@@hoodscene8897 i live here, and I traveled abroad, example Nigeria have streets like N.O. The infrastructure of this city is on par with a 3rd world country. Our S&W pumps is over 100 years old, and by god if it is a light rain the pumps get over heated and fail.
@@crimepays8358 that's the thing, the U.S is richer yet the infrastructure is on par with Nigeria. The U.S shouldn't be lacking this badly when it comes to taking care of its self.
I’ll never thought dude would come to my H88D. My lil brother got kilt ona street you went up inna 8 that shit hurt my feelings jus seeing that spot. RIP D-MAN7
Saw my block here! It looks rough sometimes but overall I'd say it's absolutely not "the worst". Of course, it's good to be cautious but I never had any problems around here. Someone in the comments suggested you do the Mississippi Delta, Charlie, and I think that'd be a good idea! Also, I used to live in St. Joseph, MO and some parts of town are a strange mix of abandoned hoods and old Victorian mansions (which are absolutely gorgeous btw). Very unique urban landscape. Thank you for your work, I like these exploration videos !! :)
Love the milk crate basketball hoop now that is ghetto.Charlies going to need a wheel alignment. Many of the Katrina victims were sent to Los Angels and housed in a downtown building where I worked as a Security Guard. They had lost everything but were still very nice people.
This was a drive down memory lane for me. I lived in a house on that corner where the blue dumpster is at around the 13:37 mark. Went to John A. Shaw up there on Arts St., Thurgood Marshall up on Canal St., and L.E. Rabouin up there on Carondelet. I graduated in 2005 just 3 months before Katrina hit. These streets have many stories.
You know I can understand bad roads here in the north east..(where I'm at here in Massachusetts) winters are bad.. roads take a beating.. snow, sleet, freeing temperatures, pot holes everywhere! ... but there is no reason why this city should have such bad roads for it residents! City of New Orleans fix the roads!
@@SimplyCiCi894 I remember when they finally redid my street, Almonaster. It was messed up when I moved over there in the early 90s and it didn't get redone until the 2000s like a year or two before I graduated
@@claertonarcoverde7053 Unless you count " Training Day " as example but other than that you pretty much right : this is something you don't often see in " American cinema " .
@Shaise Kindering That's based in Los Angeles, California. This shows you the difference between a rich state & one of the poorest in the US. Money makes a big difference in living conditions.
Ironic the video starts right in the 8th ward on spain st...my family owns the skyblue house on the left and the yellow on the right. buy back the block.
Mickvlo im going out there in August never been there any spots u recommend going? And yeah i wanted to hit up where master p and juvenile grew up at even tho i heard they rebuilt those areas
Gerry Gizzy Garcia visit Frenchmen st. It’s where real New Orleanians get down and the food on point, not Bourbon st. The Calliope and Magnolia is no longer projects rather “mixed income housing” but it’s still the hood fa sho.
This is ghetto but the Rust belt areas like Detroit look like legit impoverished 3rd world countries it’s crazy! California hoods ain’t look to bad compared to these smh but he got hella hobos tho
He from 13th Ward actually. He used to rep it at first, then switch to 3 and 13, and now just reps 3rd Ward. and Juvie used to say "Stop repping my hood." when they were beefin Mannie Fresh is from the 7th
@@newphilmz3605 Baby is actually from the 3rd and they moved to the 13th where he grew up but he always hustled in the Nolia.... that’s why he rep both sections
lll give someone a 50 cent bag of potato chips for one of those homes in this video. I know I'm ripping myself off by spending a quarter too much for one of these houses, but I dont think they'll find a better deal. I'll even toss in a soda..Now you'd be lucky to get a stick of gum for one of these homes I'm offering a bag of chips and soda. that's a great deal u wont find everyday..I'll give 20.00 for all the houses in that neighborhood..All those houses combined is like 10.00. I'm doubling the going rate.
See Charlie New Orleans is just like Detroit. That's my hometown. And I have family in Flint. So can't nobody tell me nothing!!!! I live Flint and Detroit and a little live for The N.O.💓
Charlie needs to get himself some sponsorship from Michelin or Firestone because we need to keep this man rolling. Years to come this is going to be important footage and my man's car is taking a beating haha
@@ПетрМарков-у3щ ,i remember your comments on a video of 6May , and you said " hello from Honduras 😂.." , that was so funny, I like your humour a lot 🤗👍
Personally, I watch Charlie's videos to gain perspective. A lot of his subscribers will chime in and give little tidbits and lesser known history about the neighborhood he's visiting. For instance, in this video we get to see the effects Hurricane Katrina had not only on the people of New Orleans, but the businesses, infrastructure, and local culture.
@@thadon1067 All good, just proving a point for those who understand. I don't like seeing these videos, it's sad and I know why it's sad. Because of the democrat party. Wish you folks would understand that and start pushing back. Life would improve for us all.
