Why is the stalker so late? It's started when there's like 150 minerals and 140 gas, it could've been started at 32, not 35 supply, am I missing something?
well my whole problem with these replays is that the terran knowing what you went for, countering it couldn't do anything to you ;/ While I mostly agree that the nerfs were needed for widow mine, I think it gives toss now to much leeway, since before it depended on scouting to play against it, while now you can go whichever, and you can pretty much hold. While you might argue that this is more versitile, now terrans are kinda stuck, if toss goes dt's you need a response (kinda ready), or if zerg goes all in also terran needs specific response. Overall my argument is that you removed basically "few" builds from terran, while expanding the others races response options. Don't know if it will affect me, cuz widow mine drops require me to be able to follow a build, but I see that terran will need to innovate, or they will be pushed to all in with new harstem build
Does Terran not know how to scout? This is the same case as not building a Raven and whining about not detecting infestors. Take Serral, he has several zerglings spread out the map, several overlords poking enemy bases, he has 90% knowledge of the enemy whether it be P, Z, or T. Can't T do that? They even have freaking scans. Most of Terran whines are skill issues.
Terrans overall got a buff. I guess relatively a nerf vs protoss since it got buffed a little harder. Zerg got the raw end of the shaft again, despite already being underpowered. I guess people just see Serral at the top, and don't realize that he actually has intelligence, because they themselves lack the ability to spot intelligence. so they see Zerg #1 and say Zerg OP. Never mind that they have the least representation in the top 40, or in the top 24 at IEM Katowice. No somebody will point out that this one time zerg won something.
@@malekiththeeternityking5433toss and terran have equal population in masters and GM. by your logic, zerg is underpowered as its just 20% of GM. its fine though. no matter who gets nerfed or buffed its always the terrans who cry
@@LegionSC21. Read his comment again. 2. Love it when people play the 'terran whine' card while they are the ones whining 24/7. The ultimate get out of jail free card.
@@LegionSC2 I'm not the one who made the OG comment genius, and all the pros agree this is a Terran nerf, no one is complaining this clown just said Terran was buffed which isn't true. But then can't expect much from neurons like yours
@@LegionSC2 "no matter who gets nerfed or buffed its always the terrans who cry" of course. Mines will be nerfed because protoss and zerg whines for 5+ years, liberators as well. Raven was nerfed because of protoss whine, EMP was nerfed because protoss whine and e.t.c. But yeah terrans want cry and whine.
Protoss build guide "So you have pay attention to the worker count, the TIMING, look where etc etc" Terran build guide "HAHAHA CYCLONES AND TANKS GO BOOM BOOM!"
1:24 - cybercore 20 - nexus 21 - pylon 22 - gas opponent has 1 gas only = no need for fast battery 2:00 - cybercore and pylon finishes, start the adept and crono it (2 adepts in total, both cronoed) 2:30 - stargate 2:40 - warpgate research (as soon as 50 gas available) crono on the 2nd nexus pylon stalker, phoenix, 2nd gateway crono on 1st phoenix for a fast scout 2 more rax at 4:00 means there won't be a committed 1-1-1 push The response to a single gas fast expansion is a 3rd nexus at 4:00. Stay on 3 gases for a long time. Go up to 8 gates (before robo), despite having only 6 ground units. Phoenixes are great against 2-base pushes, so build them until you see the 3rd. 4:20 Forge and twilight 6:00 Robo. 4th gas, ~60 probes Build an observer and a prism/immortal while the robo bay is building Against 3 rax, build the batteries at 4:25 the latest.
I just started playing SC2 again a week or two ago and trying to focus on improving and I'm learning Protoss, so this is the perfect video for me. Love the details on the different responses, looking forward to trying to learn this opener on the ladder. If you decide to do a guide for PvZ and PvP openers sometime in the near future that would also be awesome :)
Harstem has already uploaded perfectly fine build orders for PvZ and probably PvP. And I agree with the other commenter, you should really be learning his three gate blink build first because this build is really complicated.
Sick guide. Thanks king. Patch looked so promising I'm gonna play again after a year and a half, needed something current to help me (re)learn how to play. Very thorough, much appreciated.
Loved this, thank you Harstem. Even if you didn't go into detailed responses, just your scouting breakdown has helped me massively and I hope you do one for Zerg!
The 4 most common builds that terran do at every single level? I am 3300-3400 P and the most common thing Terran does is 1 base all in. And it has been for years. Over 60% of my games is a 1 base all in by terran.
One quick question: What if terran goes 2 tanks 25 marines push in the main without expanding. How would you adjust to that ? Harrassing mineral lines or lifting tanks, would adepts be enough for that much marine ?
the phoenix micro is just way too much attention for low level players for this to work. the 3 gate blink stalker push at 5m was a much more streamlined guide and all encompassing, this i feel is just a bit too much
dear harstem now Korean use amap to hacker attack since yesterday, this made Chinese player can not to play game could you sc2 official to fix this hug thank you very much。

This was an awesome guide! *SUGGESTION FOR THE NEXT GUIDE:* Explain how stalker zealot works in PvP. I've seen you play against protosses like Showtime where you both get eco and spam gateway units. When I as a M3 player try to do that, I always lose to archon or disruptor transition. This would be more like a Harstem Hour video rather than build order guide. I have watched your Harstem Hour episode about general PvP thinking, and I would like a more specific version of that, about gatewayman PvP playstyle. It could be very similar to this video, where you go through the different windows against different enemy strategies. Thank you for this guide and thank you in advance for upcoming guides, they are your best content
This is such a good guide it makes me want to boot up some SC2 and practice. Havnt played a lot of protoss since the days of Parting where i just copied all of his builds
Thank you so much for the work you have done Harstem! You made the phoenixes very happy at +1, the charge (and not the boring colossi) is exactly what I have been looking for for a long time. I am very happy!)) It seems to me that you made one of the most detailed guides of all time. I wish you happiness and good luck in everything!
appreciate the guides, but if your oppponent wasnt 1k mmr lower than you and ever clicked on the battery, youd just die to the 1-1-1 and possilby 3rax too. what happened to the sg-robo builds, are those not good for holding off the initial pushes? i find it really hard to hold with pure gateway without blink/charge - if your battery is sniped you auto lose.
you can still sg-robo in favor of delaying your 3rd/other tech or not building gateway units if you like. worth pointing out SG-Robo isn’t much better for holding 3rax and he stressed these are difficult pushes to hold. much easier with 3/4 gate blink or DTs, or blind counter with robo first into quick colossus.
The thing of Terrans getting to choose the build order, protoss having to respond is pretty thematically appropriate: 2/3 Terran campaigns across both games (N:CO doesn't count) were about how awesome freedom is while protoss are known for strictly adhering to codified rules.
@@AntiDoctor-cx2jd ....... So by saving 50 Gas and 50 Minerals terrans got Buffed? They literally ruined the Widow mine in TvZ, They nerfed the Liberator which was the staple for late game TvZ and TvP what are you on about?
@@malekiththeeternityking5433 they nerfed the baneling before this patch, which was the staple for zvp and zvt. A unit being a staple is the same as being a abusive, too easy to use, strat. It got nerfed for a reason.
@@malekiththeeternityking5433"staple for tvz and tvp" piss off buddy. there isnt a single terran unit that isnt a staple. ill trade collosus with your "nerfed" liberators any day of the week.
