(One of these days) (One of these days) I like walking in the park When it gets late at night I move `round in the dark (the dark) And leave when it gets light I sit around by day Tied up in chains s
Sub culture was before NEW ORDER ..BLUE MONDAY (absolutely smashed it ,walls what a tune it was n still is )THE POWER USED TO SHAKE MY HOLE BEING ...it felt FANTASTIC TO DANCE FREE , no fella,s ,,no harm to you gentleman intending, fellas)but that FREEDOM .... I WAS ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES♡**it was only the beginning!!!🎉🎉🎉 to dance ***away you feel ..aaaaaa we never knew it was the time of OUR LIVES
The bridges at 4:10 and 6:49 masterful, along with the background vocals, never gets old even after 30 years. The only reason I had a record player for the 12"s
No matter what I was doing or who I was talking with, when this song came on I immediately went to dance. One of my all time faves...right up there with Shriekback and Camouflage and the song Send me an Angel
Honestly I really like this song just because of the lyrics are a great representation of alienation. Going back to your home and being alone. Walking in the park alone at night. Shaft being masturbation and the idea of submitting is using masturbation to compensate for lacking intimacy. Trying and missing meaning to try and get with someone and failing. Really a great song.
Better than the original track. Needs to be dig up for some director’s Noir Soundtrack.. Redolent of dark endless evenings in black box NYC & San Francisco. A compulsive re-listen. One of the best remixes of It’s or Any time.
not sure what to even type..best track ever especially the 12 remix..masterpiece of the 80's and still until this day gives you goose bumps. UNREAL!!! Was my year book quote...In the end you will submit its got to hurt a little bit..whatever that means :)
Honestly prefer this remix version to the original, although that might be 'cause it's the version on Substance, which the only New Order album I own... so far! Definitely one of my faves.
+camann33 Wow, amazed by your comment. I've sifted through many many versions of this remix just to find the one that included 4:45 to 5:39. Thanks to DubVulture 1963 for posting.
I am 42 years old and now will never give up my dreams of going to London and opening up 3 music business. 1.Record Shop 2.Record Magazine 3.And a Dance/Music Studio/Focus on New Wave/Post Joy Division Revival Music
***** Blue Monday was pioneering and had an excellent '88 mix, but Dub Vulture was such a sensational mix of this track (although the album version was special too), for me, it elevates it above Blue Monday. But whether it elevates it above the perfection of Your Silent Face or the beauty of the album version of Bizarre Love Triangle or the epic Temptation is another question.....I'd say, probably not.
Best version of Subculture. Wish I could get a decent digital version of the original Substance 1987, as the versions around these days don't have this remix on them. If anyone knows where it can be found..?
+Rachel Fildes Substance was just a compilation. This 12'' remix can be also found on any Low Life Collector's Edition (on amazon there are plenty of choices www.amazon.com/Low-Life-CD-Collectors-New-Order/dp/B001FBJUKY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1442500748&sr=8-1&keywords=new+order+low+life )
its best 2 know ur not naked, then u wont be held accountable.. but to know, open countless doors n countless lives bodies. trying 2 make it back home.
Because NO removed for sell it on their collects editions. :/ But if we think that probably that ones complaying about epic versions like this is not on streaming are the people that PAY Spotify, yeas...Is a shame this version ISN'T there
Jamey Mosley no, first of all, Ian was part of joy division, which every new order member except Gillian was in. Second, this is Steven Morris, their drummer
When I first heard this in 1987 I hated it. To me, they had fucked up a perfect track. The original was powerful, deep, and mysterious. This was almost comical. It still hasn't grown on me, lol. Even the dj subscription service Razormaid did a horrible remix of this in 1986. Nothing tops the original.
Does any hardcore NO fans know why sometimes the lead singer sings very good with a unique style and sometimes he is like a dude at a karaoke party? Very off key and off pitch? To me I think its just him trying to be different?
