I've been looking for a review of the Estie Cola for a while now, and I'm so glad I found yours! Been on the fence about ordering one, and after watching I took the plunge and order a Cola with Esterbrook's new Techo Nib! It looks like such a beautiful pen and packaging and I can't wait to get mine. The brown ink was a good choice. I hope you enjoy your new pen! 😄
I would have never thought myself a 1.1 stub girlie but I tried both the 1.1 stub and journaler nib on an Estie at Yoseka and loved both but the 1.1 stub won me over. I journal on blank MD notebook paper and it is dreamy! 🙌🏾
Esterbrook really does make fabulous nibs! In addition to the Journaler, I'm wicked fond of their Scribe nib. So fun to write with. 😁 Thank you for watching!
Great review & gorgeous pen! I wish Esterbrook would restock them so I could snatch one up but I think only 120 were made so who knows? 🤷🏻♀️ You're right: it totally looks like cola & ice! 🤘🏻
I hope you're able to get one! I really love this pen, and I've been enjoying it even more with the journaler nib that I did end up ordering. Thank you for watching.
For me, Esterbrook exclusives (or even their limited editions) always seem to be hard to get a hold of. I'll save up, and as soon as I pop over to the site to finally place an order, the version I'd been wanting will have sold out. This is my first time managing to actually get the one that I wanted! :) Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much for this video. I was really curious about the stub nib - I have always been a calligraphy/stub nib person since my teens but I decided to try the custom journaling nib for something different, I am adjusting to it and do like it the more I write with it but it is much much finer than the stub. The custom is my first medium nib - I’m a fine nib virgin 😜 From what I can see and the line variations are not as distinguishable in the custom as they are in the stub. I am still contemplating getting another Estie in the stub so I very much appreciate this video. 🙏🏽✒️
I'm so glad this was useful! I actually just (seriously, just a couple days ago) got the journaler nib and am enjoying it, too. The stub definitely shows more variation than the journaler, but as with most stubs, I find myself needing to be a bit more careful as I write with it than I do with standard nibs. I'm **very** happy with both nibs, though. Let me know if you decide to get the stub!! 😍😍😍
Now I am thirsty for a Coke. I think the color is just awesome. Makes me think of Cherry Coke. If you like the way the writing looks, but you write small, then you can get a medium or fine nib ground to a stub of that width.
