Paslode has a long history of making awesome cordless nailers. This new CFN325XP is the latest iteration of the lineup. Make sure you are following my instagram (@)rrbuildings, because I will be giving away some new guns soon. While there are many options out there in the cordless framing nailer segment, after using them all it's pretty obvious to see why paslode is still a leader in the industry.

Pasloade the best framing nailer ever Mande. I’m a framer/home remodeler by trade here in Nc I’ve run Hitachi pneumatic nailers Build Thousands of homes apartments, national guard buildings you name it I’ve done , Hitachi is good stuff. But nothing beats the convenience of a cordless nailer. I own the older model, I can take it a part completely, clean her up put it back together in 15 minutes and boom 🤯 like new she never miss a beat. Great nailer

What's up man. Your the best builder that I don't know. I have learned a lot from you. Mainly on tik tok. So be it. Any how, man the guy that trained me used the old paslode framer.....Well I just bought the new one that you got now. I love it, it's so light....I'm a roofer. I'm reaching over my head alot. Trusses right. Then sheathing......You gotta mention the hook. The hook works well with my cargo pants. It never falls off. I say that because I work out of Detroit where I work on 2 and 3 storied homes often....My main goal is to buy lighter weighted tools. My hammer works like a 28, but balances and feels like a 14. Great gun man. It never jams with the paslode cartridges.

Good review. I bought a Paslode in the 2000s and still use it for projects from time to time. Mine is pre-lithium battery. The Paslode has a little ignition board in them that actually counts the number of shots. Mine went bad after a couple years and the batteries have since been replaced. Amazon has cheap replacements now so not a big deal. A cordless nailer comes in clinch anytime you’re building and despite its failures I still prefer the Paslode, the loud pop is satisfying.

Theres nothing to them man. Paslodes are the same thing as any engine. Fuel. Air. Spark. Take the cylinder off. It's 4 bolts. Use some cleaning spray and wipe it out. Spray a bit of lube back in the cylinder. Reassemble. Then repeat every 500 nails because these things get dirty immediately and start misfiring.

I know I am a little late, but just got done doing an addition. I’m not much of a wood butcher, as I mostly do steel stud framing. My paslode is about 18 years old, and has been nearly flawless with regular maintenance. My company bought me the new Milwaukee, and I hate it. The weight difference is huge, and the head design of the paslode is superior. The occasional maintenance and gas of the paslode has never bothered me.
@thetallcarpenter
@thetallcarpenter 3 года назад
Great video. I've got no problems standing by and recommending Paslode nail guns. If you use a battery only nail gun, day in, day out for framing and stud work, you'll soon realise that weight is a big deal. These guns take minimal regular maintenance to give trouble free service.😎

Regarding nailing into an LSL or LVL -- maybe try the MAX high pressure nail gun that they use on the Awesome Framer channel? Tim shows it nailing through pressure treated bottom plates directly into concrete, so nailing through LSLs doesn't seem like a stretch?

Just a minor correction about Paslode's fuel cells: they are not currently offered in a two pack and they are closer to $12 each at most retail stores. Sometimes a better price can be found by purchasing a whole carton (9 cells) at a time but the best value is to buy fuel fastener packs, especially the 3,000 count (nails) ones that come with three cells. If you do the math and pull the cost of the fuel out, then divide the 3,000 nails by the dollar amount left over to get your price per thousand, there's A LOT of savings to be found there. Also, when you buy FNPs (Fuel Nail Packs), you'll never run out of fuel again. Each cell has about 1,200 shots of gas in it, so you should have about a half a fuel cell left over after each 3m FNP. Nice review!
@whymedude88

So here’s the thing, I have personally owned the Passload in the past and I thought it was a piece of junk then and I’m not entirely sure much is changed. I mean think about all of those gas cartridges and all of the jamming and other issues related to the tool. There are way too many brands right now that are much easier to use and don’t require much effort from the user. Not to mention, Milwaukee has one of the best warranties in the business. With all of this being said, I do appreciate your videos and your knowledge regarding construction and tools. My pet peeves however are when I listen to influencers that are promoting company sponsored/paid videos or are benefiting from free products as it creates certain inherent biases towards certain products! Most importantly then, at least for me is to have an unbiassed and unsolicited view of the product and or tool. Obviously. I prefer to listen to people that are not receiving money or other advantages from the manufacturers and or suppliers! Hope this helps

They work kinda. It’s usually better then hand driving nails. They miss fire with any serious use from my experience of about 15 years using them. I have had a air framer from passload and it’s a great gun. Light powerful and never miss fires. I also have a Milwaukee framer . Great tool. Heavy but it is far superior to that gas battery passload . When u are framing u end up climbing around a lot on the stuff u nail together with the guns. I have seen people get hurt because they thought the gun was shooting but the rafter had one nail in it and when my boss stepped on it it fell and he went with it. Junk cordless great air powered

It's not our standard on the jobsite but it is the only cordless we bother to have around. Misfires more than any of the pneumatics we use but it is really handy for small jobs, and any time we need a different nail for part of a job like galvanized and regular. As for power, we keep a ridgid pneumatic around just because it will nail into anything and I use it to assemble LVL beams. It's insanely powerful but heavy. All of the other framing nailers are Metabo HPT/Hitachi.

