I have the black/grey one and it’s amazing. I can’t stop looking at the dial. So much character and personality but also very versatile and understated.
Agreed. The Kamasu is just about perfect, and a great value. I wish I could justify have every color way of both variants; alas, there are other places where the money must go.
A lot of good opinions about bracelet in the previous version 😂 I had to changed this bracelet for strapcode because original is very low quality. I hope crown is upgraded in the new version.
the previous kamasu had more personality imo, these are beautiful watches but lean more towards submariner looks. i really love rectangular indexes and the green color scheme of the original kamasu is incredible, the watch appears almost black most of the time and amazes me every time it shows its true colors under the light, i would also miss all the dots on the bezel insert and the red detail on the seconds hand. the only minor changes i would consider would be: a well aligned chapter ring instead of the rehaut, a slightly larger crown possibly at 4 o'clock position but 3 is fine, maybe a 40mm version with 20mm jubilee bracelet instead of oyster.. the seiko blue for saturday is also something i like, a nice touch could be saturday in the same color of the bezel.
100 % agree with you. I will get my kamasu tomorrow, but the previous one not this one. I have also a citizen promaster and i like the dot lums on the dial. Hopfully i will like the sharp lines lumes on the kamasu when it arrives. I ordered the teal one. I'll also replace the bracelet with BC rubber strap.
@@pregardt i have the teal version too, i'm sure you will like it a lot. i've immediately removed the bracelet, fitted a jubilee from an skx (it's a heavy watch, a strapcode would be too much weight imo) and ordered a black nato strap. i don't like homages or when watch companies try milk the submariner look, the previous kamasu is very original and distinct way more than this new iteration, maybe the case is a bit "submariner-ish" but for a watch enthusiast there are enough differences to not consider it a submariner homage.
Original Kamasu models with baton markers are not AA08, at least not in the USA; rather, they are AA000. My blue-dial is reference # RA-AA0006L19B. As our host notes, take care in placing an order.
I'm look forward for Orient to make one Bronze Patina diver watch in the future 😍. I already have my Orient Ray 2 Blue Dial btw and I start to love this watch brand 🤗
There is another way to get a "bronze" Orient diver. Check out reference # RA-AC0K04E10B. Different model with 4-o'clock crown, 43.4 mm case, completely different color and vibe, but to me equally good looking.
If Orient would only add a ceramic bezel option - most customers would gladly pay the additional $25 or $30 USD that it would cost. Anyone who has owned a watch with a superbly strong anti - scratch sapphire crystal and a weak, scratch and dent magnet aluminum bezel - will absolutely agree - ceramic is worth the added cost - are you listening Orient?!?!
Ceramic would elevate the watch to a whole other level! Fell in love with the brand on my first trip to Japan but have been on the fence in regards to buying a driver for that very reason! I think ceramic bezel for sure (maybe even as an option / test the market) and to go all the way and tick all the boxes, that basic stamped driver extension used on the old Aquaracers and you've got a winning driver that would open up to another level of customer base. 😀
@@BeauWJangles I don't know... There is something classic about the character of an aluminium bezel that has taken a few knocks and scrapes and has faded a little - gives the watch a kind of rugged, vintage vibe. Ceramic, to my eyes is a little hard and glossy, and it'll stay that way for ever - a bit more jewellery than tool watch. In the end it comes down to a matter of taste and preference - no "right" answer.

They are using the same bracelet because of a lot of good reviews. 🤣 I wonder who they sought the reviews from. Either amateurs or they have been in their dreamland.
Thank you for the feedback. In your opinion what improvements would you love to see on the bracelet? Feel free to quote any existing examples in the same price bracket if any.
@@bigtimesgp7546 perhaps milled clasp with solid end links. I get that for the price they are asking, we can't expect too much from them. But it makes me wonder who would give thumbs up and says a press clasp and hollow end links are good.
The dial colors are very nice but it's unfortunate that Orient went with Submariner-style dials rather than with the original "shark teeth." The only thing that is unchanged is the design of the bezel. I guess I will have to grab one of the V1 Kamasu's since they may be phased out if these pieces are to replace them.
