just pick up the electric and start cutting! I really like both of the chainsaws but the 8" is something special!

Right now, it looks like the 8-in one is the same price with or without the battery and charger. Some sort of promo. $149 either way.

Cant recall if the model #s are mentioned in the vid, but a listing for them in the description would be helpful. seems the model #s are: P25013 and PSBCW01 ... correct?

I have the 8" and it is perfect for yardwork. You aren't going to fell a full grown oak with it, but to knock back limbs or take out suckers, it will get the job done quickly and easily.

The description for these says "Oil-Free" design. Yet, most mentioned it does need oil. Why is that? Do you have to use specifically a Bar Oil, or can I use any oil llike 3in1 oil? Are there any other types of maintenance required for this? Will the 6" easily cut through a wooden pallet? thx

You need to put oil on the bar and chain.

You have to put oil on the bar and chain manually. TAKE TYE BATTERY OUT WHEN YOU DO!

Why do you have to put oil on the chain if it says oil free? I can’t find it anywhere in the directions where it says to oil the chain. Did I miss it?

@@marciar8909 Because marketing lies, The chain is a chain saw chain just like every other chain saw chain, The bar is a chain saw bar just like every other chain saw bar, If you rub metal together with no lubrication? it will wear out MUCH faster then it would have WITH lubrication. Ryobi is simply lying to you to get you to ruin your chains and bars sooner so that you have to buy more. PLEASE TAKE THE BATTERY OUT WHEN OILING THE CHAIN AND BAR FOR SAFETY SAKE!!!! We both want you to keep all your fingers 😊

Great video, I've been intrigued about these small chainsaws for a minute. I have the bigger 12" brushless chainsaw, but the smaller 8" looks really good. It would be great to see a head to head with the Milwaukee or DeWalt pruning saw.
