Does the red dial model only come with baton indices and the teal dial only comes with round indices? I guess the watch with the baton indices is a Mako and watch with round indices is a Ray.
Mine is blue, three years old now. I just love it but maybe I'm into my last year. When it was new it ran 3 seconds fast in 24hrs and now it's up to +12. It'll be a bummer when it isn't useful anymore, I really enjoy it but the service price is prohibitive.
Wait the green one is a newer kamasu? As of when. I just bought one that has the markets all around similar to the red one. Maybe I go an old one..? Model numbers so confusing
The movement is the same, the crystal is the same. The finish is a bit different because the side of the case of the new one is brushed. Also the bezel is different. It really depends on which one looks better for you. I went for the old one because I like the bezel and the indices more.
Orient does not name their models officially, but the watch community does, unofficially, of course. The Mako III and Kamasu are both such names for the same models.
It's not. Officially, it isn't called anything but its serial number. Having said that, officially none of the Orient divers are called by their names known to us. They have been named by the public. In practice, those Orient divers with numerical/stick indices are the ones that are called Mako and the onew with Rolex-style round indices are Rays. So this one should actually be called Ray III.