I use Max USA coil framer along with there compressor. Your attached to a hose but it will not leave the nails proud. 11/7 = 55% of the weight; not 55% lighter ... You make an excellent point though; repetitive stress can put a worker in serious trouble so if 45% lighter is important to most of us. You are younger than many of us - and in good shape, so the fact that you notice the difference and see that its important, is a great message. How many framing nails go into a typical wood post-frame house/building? I assume a couple of thousand?
@AirTisdale

Great review! The biggest advantages for pasload are (I've used the older versions from late 90's-2008 ish). Size,weight,ergonomics,and very aggressive tip. I used it framing back before joist hangers were used in our area,toenails in joists is exceptional! My cons are. #1The smell in tight areas,on a hot day in cramped quarters it will unsettle your stomach. #2 the cost of nails ,along with when paper-backed gets wet the strip delaminates resulting in buying more . #3 The cost of gas, and time spent cleaning . Pre-maintenance is best done before its needed to keep the job moving,worst thing is truss day/tricky build and gun doesn't work at a critical time.. #4 you need 3 batteries, if the 1 in the gun is left engaged the battery will discharge,1 is usually discharged,and 1 fully charged. The latter are a real world scenario with a crew of 3 or more,unless they are very proactive in removing the battery at end of day and charging. #5 1 strip of nails is gone very quickly, which involves carrying more strips in your pouch as well as lots of re-loading. For all day use above your head the paslode is worth the extra costs ,for the weight savings alone. There is probably an engineering term for weight angle. For example the m18 is heavier,but even worse it's longer which strains you wrist. If your nailing say roof sheets down the weight isn't as important. I prefer a coil nailer for nailing everything that is not above my head,less reloading and carrying extra weight in the pouch. Hopefully a company can make a cordless coil framing nailer! Btw I think Awsome Framers high pressure guns will shoot into LSL's,they shoot into concrete with ease. Thanks Kyle👍

is it that the nailer wont fire into the wood or is it you cant hold the nailer firm enough to the wood to allow it to drive the nails all the way home? from the video it looked as though the nailer was pushing away from the wood while trying to drive the nails home. was just wondering if the wood was held firm like in a wise etc and you applied more weight to the nailer if it would do it then or if you would still get the same results

My question is do I need both battery and fuel cell for it to work or is it operable with just a battery no fuel cell?

I’ve had the first gen im350 paslode for 14 years, it still fires like the day I bought it, I do keep it maintained! But I doubt your gas less guns would last that long

Milwaukee needs a service every 50 to 70 000 shot to refill liquid nitrogen.

@@Rammbuilds where did you hear this Christian m8? I'm only asking because I have the Milwaukee framer and the 18 gauge finishing nailer and asked the Milwaukee rep when I bought them and he said that I would not need to have this done. It wouldn't be too big a deal to get done though if need be. 👍😀

I can see where this could be of a great Advantage up in the air. Weight is always a pain when off the ground and this would help a great deal. I think on the ground like for walls the cost would add up ,but off ground its do able.

Must leave a started fuel cell in the gun, yes ? How long will the cell stay gassed up until next use ? Weeks, months ?

From what I herd you need the newer style high pressure compressor and high pressure nailers for the lsl nailing

A few questions: you said paper collated nails. Do they make plastic collated nails? Does the gun accept the other angle of nails?

I am on the market buying framing nail guns. But not sure which to buy. At work we use Paslode. But after using it i get misfires on it, and you need to press hard or bounce press it little bit harder so it will shoot the nail. Maybe the tools aren’t maintained properly and because of that i an getting those issues. And at the same time though it is nice gun light and works well. But the fact it uses gas and you smell it every time you use it and buy cartridges seems a lot. I am also liking the battery powered Milwaukee or Dewalt nail guns. I like how they offer bump fire modes etc. So not sure which to use. I see many people using Passlode. Can someone help me out. Thank you.

I'd be curious how the temperature of the fuel cell is in comparison to how deep it drives in depth wise. In degrees C 30-20-10 then at zero degrees type of thing. I'd strip and clean my gun often so I'd say it is purely the gas temp slowing or speeding up combustion or not firing at all. This is one test I've never seen

6:23 I don't think it is 55% lighter. If Milwaukee is 11lbs and Paslode is 7lbs... 55% of 11 is ~6. 6 less than 11 is 5. It is ~36% lighter. Right? I don't math well but that stood out to me. Regardless, nice review. Thanks. Thanks especially for showing it in action. Far too many product reviews out there that don't show any actual use of the product!
