Braxton Talks about his journey from flying a Cessna 172 to transition to a PC-24. The transition from a Cessna to Pilatus is not easy but seems like a fun journey! It is impressive learning to fly after being a professional in a different field. Getting a new PC-24 type rating is always an interesting story to listen to.

What's the maximum payload with full fuel of the PC-24? Pilatus's website says 715 pounds but some air charterers claim it's 915 pounds on their sites. Did Pilatus figure out a way to increase the payload capacity? Last I heard, it was the most requested feature amongst most operators.

Good question. Honestly I’m not sure! I’ll reach out to Braxton and see if he knows! Unless there’s another PC-24 expert in the audience!

@@HangarTalkFS Thanks! It should be more than 715 lbs from what I can tell. I've been seeing that figure since the PC24 was introduced in 2018. Yet in 2021, Pilatus put in the new LiOn batteries which weigh some 84 pounds less than what they had before, and they also added lighter seats. I guess all this would result in an increased payload cap, may be even add some range? Also, for most jets of this class, the payload w/ full fuel figures are given with the seats in place since they are essentially transport jets. But, in the PC24 the seats can be removed by the client to make room for cargo, which would mean we should be able to add more useful weight. So, are the PC24 payload numbers inclusive of seats or exclude them? I'd imagine Pilatus would try to capitalize on such figures since it would really drive home the "Super Versatile Jet" idea :)

Sir a strange question to fly PC-24 you have to have a atp license or you can fly Pilatus PC-24 with a commercial pilot licnse with the corespondent type rating. Glad to receive your answer related to this. Thank You. Would like to contact you for further info.

You can be typed while holding a commercial pilot certificate and operate part 91 without any issue. If you were flying for a 135 operator you would not be able to operate as PIC on any 135 trips without an ATP.

Where did you train for the Pilatus pc12? What flight school

Flight Safety in Dallas is where Braxton did his training. I'm not sure how many training centers actually exist out there for the PC-24 though.

The aviation industry is far tougher than they say, the pilot shortage is not real, you need hard work and lots of luck to get jobs, oh and a collage degree.
