OneUp Components Hubs.
Lightweight, fully sealed, durable, hubs with high quality bearings. Available in a range of colours. We think our hubs have the best combination of performance, durability and price. These are the hubs we want on our bikes.
Our simple design has fewer parts, this reduces weight and improves reliability. Our hubs use a fully machined 7075 aluminum body with integrated drive ring, that’s super light and strong.
A hub is only as good as its bearings. OneUp Hubs use premium EnduroTM ABEC 5 cartridge bearings in standard sizes that are readily available in local bike shops around the world. They’re spaced as wide as possible to reduce wear, reduce sideloading and increase bearing life. And when they do eventually wear out, our design makes it easy to replace bearings yourself.
We’ve optimized the hub flange spacing to improve the strength and stiffness of wheels built on our hubs. OneUp hubs are compatible with J-bend spokes only. Wheel build specs (PCD, Flange Distance) are written on the hub body to make life easier for builders. Freehubs are sold separately to make life easier for shops.
Specs:
Spacing: Boost front and rear
Holes: 28 and 32
Engagement: 44 points, 8.2 degrees
Weight front: 142g
Weight rear: 220g (with XD freehub)
Colours: Black, red, green, blue, orange, purple, grey
Material: 7075 T6 Aluminum
Freehub options: XDr, Microspline, HG (tool free installation)
Spokes: J-Bend only
Brake Mount: IS 6 Bolt only
End Caps: Double sealed (tool free installation)
Bearings: Enduro Abec 5 (Front - MR17287, Rear 6902, Freehub 6802)
Freehub Seal: Enduro

A concern for my Ebike and I.....Drive ring made of Al (the shell) mated with steel. Is that a fast wear point? There's a reason others using steel. I know you guys are magic with your designs, but can your "magic" beat this material strength differential?
@jshemuel
@jshemuel 3 месяца назад
Genuinely curious how the drive ring being machined into the shell, resulting in all that wear on 7075, will hold up over time. (Comparing, of course, to the steel that DT makes their threaded drive ring from). They look like a rad new hub set otherwise!
@zoranpl
@zoranpl 3 месяца назад
That steel drive ring on Dt swiss is still threaded to Alu hub body...I assume that the endurance is similar..If the aluminum microspline does not have any problems with the cassette, I think this one will not have any problems either, it has a similar design, slightly deeper channels.
@jshemuel
@jshemuel 3 месяца назад
@@zoranpl but the "wear" of threads tightening over time is not remotely the same as splines that intermittently engage and disengage under torque
@richardelsdon2027
@richardelsdon2027 3 месяца назад
Dt ratchet ring is sprung on both sides. So the drive ring has to be steel as the ratchet ring slides back and forth in it during freewheeling. This looks like only the freehub side is sprung. Possible the alu could deform under load, but it looks pretty deep so even if it does, it shouldn’t affect anything.
@zoranpl
@zoranpl 3 месяца назад
@@jshemuel I know the man who destroyed that thread on the dt swiss hub... first time I saw it in my life... He could just thrown it away. This system seems more durable to me... the material will have marks but it will still do the job

8.2 degrees is not a new benchmark. That's way too high, when there's hubs with as low as 2 degrees that exist. Also, machining the drive ring into the hub itself means that if it's going to fail, that's a hub replacement, instead of drive ring replacement.

I hate to break to you, but there is a fatal flaw in your design. Aluminum is much softer than steal. The steel insert is maybe 20 grams difference. @1:18 The pressed in drive ring is a wearable. As much as i love oneup, 8.2° of engagement isn't the new benchmark. The feeling of hydra near instant engagement or onyx true instant engagement isn't gonna be beat by these. Tight engagement is hugely noticeable, hugely beneficial, and makes a bike feel tight and quiet (other than the hub buzz)
@MillerRL96
@MillerRL96 3 месяца назад
Idk about hugely beneficial. Hugely marketed that’s for certain. If you can’t make it up a techy climb with 8.2 degrees engagement that’s a skill issue not a hub issue. More engagement more pedal kickback.

@maplic
@maplic 3 месяца назад
@@MillerRL96 0.52° vs 8.52° is noticeable, quite noticeable. Moreover, next to no engagement is so quiet. And a quiet bike is a quiet mind and a fast bike. If you don't appreciate a quiet bike, then maybe the higher engagement ain't for you. Not only does it make a noticeable difference on technical climbing, it makes a difference in preloading your rear suspension for jumping. I highly doubt you've even tried it if you are arguing against it.

The only detail that worries me is the drive spline cut directly into the hub shell. There's a very good reason just about everyone else has a steel spline here. Aluminium doesn't take high surface pressures and having other parts sliding on it anything like as well. If the hub body is also 7075 (The freehub is 7075 according to the video, and it absolutely needs to be as anything softer will get chewed in no time by the cassette under any half way strong rider) and it's hard anodised it will still last longer than most people will ever need though. Otherwise the design looks very sensible. I'll be looking at these if the Pro4 Hopes I've already got ever give trouble that's not immediately covered on their warranty.
